Test Track now has a base model Camaro. (It's Aqua Blue Metallic).

It should be on display until February.

(When I say "Base"...I mean "Base")

No spoiler or foglamps, steel rims (18"). V6...cloth interior, etc.

It's still a nice looking ride though :)

(Pics are courtesy of Josh...and found on Camaro5.com)

Cool! I haven't seen one yet and I'll be there for the Marathon next weekend. Can't wait to check it out.

Hello.

My name is Robert and I have an addiction.

I just left the Collection in Coral Gables with a new car.

It's German, it's fast as !!!!, and I call her Judy. Judy is a Porsche Boxster S RS60 #1316/1800, and I own 1/4 of her (my brother in law owns 1/2, and my other brother in law owns the other 1/4)

She is in my possession until the 7th of January, when I give her back to the half owner.

And then she's in my possession again in March for 2 weeks, and from May until August.

Please help me with my addiction.

Cool! The dealer near me is trying to get rid of their remaining '08's, and I keep going back and forth on getting one.

^ I must not know much about cars if I really really want a Delorean, though, right? :lookaroun

The Delorean is one of the most iconic vehicles ever made. The problem is, more people like it because of Back to the Future and can't see the car for what it really was before thost movies.

I would never buy a Delorean that was painted. I've seen it in black...and, while I loved the look of it...I would never buy it out of principle. Stainless Steel. How many cars do you know of that has a body made of stainless steel?

From the stainless steel finish, to the gullwing doors, to the wedge design...amazing vehicle.

The only reason I like that car is because BTTF... lol.

From an aesthetic standpoint, it's amazing... but otherwise, it's slow (88.8mph... HAH!), unreliable (but seriously, what 24 year old car built by drunken irish dockworkers wouldn't be), and fugly.

To me its like a Yugo... but cool looking.

Hey Brian... it came with Bridgestones, but today we swapped them out for Michelin PS2's.

I'm gonna break the car in tomorrow on a drive to Tampa

Obviously I wasn't around for the "before BTTF" part, but I actually would love a Delorean even with the movies aside. (I'd only get it in stainless steel "original" colour, too... have you seen the gold-plated $300,000 one? Limited edition, indeed. )

To me its like a Yugo... but cool looking.

I only wish the price was lowered to match the "unappreciative" treatment Deloreans seem to get... $57,500 for a new make!

If you want, I'll give you the story behind the car over PM.

Thanks, but I think the chances that I'll actually get one soon are slim. Whenever my heart starts pushing for one, my head comes back with a list of reasons I shouldn't:

1. I don't want the people who do actual work around here to think I'm overpaid and start asking for more money or . . . worse . . . expect me to do more of the actual work.

2. I'm concerned that the maintenance costs will be high. It's always bugged me that just getting at the engine looks like an ordeal. I hate to be dependant on the dealer for everything. Even with the oil spout they added a couple years ago, I probably couldn't put oil in it without messing up the interior.

3. If I'm really going to spend that kind of money on a toy, the new Z4 starts getting interesting and it's a little more unique than the Boxster (at least for now) and I've got a good relationship with the BMW dealer and they do free maintenance etc.

. . .

. . . to which my heart usually screams back:

BUT IT'S MID-ENGINED YOU TIGHT A$$ JERK.:lookaroun

I loved the Bridgestones that came on my Z...and then switched them out for Pirelli's...and realized what a huge mistake I had made.

Huzzah!!

http://jalopnik.com/5127192/2009-detroit-auto-show-the-officially-unofficial-coverage-starts-here

It has started!

I am looking forward to any news on the CTS Coupe...lol

Do you know what I find funny?

The Pontiac/GM fanboys are actually shocked and appalled that GM cancelled the Pontiac G8 ST. (Sport Truck). Whuh? Where would this sell? The G8 isn't selling like it SHOULD be for the incredible vehicle that it is...and the SSR was a flop.

GM needs to drop Pontiac altogether. Just bring the high performance numbers to Chevy under the "SS" moniker and make their vehicles TRUE SS'ssss.

This year will be interesting (Is it true that Nissan has pulled out of the Detroit show altogether?). If anybody is going, I'd love more pics of the 'Maro! (I'm actually contemplating putting down a deposit on one...but my brain is telling me not to purchase anything until I've been able to at least SIT in one)

Pontiac fanboy here (have owned Firebirds, Trans Ams and the Grand Prix GTP) and I am glad they cancelled the thing...it wasn't going to sell at all.

No, I don't agree. They can do a very cool version of the GTO (not the Vauxhall thing, either), a new Firebird or Trans Am, etc. and I believe there would be enough interest in those types of vehicles.

They need to drop more than just Pontiac. Out goes Hummer, Saab, GMC, and Buick.

Chevy as their mainline product, Saturn/Opel/Vauxhall as their premium brand, and Caddy as their Luxury brand.

There isn't one vehicle in GM's lineup that couldn't be placed into those divisions as it stands.

There isn't one vehicle in GM's lineup that couldn't be placed into those divisions as it stands.

Buick (by name) is the largest selling American car sold in China. They will not drop Buick.

My lineup would consist of:

Chevy (main)
Cadillac (Lux)
Saturn (Economy)
Buick (Keep in small numbers just for mainly overseas sales)

Pontiac (no need) The Pontiac name has been soiled and I think it's far from salvagable. If people hear of a "GTO" coming out...they will not be excited due to the failed last attempt. Also, people that want a Trans-Am/Firebird will not be excited (aside from the diehards) because they majority will say, "Isn't that just a Camaro?"

Here is what I would do with Pontiac to please the fans. Make Pontiac a "special" car. Release one model of the Firebird or GTO on the 5th anniversary of that vehicle. Release it in limited numbers and keep it unique.

Why do we need a G5 when we have a Cobalt? We don't.

Hummer needs to go completely. The people that wanted a Hummer already bought them. Hummer isn't really attracting NEW customers.

Saab. A great name...for a subpar product. I test drove one (ok, I was in the car while it was being driven) and the door mouldings fell off. (Brand new car I might add). Blue smoke started pouring out of the exhaust...and it didn't know when to shift. If this is what Saab is putting out, it will just bring the GM name down.

GMC is pointless. Every vehicle in their lineup has a direct clone.

With Saturn being essentially Opel America, I feel that they shouldn't be the Economy brand. Perhaps a premium economy to put up against VW? They can't let Opel's Euro heritage go to waste here. They need to position Saturn as a premium, European counterpart to Chevy.

As for Buick... yes, I am aware of the brands perception in China... but unfortunately, that's not the perception of Buick in the US. There is no reason that Buick and Caddy can't be made one. The same as there is no reason that the Chevy, GMC and Pontiac lines can't be consolidated and combined (remove all badge engineered products and keep the Chevy version only, and in case of competing products that aren't badge engineered, pick one and ditch the other)

1. I don't want the people who do actual work around here to think I'm overpaid and start asking for more money or . . . worse . . . expect me to do more of the actual work.

The car lives in Key Biscayne, FL.... by Key Biscayne standards, that's the equivalent of a Miata or Solstice. Maybe an Eclipse convertible :ROFLOL: Seriously, this is a place where I see soccer moms driving 430 Spyders and a Carrera GT going through a gas station carwash.

2. I'm concerned that the maintenance costs will be high. It's always bugged me that just getting at the engine looks like an ordeal. I hate to be dependant on the dealer for everything. The car just needs to last us 1 year before it goes to its new owner.

Only 1,960 of these were made... IMO it's more unique than a Z4 :king:
