Agreed, the last two transformers movies have been abominations but the ride is great...
I didn't care at all for HP yet ADORE FJ and the whole of hogwarts so much so it has made me go back and watch the movies and fall in love with them.

I don't care for Men in Black, or Simpsons but again... I really enjoy both rides...

I thought Twister was poor yet.... oh wait... no,that attraction still blows.

The strength of an intellectual property tie-in can help, but it isn't everything. Raise your hand if you've even seen Song of the South, much less love it. I haven't. Splash Mountain is still one of my favorite attractions (although maybe not in its current condition.)

I saw Song Of The South in 1973 as a double feature along with Aristocats.

Transformers the Ride is an amazing attraction. Clone or not, everyone who enjoyed Spider-Man will love this ride.

I rode both of them and didn't LOVE Transformers, just liked it.

It felt so much like Spider-Man, and not pushing boundaries. More screens and less props & sets which are always the same anyways (tunnels, broken walls, tunnels, industrial). No background music, only sound effects and dialogues (done on purpose I guess, but it doesn't help to get emotionaly involved). The story is confusing (it's simple, but there are battles everywhere, it just never stops). It's a long ride allright, but that doesn't make it better, it almost feels repetitive at times. It doesn't help that the day I rode it, the 3D didn't work on 2 of the main screens, so it just took me out of the story. Anyway, the 3D was just OK, I prefer the one on Star Tours 2. I could see the pixels on Transformers, and that's not good.

When all is said and done, I largely prefer Spider-Man, and I for one like the Transformers trilogy. But I never felt the goosebumps I get for some battle scenes in the films. So having those two very similar rides in two parks next door to each other, is kinda odd. It should have remained a Hollywood - and Singapour - exclusive, as they don't have the Spider-Man ride. I am not complaining Orlando is getting it, but I just don't see the point, except as a marketing push for 2013 before Potter 2.0.

But as it's not replacing another ride, that's fine with me.

IDK if anyone saw this, but the first floor's track layout has been revealed in construction photos. It perfectly matches the layout of Hollywood's Transformers, if there was any doubt that this was Transformers...

Well to each his own. I've been on both and consider the film clarity and resolution second to none in Transformers. Not to mention ILM has publicly said it was one of the most complicated and expensive ride films ever created. I didn't see any pixels either so not sure what happened there.

As to why ehh why not. If Disney could build Indy, the superior clone to Dinosaur next door at DHS for 50 million dollars two years before a 450 million dollar expansion opened I'm pretty sure they would think about it. Not to mention most visitors to the park will not tear apart Transformers because of similarities to Spider-Man.

I'm sure someone at Disney has thought about it... but never done anything about it. And I think a more immediate issue for Transformers will be the other two 3-D attractions right next to it, with a 3rd not far away.

I have I feeling that if the 3D was not Broken you would have a slightly different feeling about it

One of which will probably go bye bye very soon. Thats why they aren't too concerned.

Not that the area isn't called glasses alley for nothing at the moment...

Transformers Orlando will be of higher resolution than the other two versions. Amazing but yes.

Wasn't it already 4k? That was my impression anyway.

Shrek, I'm assuming? The attraction hasn't aged all that well, but I'd be surprised if they didn't want to keep the Shrek property in some fashion. It's still popular.

I wouldn't mind losing Terminator either.

They did that for a while, having both Star Tours and Body Wars open in two different parks. It felt odd, really. Same vehicles and boarding layout, different film.

That said, I was with some people who were blown away by Transformers. But they never rode Spider-Man before, so the technology was new for them. I don't know for the pixels, it just screamed "screens" to me. It may also be due to the lack of sets and props around them, as you can see in Spidey. Transformers was more of a "Simpsons on a track" experience for me. But the film itself was of very good quality for sure, no complain about that!
