Um there are robots, aliens, and spaceships in the Marvel Universe. I think people who have never read comics before shouldn't really be jumping into this conversation especially if they wish WDW would get frozen in a 90s time capsule never to be changed.
I thought the sarcasm was pretty apparent. Per'aps not.

Whoever does the new voice is just pure awful and I can't stand the character voices.

Too technical? Any idiot can see that Marvel characters are not science fiction.

Well, as an apparent idiot, i want to let you all know that my new issue of Uncanny X-Men arrived in the mail today and it features a chick with diamond skin hanging with a guy with laser beam eyes. And an amphibious underwater prince. And a teleporting elf. And their differences are based on the supposition that specific genetic mutations within normal humans could produce incredible abilities with enormous ramifications.

As a lifelong comic book fan, I can hardly say that *no* comic books are science fiction.

Archie however....

I had to.

Aha! I see the symbolism that they're about to fall into a MaElStRoM.

That RoCkS!!!11!1

Say what...?

No honestly, this is honestly one of the dumbest things I've ever seen written on the site. Bruce Banner gains his powers through a scientific process, same with Spider-Man. Tony Stark designs a futuristic suit of armor. The X-Men are an advancement in evolution. Venom is an alien symbiote.

:brick:

So? They contain elements of sci-fi, but that doesn't make them sci-fi entirely. They mostly fall into their own different genre, and that is comic books and super heros.

This is a return to form for Tomorrowland. Imagineering no longer wants it to just be "Fantasyland East"
I don't understand how the TTA change demonstrates a "return to form for Tomorrowland." If anything, with the Disney Channel-style narrator and the addition of several character cameos, the new spiel makes Tomorrowland feel even more like Fantasyland East.

The spiel is just one big advertisement for Stitch, Buzz, Speedway, and MILF. It no longer has any humor, charm, or soul. I really don't like the new direction that you claim Tomorrowland is taking.

I dunno...a guy with a four-inch nose who walks around with his eyes closed without hitting anything, and can put away dozens of burgers at a sitting without bursting his gut? I think there has to be some kind of mutation in play there.

Just watched a video of the new spiel, and I must say I'm torn. I like the new voice, and the cohesive feel that was missing the past years.

However, I feel there's a large gaps in the narration, and all the humor's been taken out.

Here is a blog from the Orlando Sentinal Them Park Rangers on 8/28:
A trusted source reports that Disney is reviving a Stitch show that will be presented this year during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. It's name: "A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas," but it will include the rascally character. Expect it on the stage where Stitch was previously seen for the short-lived, much-panned Stitch's Supersonic Celebration.
A Disney official told me they have nothing to announce at this time.
Reasons to believe: You had to know that stage wasn't going to sit idle forever. But it has a distinct look that isn't going to work for just anything, say, princesses, for example.

On August 10, when I was at MK to collect my Fun Card, I wandered over to Tomorrowland to see how deserted it felt. Mainly, on this side of Tomorrowland I bumped into smokers. But look, scaffolding on the site of the late, not-so-great SuperSonic Celebration (above). How much distress could it have gone under? A clue is given.
I had already been wondering about Very Merry, especially Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas Show, which has been staged on the Galaxy Palace Theater. That was adjacent to Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin -- until the stage was demolished earlier this year.
But now I'm wondering about the interactive portions of the new show, if any. Very Merry is always after-hours, therefore after dark. Do they have the technology to project audience members onto the big screen? Or is that even planned. Not that they need to copy all the elements of the SuperSonic show. Santa, help us!
Very Merry runs for 19 select nights, beginning Nov. 19.
Sidenote: Disney officials confirm that the first night of the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights has been moved up to Nov. 10 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It was originally on the calendar for Nov. 30. It will run through Jan. 4.

Why does every ride at Disney have to have cheesy jokes in it? Why can't we have rides that are serious again like we did in the 70s and 80s?

I agree that some humor is fine but the way the company has gone about humor in the past 10 years seems to be "hey lets make fun of ourselves". That's fine for jungle cruise but when you start sticking dumb humor into everything (ellen dropping her make up kit and fighting a plesiosaur in Epcot Center, "I think I oiled myself" in stitch, cheesy preshow vids, etc.) it just becomes so lame after awhile. We need rides that once again have serious narration, rides with cheerful narration, etc. A diverse collection of attraction styles is what I used to like.

I didn't know the two or three small TTA jokes bothered you that much.
