With FLE and AL (Avatar Land), two of four parks get a half billion dollars worth of love and attention, but we have four park - another two need TLC. EPCOT needs a makeover and DHS needs an expansion. Cars Land would take care of DHS' needs, with only EPCOT left screaming for attention.
Then, there's the question of monorail expansion, figured to cost between a billion and $2 billion, which is the same as the total cost of giving all four parks a $500 million expansion or makeover. If they're spending a billion on this NextGen project, I seems to me that monorail expansion and park expansions and makeovers would be up there in priorities. By the way, when I say "monorail expansion", I am using these words loosely, as it could mean any number of "next generation" resort transportation solutions, including monorail, peoplemover, PRT, lightrail, metro, moving sidewalks, maglev, streetcar, trolley, etc.
The biggest hint from the Orlando Sentinel article is this paragraph: "Disney this summer reassigned the creative executive who led the development of Cars Land to Orlando, appointing her to a new position of "executive producer" for all of Disney World..."
They (Disney) would not have made that move if they weren't planning on investing big in new projects at WDW. She will do to WDW what she has done for DL. It's like when Paul Pressler was moved from DL to all of Disney properties. His cheap low quality style which became his signature at DL spread throughout the company and to the other parks (JiYI at EPCOT, for example). This is something similar, but in reverse.
