Babaluaye is the Orisha name for St. Lazarus, who is called the "father of the world". Babaluaye is the ruler of all illness, disease and infirmities. He helps those who cannot help themselves such as those who have been rejected by society. He is a teacher of humility, compassion and responsibility to others. Babaluaye is very overworked and understaffed, but he will do his best!
I know him. In portuguese his name is Obaluayê. I am a spiritualist myself and I have prayed for him some times, but I didn't know this specific prayer.

Oh, thank you Tati! Your language skills are just wonderful. I am sure that Obaluayê will do his best to help Alicia and her father. Your help and the many other thoughts and prayers that have come forth from other members are gratifing. You are a very kind person.

Somehow I missed this thread back in April. So sorry to hear about all that you and your family has been through. Good to know that your father is hanging in there, he must be a very strong man. I sorta got a taste for what you and your family are going through 2 years ago when my grandma had cancer. It was not an experience that I wish to experience again. Sadly, she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. It will be 2 years ago this sunday. She was diagnosed in April and it spread rather quickly. The fact that your fathers hasn't spread is excellent news. I just wanted to let you know that I am keeping you and your family in my prayers.

"Now to Him, who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine - to Him be Glory in the Church, and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations. Forever and ever, Amen! Ephesians 3:20-21

Remember, God is there for you and he is listening to all of these prayers! He will take care of your father as well as your family. God bless you all.

I don't really know what to say, but here's hoping that your father will actually recover from this, and very soon hopefully! Alicia, both of you are in my thoughts and prayers! :)

Alicia, 2 o'clock it is. I will start at 2:00 and continue through the night. Prayer is a very powerful thing. A student at my dance studio was diagnosed with a brain tumor in April, had surgery in May and was actually able to perform a dance in our show the end of June. Group prayer during her surgery for her and the hand of her doctor gave us a miracle. I pray your family will also experience this miracle.

God bless you.
Love, Snuzi

At 2 pm I'll be sure have my kids smile and laugh. Please, don't misunderstand me, I mean no disrespect by it, but although prayers are a powerful force, I've always believed children's laughter can perform miracles too.

Again, all the best.

What time zone are you in? Just curious so I can try to pray for him when the surgery really starts. I'm in EST time zone, so is my 2:00 the same as yours?

Your family, especially your father, is in my thoughts and prayers. I'll make sure to say an extra prayer for him tomorrow at 2:00. I'll also throw one in for the surgeon and his or her skill also. I really hope that all goes well. I'll be thinkin about ya. Good luck, and may your father get well soon.

Shes here in the East. I said my extra prayer last night for the strength & guidance for the doctor and for her family. I have my alarm set for 1:30 today...just so I remember.

Hang in there, Alicia. You know where I am if you need to talk. Let us know how everything turns out. Don't forget to take care of you.

thank you everyone. he came out of the surgery just fine. unfortunately the tumor was left in due to the riskiness of taking it out. there's a man in milford, ct (about 15 minutes away) who cured his mother with some kind of soup so we'll be looking into that. also there is a new kind of radiation they are starting to do in boston that we will also be looking into.
right now he just needs to recover from the surgery and we can take him home and move on.
i dont really know what else to say here right now, just wanted to thank you all for the prayers.

Alicia, I'm sorry the surgery wasn't what everyone hoped for. Concentrate on getting your dad strong again and I'll keep you all in my prayers. *hugs*
