Im sorry for your loss…

I went through a not so similar experience with my grandfather.

He was a smoker and was diagnosed with lung cancer, His left lung had to be removed entirely, He got better, until he started having problems and was taken back to the hospital… Well in July I went to their house to help clean and things while he was away, and I visited him, he wasn’t the same from when I remembered him from a few months back. He had developed a leakage in his right lung and they couldn’t fix it. Eventually I got the news he passed away at the hospital. This was terrible, not only for the family, but I had to get the a funeral, and hurricane Frances was heading for us, Luckily we hit last flight out of TIA to attend. I was a pallbearer. Very said time, a lot of emotion.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Your family is in my prayers. Just remember, he is in a much better place now with no pain. Always remember the good times and know that he loved you. He is now with God and God has taken him home. You now have a wonderful guardian angel by your side.

Sorry, that was a bad one, but bad jokes are usually the funniest and get the most varying reactions. I know how it feels to loose someone who's been around in your entire life. I was hoping my joke would bring even the thought of a smile to someones face. Sorry if it didn't work, a smile from me if it did.

Believe it or not, smiling does help, even if you don't mean it. I know this is going to sound like a really cheesy, 3rd Grade teacher thing to say, but smiles are contagious. If you smile, somone else who sees you smiling will be happy to know that you are smiling, and therefore will smile as well, and when somone else sees them smiling . . .

. . . You get it, right?


Anyway, I'm so sorry about your dad. He's watching you right now, seeing your family upset, and he's wondering why you are. He's happy, why aren't you?

Everytime you see the sun, that's him smiling to you.

Every time you see the moon, thats him kissing you goodnight.

I know this sounds unrelated, but if I were you, I'd buy some windchimes. They have a really calming effect, and if you put them somewhere outside low enough for you or anyone in your family to touch them, when you sound them and are saying hi, the wind will pick up. I can't explain it, but for everyone I know, it works. Try it.
