Was very much hoping for the first home gold, but a FANTASTIC job by all. I hold great respect especially for those who got back up after stumbling and finished their race, AND the crowd for cheering the recovery. :sohappy:

I agree. That's what I LOVE about the Olympics. Everyone has good sportsmanship and everyone is rooting for each other, while still trying to win.:sohappy:

Monty I thought you were going to go watch some of the events, or am I getting that confused with the race event you were talking about? My memory is shot these last few weeks!
It's almost 3,000 miles away. No.

I'm going to Montreal for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in June.

Absolutely! And I couldn't stop the pride from showing when Kristi Richards got up, dusted off, and then gave the crowd what they wanted ... some big air! She knew she was out of the medals, took her time to line it up and WOW!

Ah, feeling bad for Klassen right now.. but man did she get a good reception from the crowd!

Can't wait for the rest of our girls do their speed skating run!
Wish I could just watch the Olympics and not write this paper, haha.

Intense speed skating final.

Yay Groves!

Don't feel bad ... Cindy's my cousin -- she knew she wasn't a podium contender in the 3000. But, yea, three great skates for Canada!

She is on the back of my Cheerios!
The BF and I were discussing how amazing these athletes are, just incredible.

We're all cheering for our girls.. And boys, of course :) Hoping to stay up for the moguls tonight.. ugh, no sleep this week for me.

Sorry, Canada, but I can't agree with that one. I though he was a bit sloppy on the top and his first landing.

He shoulda gotten silver, but that's just me.

Obviously the panel of international judges that know what they're talking about disagree with you. But that's just me.

I LOVE watching these games! They make me want to go to Canada, like, right now.

Big congrats on the gold in men's moguls! I cannot wait for men's hockey to start...I'd love to see the US and Canada in the final.

That's not gonna happen, unless Ryan Miller stands on his head. The US just doesn't have the firepower this year. I would love to see it happen, though. If not I'm hoping Russia wins the gold. I just don't want any team with Sidney Crosby on it to win.

Turns - 50%
Air - 25%
Speed - 25%

He obviously had the better speed and air difficulty, and was very aggressive (which counts in turn marks). He literally attacked that run. I am sure we can agree to disagree :)

Bilodeau brings home the Gold! Awesome run! ▌♥ ▌ GO CANADA GO ▌♥ ▌

VERY awesome run...a true Canadian hero was born last night!!!! :sohappy: Got choked up when CTV closed their nightly coverage with his gold medal run and his family story with the song "I Believe" playing in the background. His love for his family, especially his older brother with cerebral palsy, was his inspiration he said, and now hopefully he can inspire a nation to follow in his footsteps to excellence.

It was 1:30 here, and I got a text message from my BF to wake up and watch the interview. Sooooo glad I did, even though I was half-asleep and a little teary.
