I'm running the Goofy in Jan!!

The price for the Tower 10Miler is funny--and I'm not complaining. Remember this one also INCLUDES an exclusive 5 hour afterparty at Hollywood Studios with the rides open. It's incredible I love it! Finish fast and there will be absolutely zero lines. The only way I can rode Toy Story 3 times in a row.

And Tower and Coaster--incredible night of accomplishment and rides!!!

LOL, a good motivation for speed. I remember finishing the ToT 13K at around midnight. My family was already back at the room and asleep, and I knew I had to get up at 5am the next morning to catch a flight to NY, but I wanted to make at least some use of the free party so I rode RnRC once by myself. I had only ever been brave enough to ride it once before with my family, so it took a lot of courage for me to ride it alone. Funnily enough, when I got back to the room at about 1am and got into bed, my hubby groggily rolled over and asked NOT "How was the race?" but "So did you ride RnRC alone?" LOL. The kids asked me the same first question the next morning! LOL.

This is getting super exciting! I won't be able to register for a few weeks. I wonder when they will put the race course on the site? I want to see where we're going to be running!!

I've never run any official event let alone one I had a real bib with my name. I'm assuming the names will be on the bibs if you register before a specified date. Here's my question: Do you get to specify what you want your name to appear as on your bib separate from the obligatory "name" field? I just looked over the registration page and didn't see a separate field for that. The reason I ask is because I'd prefer my name to appear as "SweetPee". I think it'd be fun considering there seems to be several peeps from here participating.

The site says between 10am and 4pm on race day! Which is good, because I won't be getting to WDW until late at night on the 28th lol. :D

for previous night races, Disney has been good about allowing packet pickup during the day.

if we make it to this race, we will probably come in on Friday afternoon and hit the Magic Kingdom Halloween Party, if one is scheduled. Saturday will be a day to lay low, hitting up the expo and staying chill for the late night race. I can't imagine touring a park all day then running a good 10 mile race that night! The after party will be open until 3 am, so doing anything on Sunday will be questionable!

If we don't travel home on Sunday, that will be the day to hit Epcot's food and wine festival - right at the end of the event!

As usual, Animal Kingdom gets left out. Fix the yeti!

Sweetpee - The name on your bib for a race will be your name from registration. For the Everest Challenge, you can have a "team name" and you could maybe use your screen name for that, if that is a consideration.

Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate it. I suppose I can always fix myself up a shirt to wear with my name on it. If I'm running I'm not wearing make-up and, believe me, I look drastically different without make-up than I do in my trip report pics.

I don't see the Everest Challenge as a possibility. I won't be making any special vacation trips to WDW anytime in the forseable future if I can help it. I'm sure campaigning hard with the family against it. The ToT 10m works out because it's the night we get off our September cruise. We had contemplated spending a night at the Yacht or Beach Club that night anyway and just enjoy the resort without going into the parks. This race now provides a great opportunity to hit my first runDisney event which is something I've wanted for a while. Plus, the after-party part will be an extra perk for the kiddos. We'll likely spend the day lounging/napping by Stormalong Bay then hit the race. I'm with you: I don't know how anyone could race after a parks day. :D

I'm hoping for a MNSSHP Friday or Sunday evening, too. And possibly doing EPCOT for Food & Wine, as well. Laying low Saturday. It may turn into a trip, where you sleep during the day and do things at night.

My wife and I are officially in. I think this will be a fun weekend! I'm not expecting a consistently exciting race course, but I think the finish line party has tremendous potential.

Races like this are great because your fee includes an after party in a Park (MGM). It stings when you pay more money for Marathon Weekend and don't get a theme park ticket...unlike my experiences with Wine & Dine, Tower of Terror, and Everest.

I know there's been talk between the girls over at the TR part of the board about a meetup... but what about over here. Let's do a meetup that night!

Could you point me in that direction (provide the link), please.

It's been disperesed through various trip reports and such that we've had... and now on Twitter too. Not one official place, but just people posting here and there like "woo! let's meet up and get pictures with our medals!" etc etc. :)
