The Spirited 11th Hour ...

CinemaCon just showed the first 27 minutes of Finding Dory and lets just say it brought some of the audience to tears.

Sounds great. The ending of the movie concerns me though. I mean, the whole point of the original was that Nemo escaped the fish tank and found his father. They were in the ocean, then Nemo was captured, and finally, he made it back to the ocean.

But the ending of this movie...
supposedly has them living happily ever after in a marine park. A MARINE PARK?! Destroys the whole point of the first film. The whole point of Finding Nemo was that they belong in the ocean, not in a tank.

I hate to judge before it's released, but if the ending we've heard is true, it could be a real bummer. And something people look back on in 30 years (or sooner) and spit at. But I'll reserve full judgement for when I see it, obviously.

I don't think Toy Story 4 will be a great movie. They should've ended after 3. But it should do well.

I was not aware of how the movie possibly ends. You could have used a spoiler tag.

Looks fun. On a separate note, I cant stand it when a major company like USA Today has a website with a video like this and you have to watch a 20 second advertisement. Whats worse is that the advertisement will not skip or buffer AT ALL, but when the actual video starts, it buffers every ten seconds.

"Studio Ghibli co-founder Toshio Suzuki says that Zootopia "is a masterpiece that stands above the rest" and calls Hayao Miyazaki to say "I just watched something amazing."

That's what surprised me. They had more space out to Cars then Zootopia. I mentioned to the store manager that I would bet that very shortly they will be increasing the space for Zoo. She said, and I quote... "Why?" I replied that the movie was doing really well. She said... "Really, I didn't know that." :jawdrop: So much for people that work, even in retail, for Disney knowing anything about what is going on. :)
They probably are just trained to parrot what the higher PR tells them.
I suppose most employees nowadays are trained to be drones than actually take the lead when they work for a big corp.

I'm sure of that, but, the PR people apparently did not have the faith in Zoo. I know that the local people have no control over what shows up and how much of it to put out, but, it was more of a comment on both the idea that PR missed it, but, the local CM's were not aware that it seemed to be a winner.

Did the extra magic 2am night thing thursday night. A guest gave my girlfriend and I 2 passes in line at BoG. She said that they were comped them for some reason and didn't want them, so free passes? Ok. The park was pretty cool at night mostly empty, rode about 15 rides in those 3 hours. Would I pay $150 extra for this experience? No. $25-$40 maybe. How bad does this have to be failing if I can just be wandering the park and some other park guest give me these passes out of the blue because they don't even want them I wonder?
EDIT: finally got to ride mine train. Expectations were extremely low. Pleasantly surprised. A little too short though, but a decent coaster from the back seat of the train. Better than barnstormer, I'd say on par with btmr on thrill factor... just my two cents. (Of course btmr theming is way better and more complete)

went on Jungle Cruise today....had a very cute skipper but she was waaaaaay off script, making her own jokes it seemed like.

During the "backside of water" area, she said "I can tell you how to get free fastpasses", then went silent as the falls were so loud acting like she was talking but couldn't hear her....

BUT she also said after the natives with spears weren't doing anything...."They're frozen, Just like everything else in this park".......wow.

I had her too on our trip over Spring Break! Very lively.. I had to have a laugh at the Frozen joke. Wondered how many of the heads it was going over. At DCA last summer, a CM in the Animation building made a joke about us hearing "Let it Go" for the 5th time of the day or something and that "Disney wouldn't let us go all day without hearing it!".. The CM animosity towards Frozen makes me giggle.

She also made a joke, can't remember the specifics, about one of the zebras "identifying" as black with white stripes.. (not sure if that's in the script.. I assume not) As a student at a very liberal university I was kind of surprised by that one. Didn't bother me in particular though, wondered how many heads it went over as well.

I'm pretty sure she didn't say that zebra comment this time, which is probably a good thing. I wish I could remember some of the other unique things she said.

Not unknown China recently passed a law making it illegal for non-Chinese companies to distribute media products in China. The iTunes Store was also shut down a few days ago. The Chinese are great trading partners aren't they....

Stuff like this is why Eisner passed on doing business in Mainland China he was and is smarter than Iger in dealing with the east

Alibaba was put in charge of distributing DisneyLife in China.

Alibaba was put in charge of distributing DisneyLife in China.

The laws intent was to prevent the distribution of disharmonius and subversive content which erodes the social cohesion of Chinese society. Translation China does not want western medias cultural loading and to a lesser extent it's a protectionist move to protect China's film industry
