They have the better Small World (Yes, our facade is better, but their ride and music are better. I despise the character additions to ours.)

How dare you.

They have the better Tom Sawyer island. It is unfathomable to me that they are going to pave over the river and island for Cars.

This is true. MK's TSI feels so lived-in, and the river is gorgeous. It's a tragic loss for that park.

Bring back the PeopleMover!!!!

With Splash replaced, Country Bears re-themed, and the Rivers of America soon being bulldozed, PeopleMover is really the only thing left at MK that is truly special. Well, that and the spectacular, undeniable Carousel of Progress, of course.

We got stuck in the Carousel of Progress. On the app, I noticed that it went down several more times. If they can't maintain it, then it should just go. That's a lot of wasted space there.

How dare you.

Ok, I'm going to get heat for this: We liked TBA.

I actually love hearing that people like it, and I'm glad you liked it. I want Disney to build attractions that people enjoy, even if they're very far from all the things I enjoy about theme park attractions. For example, I'm glad Haunted Mansion Holiday is insanely popular, even if I strongly prefer the OG version.

That said... I will passionately argue online with anyone who tries to tell me "They can play!" is good dialogue 🤣

I really hate screen rides. For the love of Stinky Pete, when is this trend going to end?! I forgot my Dramamine on our EPCOT visit and, believe it or not, Ratatouille made me sick! I didn't dare try Mission Space or Cosmic Rewind after that (the family liked both, btw). Screens can be nice to augment physical sets, but making them the largest part of the ride experience or the entire ride experience (looking at you, Star Tours) is frustrating. I did just fine on a very spinning tea cup last night, but stick a screen in front of me and 🤢.
*end rant*
It helps me to close my eyes in certain screens on Transformers and Forbidden Journey.

Considering our Carousel theater is absolutely useless and the biggest waste of space in the park (rivaled only by Galaxy's Edge), I'd be hesitant to suggest they get rid of it, regardless of maintenance issues.

All awesome observations! How did you like the sound the MK Teacups make when they stop? 😃 Also, did you get a chance to see the Country Bears?
Yes. I went in not having watched any videos on the new version. The family, never having seen it before, enjoyed it. I left feeling sad for the loss of the original. I'm sure others have expressed it better than I can, but turning it into a Disney's Greatest Hits clip show is depressing.

Thank you! I’m glad I’m not the only one who got motion sick on Ratatouille. 😃 And Cosmic Rewind made me motion sick 2 out of 3 tries. (Still trying to figure out what I did differently that one good time…)
I was really surprised that Ratatouille made me sick. I was not expecting that at all. I think it might be the scratched glasses that did it. I was afraid to try Cosmic Rewind or Mission Space.

In my defense: I adore the CoP, when it works. If it works most of the time, then I take back what I said (and I'll acknowledge what someone else said about ours sitting there as big empty wasted space). My opinion came from the fact that we were stuck in the 20s for 3 rotations and the people in that theater started getting surly. I started to get concerned that we might find ourselves in one of those youtube videos of unruly guests fighting, etc. 😅 As I checked the app for the remainder of our time at MK, I noticed that CoP went down REPEATEDLY that day. I don't have anything negative to say about the ride itself, just the operations of it.

As for TBA, I agree that it is a dumbed-down, pre-school version of a "story". While on ride, I never actually heard the "they can play" line. What I DID hear was Mama Odie saying something insipid like "It's not a party without YOU!" 🤮 All I was saying is that, at the end of the day, it is a log ride with good music. People will enjoy it for what it is. I also understand the sadness for losing the amazing storytelling of Splash.

Yes that works for me for SOME rides. Star Tours? Nope. I had my eyes closed for MOST of the ride and was sick for an hour. That thing is evil.
For whatever reason, the ride that has aged the worst for my body is, without a doubt, Star Tours.

Which is really a bummer, because I really enjoy the experience and there are moments of the attraction, audio cues, etc. that are classic Disneyland to me in a way few things are. But I'm hard-pressed to do it more than once a trip anymore because my body just doesn't react well to it now.

You really have to keep your head forward on that one. Don't try to look around at all. Just focus on what's straight ahead.

The first few times I got off of it dizzy, but I've been on it a bunch of times (that is most of my purpose of going to Epcot, lol) and haven't had an issue.

ETA: Just to be clear, the WDW cast members did their best. They just seemed a lot more cranky than DL's cast members. Again, I think that is because there are a TON more people that are confused, have their faces stuck in their phones, or just plain rude. That's going to wear on anyone
There's also more WDW cast members. You're bound to get more bad apples in the bunch when you have to hire more people. WDW is pretty reliant on the college program kids too, so it's a lot of rotating employees.

As far as MK being dirtier, I think it's also the attitude of guests. There are MANY guests on WDW who have an entitled attitude of "I paid this much for my vacation; I should be able to do what I want." Whereas DL guests seem to think of it as "their" park and want to keep it clean.

That doesn't bode well for you if the attraction they put in the Avatar land at DL is anything like FOP...I can do Star Tours, but FOP is a hell no.

Cosmic Rewind I would have encouraged you to try because, IMO, it's Disney's best American theme park ride. I was completely unimpressed with Avenger's Campus because I was like "I've been on Cosmic Rewind..." I mentioned to another poster that if you keep your head straight forward and absolutely do not look around, you are much less likely to get sick.

Mission Space? Yeah, you didn't miss much. Green team is fine; people rarely get motion sick on that one. I am getting claustrophobic in my old age (of 29) and mostly skip it. I discovered this several years ago when my younger autistic disabled brother and I were on it, and it broke down. He was completely calm; I was not. I will ride it if others in my group want to and I'm not the only responsible adult there.

Orange, I have found out the hard way, sets off migraines. This is one attraction that I would be completely fine with them taking away and putting in something IP-based.

I'd like to see it updated so that the last scene is maybe the 80s, rounding out the 20th century. But the voice actor who voiced John died a while back, so I wonder if that's part of why they haven't updated anything; they'd be rerecording all of his lines basically.
