I'm glad Epcot's getting the entry fixed, but... then they announce the new "Play Pavilion" in former Wonders of Life... themed to...
...
"The Power of Play." I think this phrase--which seems awfully similar to Nintendo's old "Now You're Playing With Power," slogan--sums up the weak, committee-run, dunderhead side of today's version of Imagineering.
(EDIT)
Anything's better than an empty pavilion, but it makes you wonder if Disney would have been wiser to just keep Wonders of Life (and it's two top-notch main attractions, Body Wars and Cranium Command) in the first place? Poor, poor Buzzy... :(
It looks like a place they can stick a bunch of unrelated IPs that have movies coming out and stealth advertise them. Play on Thor's magical rainbow slide!

I am seriously ticked off about WB turning my favorite kids show from the 60's into a "5 Nights at Freddy's" style horror film. The Banana Splits, among other things, introduced my generation to (in a pre-internet world) to Six Flags and Kings Island.

This is probably the most unimportant thing I've ever been upset about (and, being a Disney fan, that's saying something), but The Banana Splits were awesome (and parts of the show were directed by Richard Donner!)

Right on, brother.
I love the 'Banana Splits' too.
A early introduction to groovy 60s visuals and music, plus the fun live action segments of the costumed characters goofing around.
Made me want to get a dune buggy, and try to walk 'up' a big slide.
Loved that show as a kid.

What's this crazy talk about WB turning them into a 'horror film'...??
News to me.

If it helps to remove all of the random 'character spots' and other 'garbage' clogging up various venues, i'm all for it.
The Wonders of Life Pavilion has been 'dead' for ages and is sadly a wasted space unless a festival event is going on.

Of course, turning it into a fully fledged functioning Pavilion again with multiple Attraction experiences would have held more appeal and interest, but that was a longshot for today's Disney.
However, i cannot deny that one of the more positive aspects of this project will be that this will help resolve some of the 'placement' issues that have plagued Epcot since the dark times rolled over the place.
Random 'character spots', Ralph 'invading' the Imagination Pavilion, empty spaces being filled with 'filler'.....all of that will be moved over to the new spot once construction is done.
This in itself i see as a promising step.
Opens up those 'empty' areas and makes them available for what is coming down the road.
;)

Interested to see how this is developed, and executed.
If done right, it could be a nice plus.
We shall see.

Just announced a couple of days ago. Google "The Banana Splits" and prepare to gag. :(
Man... I remember collecting the Kellogg's hand puppets and sending away for the fan club kit. I have several of their songs on my iphone: 60's bubblegum pop at its best! :D

I didn't even know Epcot was this old. Who cares about WDW's history anyway, though?
I thank WDW Radio for opening my eyes to the fact that, yes, WDW does have fans who love the place as dearly as West Coasters love DL-- And, just as it is with DL fans, it's mainly due to a lifetime of good memories of family vacations. It's a different kind of history-- The history of a huge resort's development... but it's fascinating in its own way.

I have the Kellogg's 45 records of their music.
You could mail in boxtops in the 60s and get these cool vinyl singles in a groovy sleeve.

I wish Disneyland still had Mission to Mars, but this time give Mr. Johnson a mustache like at WDW. Definitely better than some restaurant with awful pizza.

You guys are so old.

Two days ago, I supposedly had a Birthday... But I still get 15% off at Denny's with my AARP card, plus can order off the Senior Menu!

And is COMPAQ even still in business?

Looked it up on Wikipedia, and the answer is NO...

>Compaq (a portmanteau of Compatibility And Quality, occasionally referred to as CQ prior to its final logo) was a company founded in 1982 that developed, sold, and supported computers and related products and services. Compaq produced some of the first IBM PC compatible computers, being the first company to legally reverse engineer the IBM Personal Computer.[1][2] It rose to become the largest supplier of PC systems during the 1990s before being overtaken by HP in 2001.[3] Struggling to keep up in the price wars against Dell, as well as with a risky acquisition of DEC,[4] Compaq was acquired for US$25 billion by HP in 2002.[5][6] The Compaq brand remained in use by HP for lower-end systems until 2013 when it was discontinued.[7] <<

But heck, I built my first computer....
