The Living Seas wall is DOWN!

Congrats Buzz! I've always wanted something like that to happen to me in the parks. Epcot needed a ride geared toward the kids and hopefully the general public will respond the same way you did. There just wasn't enough room to make a huge, classic ride, but it sounds like they did the best they could with their limitations.

Can't wait to ride it in the future.

Thanks! In my 8 years of going to Disney, this is the first time i've been lucky enough to time it just right! And you are exactly right. This is a great kid ride and is just what Epcot needed. And a great way to recycle an existing ride. The queue area is great. As we were walking through, my kids were yelling, HEY, i'm going to touch the butt. LOL

You TOTALLY jacked my avatar!

Seriously, though/ It's sort of taboo on a forum to take another's avatar without asking, especially when it's someone's artwork. In this case, it's a combination of an actual carved pumpkin, and a lighting effect in Photoshop for the flicker, but anyway.

It may sound petty, but people can get confused when people share the same av, so, can you grab something else?

Hey you guys! Man oh man, I was surprised at how many hits my little post has gotten :) Anyways, I have some bad news...my camera, with pictures and seagull movie, is dead. I don't know what's wrong with it, or why it won't turn on, but it is dead as a doornail. And yes, I changed the batteries!
Luckily, someone else posted pics, so this shouldn't be that big of a deal, but I still wanted to fill y'all in.

This is the 2nd camera that has died within 5 feet of me in the last week

Is the battery in backward/sideways/not-proper-like? You'd be suprised how often i do that and then freak out...

All else fails, if you cant fix it after some serious trouble shooting - smack it with you hand (a cable or something may be loose) and if that doesn't work - then smack it on a desk (what have you got to lose?) because with many digital cameras if the shutter jams it wont turn on.

But that's just my crazy advice, and only to be used if the camera is dead and wont turn on after all other attempts have failed and you're just gonna throw it out anyways.

Yeah, I checked the batteries several times, they're definately in the right direction...I haven't tried giving it any smack-age, though, let me go see if that works. Hopefully it does, because smacking is about as technical as my skills will allow me to get

Dang they work fast, I was just there yesterday, and I dont remember seeing the wall down on 10/8/06.

How unlucky, missed possible soft openings by one day.

Those clamobiles remind me of the old Horizons cabs. Could they possibly have recycled them at all for this attraction. They certainly do not look at all as if the used the old sea cabs to make these. Anyone know more?

All the clamobiles are brand new and much smaller than the old horizons cabs. Each cab is one of many different color schemes.

And for those wondering about the doors, they swivel out to the side

I LOVE IT!!!!! That video is great. I was laughing the entire time watching the seagulls. What a great idea to put them out there

I examined a few of the darker pics in photoshop...

The clammobiles open out their front face just like the old Horizons vehicles don't they? The little doors swing open in the front.

The sign outfront - it says "Supervise Children at all times" and "EVCs must transfer to Standard Wheelchair" right?
Indeed. This is a sideways orientated Omni, just like Horizons was. All the show scenes are on the outside of the loop. Ride maintainence and machinery are inside the loop. And no, they arn`t the Horizons ride vehicles. Sniff.

Was there yesterday around 4. I sat out for about an hour, but no luck. Even went inside for a while to see if the clams were moving or not (they weren't). The entire time I was there I didn't once get annoyed with the seagulls (now, the guests imitating the seagulls, THAT'S a different story...). Actually, after about an hour or so I was still laughing a little bit at them... mainly because each time they start "mine-ing" they do it differently. Okay, I take that back... I was actually cracking up at some points. They just turn their heads from side to side like idiots... really well done. It's especially impressive since it's something that has a great potential to be extremely annoying and poorly executed, but the imagineers did a really great job.

for those who were there today what is the background music loop for the concourse of the pavilion now? Was it the original living seas loop? nemo score? something new?

I didn't pay too much attention, but the only song I do remember hearing outside was Beyond the Sea. Not sure if it has always played since the initial Nemo overlay (since I believe it's on the soundtrack, correct me if I'm wrong), but it works really well. Reminds me of the old loop they had in Coral Reef with Whale of a Tale and Beside the Sea (I know they don't use it for lunch/dinner... is it still there during breakfast?) Anyway, in different places inside Seabase (namely upstairs... didn't really pay attention anywhere else) they are still using the original pavilion music (for now).
