Trip Report The Fairytale & Dream Come True-May 2013 DFTW/Honeymoon TR

The Fairytale & Dream Come True-May 2013 DFTW & Honeymoon Report

Welcome to the very best trip report EVER!!!!! I can’t believe I’m sitting here writing this when I’ve been married for over two months now…yep that’s right! I went down to the happiest place on earth and got married!! Oh aaaannd I went on my very first cruise! (Apologies to my cruise ladies…that was supposed to be my first cruise, but I made a cruise a first for me and my husband!) So thanks for tuning in and I hope you enjoy! Here we go!!!!!!

WHEN: May 18-May 28, 2013

WHERE: May 18-23: The Boardwalk Inn, May 23-26: Disney Dream, May 26-28: Art of Animation: Little Mermaid room

WHO: There were a lot of characters that made appearances during this trip! Myself, my now husband Mike (who hasn’t been to the world since he was 12 and he is now 26), Mom (who you know from my many previous trip reports), Dad (his first trip EVER and first time to FL), Memere & Pepere (my grandparents whom are lovers of Disney & resided in FL for a few winters), Aunt (tagged along to help the grandparents), Mom-in-law & Dad-in-law (Mike’s parents), Brother & his gf (Mike’s brother and his gf tagged along for the journey too! It was her first time to WDW and they had a blast!)

Now everyone pretty much came in on the 18th and left on the 22nd (except us). The other characters will make appearances in a few places but I’ll only post a picture of us for now.

Mike and I right after we got engaged in Seabrook, NH on the Beach on August 12, 2012.
IMG_4868_zpsd952d4e6.jpg

A little background on Mike and I and this decision before I begin…Mike and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We met in college through a mutual friend and the rest is history :) I knew there was something about him from the moment I laid eyes on him, and fortunately he felt the same about me. I did warn him about my Disney addiction way in the beginning & said if we get married it will be in Disney World. I guess he didn’t mind because well he let my dream come true! We were originally planning on getting married in March 2014, but since we were both already out of school and had full time jobs…we figured why not sooner! So about 7 months before the big day in October…we decided to get married in Disney World in May! We were so excited to get planning and thought it was so far away! But my, did the time come very fast! Thank you for tuning in and I hope you enjoy it!

Note: I did not take notes on this trip at all I was having too much fun to stop and write so this is going all from my pictures and memory!

During the wedding days of the trip, we used these awesome Times Guides that @HollyBelle made for us!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! Everyone loved them!!!

What a great Jack Sparrow!! Love the review of Palo, looks so pretty!

He definitely was, loved that he threw some scandalous comments in there, even with a few kids around! (granted he didnt say them loud enough for them to hear lol)

And it definitely was really pretty!

Animators Palate and Atlantis look very cool!

Animators Palate was really cool! I wish we didn't miss dinner there, but Palo was worth it! I'll find out how dinner is there in less than a month!

Atlantis was beautiful!!! Definitely worth a look down there some day!

Friday May 24th-Nassau, Bahamas

Good morning from the newlywed verandah!
IMG_8076_zps7411a95f.jpg

Okay, so I’ll be honest, I slept through the whole night and when I woke up I seriously forgot for a minute I was on a Disney Cruise ship…when I saw light peeking through the curtain I got up so fast and ran to the verandah. It was right after 730.
IMG_8078_zpsadd0e645.jpg

I spy land!
IMG_8081_zps4cacbf9e.jpg

We got ready and headed down for some breakfast. We decided to eat at Animator’s Palate for breakfast since we wouldn’t be going there that night for the dinner rotation.

I had the DCL breakfast, it was sooooooo yummmmy!
IMG_8095_zps0474513a.jpg

Mike had the Trio Platter and he loved his too!!!!
IMG_8096_zps1ae261c5.jpg

During breakfast, we had docked in Nassau. You could feel the boat pulling into dock. It was pretty cool to see the water in our glasses move, etc.

We got out in time to get in line for the 9 am Princess Gathering in the Atrium! Yes I can see princesses at the parks, but I wanted to see everyone on the ship!
IMG_8097_zpsa16d6a43.jpg

While we waited in line Peter Pan was greeting everyone…he was a buff one too…weird.
IMG_8104_zpsac740359.jpg

Sign me up for the breakfast trio!! YUM!!

And I had to laugh when I saw the Peter Pan picture because I remember commenting on your FB when you posted it about how cute I thought he was and Mike responded "well, thank you!!" haha

ahhhh! Nassau! Been there on 4 cruises already! Went to the Atlantis twice, once for a tour and beach access and another for the Dolphin Excursion in shallow water... I had fun, this year I wanted to shop but most stores were closed to observe a Commonwealth holiday (Victoria Day) so we ended up and Senor Frogs for food and drinks! Did a little shopping on the way back before going back onboard.

Can't wait for the Castaway Cay installment!

I was out of the country when you started writing this, so I am EXTREMELY late to this party. OMG, I have so much work to do this afternoon, and I am going to be so distracted by this TR.

Congratulations, and I can't wait to dig into this report! (in fact, I'm not gonna wait, I'm just going for it)

Yay love this!

Your "Eric" is a good sport - I don't think Andrew would be taking quite so many A) Kissing pictures and B) pictures where he isn't trying to make me laugh or being goofy.

...
I'm noticing your manicure in your FP picture.. I approve of and appreciate the "matching" to the wedding day outfit! Mine are purple right now (Essie "Sexy Divide" oh lala right?) and I'm loving it ahaha.

You have until next Tuesday to post about the wedding before I get distracted with Asia-land. HURRY :)

Jess, I am going to be annoying and reply as I'm reading, otherwise I will forget everything. I noticed a bunch of the same things as Kenzie mentioned here, so I'm "replying" to her post. :p

First of all, youse guys were smooching it up all over the Boardwalk!!! ;) :inlove: I love smoochie pictures, and my sweetie and I do them really well. For some reason, when they pose us with my hand on him, it looks like I'm trying to make him keep his distance, but when we do the kissy shots it's easy to see we like each other. :D My favorite is the near-silhouette shot under the arch, just a few photos after your favorite. Really cute idea with the Ariel-style dress. Oh, and I think I noticed one b/w shot where you look like you are both trying to keep a straight face... O.o

On your manicure, did anyone else notice the twinkle of pixie-dust on your thumbnail in the photo where you're holding the fastpasses? ;) Disney magic, right? LOL

The Wedding Day...as you and so many others have said, magical in every way!

Never mind the ceremony, your Bear made me cry! That photo of Mike--he looks ready for anything. PURPLE SHOES--love them!! Dad looks so cool walking you down the aisle. Your earrings are gorgeous. Pirates theme=great recessional music! Love the bench shots where you're showing off your shoes. Mike's already well-trained, holding your purse, LOL. And finally, OMG, that first MK photo--sunrise next to the castle--simply breathtaking.

All caught up! And the cruise portion is great preparation for three weeks from tomorrow!!

Wow! I guess theres a lot to do there, but not sure I'd get off at Nassau again personally. Nothing I really want to shop for there, rather enjoy the ship while evveryone is off. Hopefully next time you can some more shopping if it wont be a holiday!

And Castaway coming up next!!! :)

hahaha no worries! Reply away!

Awwww I think smoochies are my favorite, they just look too cute!!! hahaha was that the photo where we were sitting down and I was kind of leaning into him??? That was kind of a weird pose and well ya you can probably imagine why we were trying to keep a straight face on that one..

I tink you are the first one to make a comment about it! :) Disney magic at it's finest!

Thank you!!!! Awwww my Beary made you cry? He comes on every trip with me. No matter where we go. We just went to NH for a long weekend and he came with me. He will be with me on the cruise too! He'll be my Mike to snuggle with since he won't be there! But don't mind that my bear is not really white anymore...hes been through the washing machine a few times but it doesn't really matter anymore LOL. And you know something he has a music box in it and it plays "When you wish upon a star" and it's not even a Disney bear LOL

Thank you for all the kind comments!!! Can't believe our trip is right around the corner!

I felt the same overwhelming feeling on my first cruise. I saw all of the kids running around the pool deck and looked at Wes and said "I don't know if I am going to like this". Now I absolutely LOVE Disney cruises!

Your picture of that steak at Palo has me drooling over here. :hungry: Man, was that good!

Aren't those DCL Just Married buttons so cute?! I wish I could get married again just so I could wear them again. Hahahaha :hilarious: Don't tell Wes I said that. ;)

Saturday May 25th-CASTAWAY CAY

I woke up a little groggily…then the minute I saw the slightest of light peeking through the balcony window I got up and ran to the window, and this was what I saw!
IMG_8246_zps5e997401.jpg

We had an awesome view of the island, I was so excited!
IMG_8247_zps3667978c.jpg

IMG_8248_zpse89d85f2.jpg

We got dressed and headed for breakfast in the Enchanted Garden this morning…it was buffet and I definitely preferred the menu breakfast yesterday morning.

These seats are awesome!

I love the décor in this restaurant…so elegant!
IMG_8253_zps91eacfdd.jpg

Had to get me another picture of Admiral Duck!
IMG_8254_zpsaed5bb1c.jpg

During breakfast, people started to head off the boat and onto Castaway already while we had other plans….we dropped off everything in the room and put our bathing suits on. It was about 8:45 when we headed up on deck. We wanted to ride the Aquaduck! We figured everyone would be going onto Castaway Cay so we took this opportunity. We got a good two rides in, in less than 10 minutes! It was awesome!! We headed back to the room changed into dry bathing suits and headed down to the gangway!

We were so excited to be at Castaway! Here was the Post Office!

I love how they stacked the chairs
IMG_8280_zps52d2c5b2.jpg

We had been laying on the beach for a while and we were discussing about how cool it would be if Jack Sparrow just walked by like we were in the Caribbean. Well low and behold not even 10 minutes later here he comes! It was the COOLEST THING EVER. I didn’t have time to take the camera out but we talked about where our rum was (of course lol) and he continued on his merry way.
IMG_8281_zps5cf5641a.jpg

Even the chairs had the Disney Cruise Line insignia!

Seriously. If this isn’t paradise I don’t know what is.
IMG_8290_zps4a9e5c98.jpg

We headed out to the sand dune in the middle of the water. I couldn’t believe we could walk there and it never went past our chest! Well I didn’t walk there, my wonderful husband carried me out there…how romantic… :inlove:

We called it a day around 2pm and we headed for the BBQ going on! I had a burger loaded with Ranch dressing..it was so good!
IMG_8291_zps71c109b1.jpg

We saw our waiter from Palo the night before and talked to him for a little bit. We also ate quite a few ice cream cones before we caught the tram back.
IMG_8292_zps468285f7.jpg

We started heading back and I stopped at one of the shops to buy a castaway pin. I would have bought a shirt or something but I didn’t like any of the ones they had. Maybe next time!

At the end of the 9 holes I ended up winning by two strokes! 22 to 24! Whooo! MINI GOLF CHAMP. We headed back to our stateroom and got ready a little bit early, but we wanted to look nice when meeting characters!

First up was Minnie in her princess outfit, because the Princess Gathering was still going on down in the lobby, but she was cute! And she absolutely loved my ring and was so excited to see we were celebrating our marriage!

IMG_8334_zps690d8783.jpg

It was time to go meet Goofy in his formal wear!
IMG_8336_zps59042ecc.jpg

Before the show, we wandered around the shops where I spotted these Dooneys! I wanted one so bad that had DREAM on the front, but none of them did! I asked the lady at the desk and she said I wasn’t the first person to ask and she had gone through all the purses in the back…they didn’t have any with DREAM on the front. Maybe in September!
IMG_8337_zpse75c3de7.jpg

While we were walking into the show we spotted Donald! He loved me not Mike could you tell? LOL
IMG_8340_zps1fb58f6a.jpg

We went into the Walt Disney Theatre to watch “Believe” It was definitely our favorite show of the whole trip. It did not make me cry, but I just loved the entire story of making her dad believe. It was beautiful.

When we got out of the show, we saw the Captain giving a signing! I hopped in line while my amazing husband went and get our ship so he could sign it!
IMG_8341_zps9b76cc57.jpg

Captain Guus was so nice. He talked to us and congratulated us on our marriage, asking us where we got married and asking if we were having a great time. He was so sweet and we were so glad we met him! Thanks Captain Guus!
IMG_8343_zpsf02a4e49.jpg

Our signed ships!
IMG_8345_zpsea130655.jpg

We went back up to the room quick before dinner to put away our ship, we found this awesome Sea Turtle waiting for us!!
IMG_8344_zps68273a05.jpg

Oh and I am going to say here that our Cruise Director Christaan was hilarious. We watched that debarkation day procedure thing over a few times just because he made us laugh. I hope he is the cruise director when I go in September!

It was getting time for dinner so we headed down to the Enchanted Garden! We were so sad it was our last night on the ship :(

Beautiful Light

For dinner I had some soup as an appetizer, and I loved it so much I forgot to take a picture of it! Mike had lobster ravioli, which he liked a lot as well. For dinner, I can’t remember what he had…
IMG_8350_zps50267ab2.jpg

I had scallops that were really good!

Oh, crap, Kelly, I know why you've never seen the See Ya Real Soon Show. I'm freakin' crying just looking at the pictures here in Jess' TR!!!!

@PartOfYourWorld Jess, thanks so much for sharing all of this with us. Not that I wasn't already looking forward to our Girls Cruise, but seeing as it will be my first DCL cruise, I'm even more prepared. You all are going to have to have MAJOR tissues handy for me if I see this See Ya Real Soon thing in person...

Love the DCL pictures! I need to get my behind on one of them one of these days. I was trying to surprise Rich with a trip to Disneyland for his birthday in January, but the past couple of days he's been hinting at how he wishes he was in WDW, quoting attractions and saying, "What would we be doing if we were in Epcot right now?" So now it looks as if I may have to keep it on the east coast. But after looking at your photos, I'm wishing we were doing a Disney Cruise! Maybe for our anniversary next year :)

Aaaaaahh...isn't Castaway Cay the most amazing paradise???? It's so perfect!

You know, I've never seen the See Ya Real Soon show. I always say I'm gonna but then we don't. LOL!

OMG YES IT IS. Castaway is PERFECT.

And you're not missing much to be honest. The characters just do a little dance and then they show a video of people having fun on a Disney Cruise...I can't remember if they show pictures that were taken from our cruise though. But it DID make my cry because that was like the end all to our cruise  so maybe another reason you don't want to watch it.

Good thing you weren't wearing it yet!!!! Yikes!

That would not have been pleasant

Oh, crap, Kelly, I know why you've never seen the See Ya Real Soon Show. I'm freakin' crying just looking at the pictures here in Jess' TR!!!!

@PartOfYourWorld Jess, thanks so much for sharing all of this with us. Not that I wasn't already looking forward to our Girls Cruise, but seeing as it will be my first DCL cruise, I'm even more prepared. You all are going to have to have MAJOR tissues handy for me if I see this See Ya Real Soon thing in person...

yep! Exactly...water works a comin' but all in all the show really isn't much because I expected this big grand thing and It was a little video LOL. that still made me cry lol.

Of course! I love to share all my trips with everyone here! You are going to have an awesome time. I'm really happy I ended up going on one before this trip, because now I know what to expect! (And also happy to experience something that both my husband and I hadn't experienced). Can't wait!!!

You must suggest cruise to him..just show him my report! Maybe that will help! lol I saw that you posted earlier today (or yesterday cant remember now) that he would rather be in WDW. LOL. Funny because Mike said that to me the other day, when we were leaving NH over the weekend, he happened to see something of mine that was Disney and said, "now I really want to go back there. I can't wait until May" And he reiterated it to me a couple of times. We were originally going to go on another Disney Cruise, but he decided he would rather go back to Disney World for the whole week and also visit Universal one day maybe. But see if you can convince Rich for a cruise! Even if hes leery about it, try a 3 day...thats what we did! (well and because it fit perfectly into our schedule lol)
