Trip Report The Fairytale & Dream Come True-May 2013 DFTW/Honeymoon TR

The Fairytale & Dream Come True-May 2013 DFTW & Honeymoon Report

Welcome to the very best trip report EVER!!!!! I can’t believe I’m sitting here writing this when I’ve been married for over two months now…yep that’s right! I went down to the happiest place on earth and got married!! Oh aaaannd I went on my very first cruise! (Apologies to my cruise ladies…that was supposed to be my first cruise, but I made a cruise a first for me and my husband!) So thanks for tuning in and I hope you enjoy! Here we go!!!!!!

WHEN: May 18-May 28, 2013

WHERE: May 18-23: The Boardwalk Inn, May 23-26: Disney Dream, May 26-28: Art of Animation: Little Mermaid room

WHO: There were a lot of characters that made appearances during this trip! Myself, my now husband Mike (who hasn’t been to the world since he was 12 and he is now 26), Mom (who you know from my many previous trip reports), Dad (his first trip EVER and first time to FL), Memere & Pepere (my grandparents whom are lovers of Disney & resided in FL for a few winters), Aunt (tagged along to help the grandparents), Mom-in-law & Dad-in-law (Mike’s parents), Brother & his gf (Mike’s brother and his gf tagged along for the journey too! It was her first time to WDW and they had a blast!)

Now everyone pretty much came in on the 18th and left on the 22nd (except us). The other characters will make appearances in a few places but I’ll only post a picture of us for now.

Mike and I right after we got engaged in Seabrook, NH on the Beach on August 12, 2012.
IMG_4868_zpsd952d4e6.jpg

A little background on Mike and I and this decision before I begin…Mike and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We met in college through a mutual friend and the rest is history :) I knew there was something about him from the moment I laid eyes on him, and fortunately he felt the same about me. I did warn him about my Disney addiction way in the beginning & said if we get married it will be in Disney World. I guess he didn’t mind because well he let my dream come true! We were originally planning on getting married in March 2014, but since we were both already out of school and had full time jobs…we figured why not sooner! So about 7 months before the big day in October…we decided to get married in Disney World in May! We were so excited to get planning and thought it was so far away! But my, did the time come very fast! Thank you for tuning in and I hope you enjoy it!

Note: I did not take notes on this trip at all I was having too much fun to stop and write so this is going all from my pictures and memory!

During the wedding days of the trip, we used these awesome Times Guides that @HollyBelle made for us!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! Everyone loved them!!!

Just finished getting caught up on your TR! Soooo much to comment on! First, it was great to meet you and I can't wait to see you again in just a few weeks!!!
You were seriously STUNNING on your wedding day!! And Mike looked very dapper! Victoria and Alberta looked amazing. i would so be the one to knock things over. I loved the cruise portion, it's so fun to read about and see the things that we will be doing in three weeks!! I know what you mean about deluxe vs value. We stayed at AKL on one trip and the all star sports on the next. But we can go soooo much more often by staying at values, so we end up choosing values pretty often!

OK so I definitely teared up when you were talking about the last night on the ship :( I'm probably going to feel the same way on the last night of the cruise next month!

Still can't believe we forgot a picture!! we take pictures all day long and then we forget to take one together! GAH!! FAIL!!!

Can't wait to read the rest!! :)

Oh, man, I am going to be in big fat trouble when I see those shoe ornaments. I have a weakness for shoes... and those look really pretty.

LOL about the "downgrade" to value after getting used to deluxe service, but dang, the check in staff at AoA sure seem to have made it easy to notice the difference in the level of service. Boo. Resort looks amazing, though, especially the pictures of the room--holy smoke, the shower! What @WDW_Princess24 said, how could you resist singing in that shower!

Ryan and I said the same about the Values after being at Wilderness Lodge. I went from the, it's just somewhere to sleep mentality, to I'm not staying here again LOL. Although I do love me some AOA. How do you not belt out part of your world in that little mermaid shower lol :D

hahaha glad I'm not the only one that thinks the same now. AOA was nice, but good enough to stay there once. And yes I do have to agree about that part though :) "Look at this stuff...isn't it neat" :p

Oh no! It's almost over!
I was sad for you when you got off the ship! But it helps to be going back to WDW! :)
Isn't Atlantis beautiful? It's ginormous!
Palo looks yummy as always. We've had some quicker meals there and a lot that seem to take forever! Like you, we don't usually mind though.
Castaway Cay! Sigh.
I love that Jack Sparrow walked by right after you said that! Lol!
Great pictures of the Little Mermaid area too!

Awwww I was sad when we go off the ship too! But at least we had WDW to go back to!
And yes it is, I didn't realize how huge it was! It's crazy!
It's such a nice time to relax and enjoy each other in there, that we didn't mind at all!
Can't wait to go there so soooooon!!!!!
Thanks!!!!

yay! Thanks for reading!!! I can't wait to see you sooon either!!!!!!! And thank you!!!!!! It's true you can so so much more often by staying at a value, but recently..that hasn't been the case for us, been trying to get a nice discount to stay at the moderates or deluxes and making a point to spend more time at the resort.

OK so I definitely teared up when you were talking about the last night on the ship :( I'm probably going to feel the same way on the last night of the cruise next month!

awwww I know me too, but we haven't gotten there yet, so we won't think about that part!!! :) 19 more days until we head down!!!! :)

And I know right? We saw each other twice that night and FAILED both times. But this September that will not be the case ;)

Posting more after this! Then gotta get working on my fish extender gifts!!!

Love the Castaway Bay pics and the picture with the Captain! The food at Enchanted garden looks awesome. What a great report!

THanks!!! Maybe a cruise would be a nice compromise with Val? Disney and nice private island LOL

LOL Just couldn't help it...its how we honestly felt. ya that too...kinda stinky. but the resort did look beautiful. They did an awesome job. And definitely! I sang in that shower don't you worry! lol

Monday May 27th-Last Full Disney Day

This morning we got up, not early probably around 8. We took it easy this trip and got up when we felt like it and didn’t worry about not making it to a park.

This morning for breakfast was Art of Animation Waffles! (Where’s my Mickey Waffles!)
IMG_8549_zpsb6754e7f.jpg

First up on the agenda today is EPCOT!
IMG_8550_zpsa5551ef1.jpg

This trip, I definitely found another new appreciation for EPCOT. Mike really liked it a lot, especially since it was so close to the Boardwalk when we stayed there our room was 5 minutes away.
IMG_8551_zps3c59d2fa.jpg

We stopped in the Art of Disney Store and saw this beautiful painting.
IMG_8552_zpsbfe6b210.jpg

This was pretty cool too!
IMG_8553_zps7ccab455.jpg

IMG_8554_zps92f6d579.jpg

We stopped here and waited for 5-10 minutes just so I could get this shot!
IMG_8555_zps08507a25.jpg

We made our way into World Showcase with no particular destination in mind. Mike stopped me right here and said let’s stop and just enjoy this moment, because today is our last day, and this is one of the most beautiful spots here. So we pretty much did just that for a while just stood by a railing along World Showcase just enjoying and living in that moment. ::cue water works::: :cry::cry:
IMG_8556_zps3203cc26.jpg

IMG_8557_zps58fc3d68.jpg

IMG_8558_zps1ab08ff7.jpg

We moved on walking around World Showcase
IMG_8559_zpsbdf67964.jpg

IMG_8560_zpsf49204b0.jpg

Somewhere along there were a bunch of characters that came out…CHARACTER PALOOZA! But we were just excited to meet Rafiki!
IMG_8561_zpsec261885.jpg

IMG_8563_zps80eb4d6a.jpg

What a bunch of Monkeys
IMG_8564_zpsd52b3575.jpg

IMG_8565_zps6880afa6.jpg

We were hungry and not sure where to go, so we found our way over to Sunshine Seasons…we had some noodle stuff with chicken. The guy was really rude at the counter. There was a sign outside of the eating area that called the dish Thai chicken and then on the menu it called it someone else so I called it by Thai chicken and he had no idea what I was talking about and started getting angry with me, finally the guy with him said it was “this” and then he gave us our food. It was awful. I will never ever eat at Sunshine Seasons again..and it was funny because that was the first time I have ever eaten there before too.
IMG_8567_zpse1f54c1f.jpg

We made our way back towards the front of the park and on for one ride back on Spaceship Earth.

Just can’t get enough
IMG_8573_zps83a40d9e.jpg

Bye EPCOT, We’ll miss you!
IMG_8574_zps2ff57c5a.jpg

The Blue Monorail would be our transportation to the TTC!
IMG_8575_zpsfb7cbd0e.jpg

While we were waiting, these two birds were doing something very inappropriate…I think.
IMG_8576_zps3a447a6d.jpg

Here it comes!
IMG_8577_zps1954772c.jpg

Love this sign on the Monorail
IMG_8578_zps739c4fc7.jpg

We had a car to ourselves!
IMG_8579_zpsbbba06bc.jpg

When we got to the Magic Kingdom we decided to take the Ferry Boat over again. I love it! Here’s a shot of the Polynesian Beach.
IMG_8580_zpsa75ddd1e.jpg

IMG_8581_zps1f11599d.jpg

When we got into the Magic Kingdom we stopped in the Main St. Theatre because we had purchased an Ariel and Eric wedding clothes sketch to commemorate our wedding. Unfortunately, the artist ending up calling out sick because his mother had to be rushed to the hospital, and since we were leaving they said they were going to send it to us at no charge back home. Well a few weeks later we got surprised with a second Ariel and Eric sketch as well! Thank you to the artist who did that for us! They are now hanging in our home!!!!! :D

I’m not sure I remember where I took this picture from…
IMG_8582_zps13932bf1.jpg

We headed into Castle Couture and Sir Mickey’s!
IMG_8583_zpsd2ee34aa.jpg

IMG_8584_zpsd469fde8.jpg

I have never noticed this before in this store…
IMG_8585_zps63a7f825.jpg

IMG_8586_zpsdbea1c3c.jpg

We bought this beautiful picture in Sir Mickey’s! I have been looking for this one and it is now hanging proudly in our home!
IMG_8587_zpsf883ce3a.jpg

IMG_8588_zpsa7d18ceb.jpg

The Magic Kingdom was pretty crowded and we had time before we were meeting up with my amazing friend Shelley! @Fashionista007 so we headed into the Monster World!
IMG_8589_zpsa355360c.jpg

The show was really cute with the Monsters U overlay for the scenes. I hear that they have added more MU stuff to the queue! I actually liked MU a lot more than Monster’s Inc!

After our comedy show we went to sit by the Noodle Station to wait for @Fashionista007! I was so excited to see her and introduce her to Mike! We had a great time talking about our wedding, her trips, and everything in between! We both had dinner dates to get to so we parted our ways and headed off to our dinners!

Dinner tonight was at Be Our Guest for us! We both had high expectations for this meal, because I have heard great things! Well…would BOG live up to those expectations….you will just have to keep reading to find out!
IMG_8590_zps3a40ad9e.jpg

IMG_8591_zpsf7f6c420.jpg

IMG_8592_zps87385616.jpg

IMG_8593_zpsef7ccb8e.jpg

Once I took all those pictures and had our pager in hand, I tried to open the doors and go in, well I got yelled at by two cast members. I apologized but was frustrated because they all saw me walking to the door and just stared at me like I had 6 heads and I clearly didn’t know what to do. Also, there was no one else waiting outside so how was I supposed to know? Oh well. Right after I tried to barge through our pager went off anyways.

We were seated in the corner of the ballroom near the doors….not a good spot. I felt like I was in a quick service restaurant during the day. (which I have eaten here for lunch) but in my opinion for dinner, the seats are just waaaay too close to comfort to enjoy a nice dinner here, but anyways time will tell.
IMG_8594_zps804e4b73.jpg

It was also awful for taking pictures in here!
IMG_8595_zps7bd56999.jpg

The Menu
IMG_8596_zpsc8de5383.jpg

IMG_8597_zps1b8a0c8e.jpg

IMG_8599_zpsad2cb454.jpg

For starters, I had the French Onion Soup, which didn’t look appetizing at first glance, but it was pretty good. Not as good as I remembered when I had some for lunch.
IMG_8602_zps9213ee0d.jpg

For dinner we both ordered the Strip Steak…WELL DONE. Remember that. Now I know it’s hard to see in there, but I took my cell phone out and shone a light so I could see properly…that thing was PINK. Way too pink for my liking. Mike’s was also pink, but not as bad.
IMG_8603_zps983f05c8.jpg

I told our waitress nicely, and she apologized and would be back. Meanwhile, Mike ate his steak slowly trying to wait for mine.

While we were waiting Beast came out!
IMG_8604_zps0415543d.jpg

So after about 10 minutes, I had not seen our waitress and Mike’s steak was getting cold so I told him to just eat it. Finally, after 20 minutes and Mike finishing his food I got mine back and this is what it looked like…I guess this is what I get for sending it back….
IMG_8605_zps33ae8692.jpg

And now it was like charcoal, and I didn’t have my French fries which was the best part. So basically I didn’t eat any of it and told her I was done. At least we got the Grey Stuff! Which at this point I didn’t care and just wanted to get out. All it is is frosting anyways, but it was really good!
IMG_8606_zpsacaa6c75.jpg

We got our check, and unfortunately I had to pay for the steak that I barely ate. I could have put up a stink about it, but I didn’t want to be that person so we just paid the bill and went to see Beast!

Beast made up for the bad meal. When he saw my ring and just married button he shooed Mike out of the way and got down on one knee!
IMG_8608_zpsa8984cc4.jpg

He then got up and danced with me like he danced with Belle in the movie! The photographer and character attendant told him that Belle would not be happy if she found out because they had a date tonight! All Beast did was put his hand up to his mouth and shhh!
IMG_8609_zps6861c460.jpg

Leaving Be Our Guest, I don’t think I will be back here for Dinner in a looooong time. For lunch I have no problems coming back, but with the service taking forever and improperly cooked food, I will not be back for dinner. I think that is the first time I’ve ever had to send something back at a WDW restaurant. Oh well

I forgot to mention that when we were in Fantasyland earlier in the day, we grabbed some fastpasses for Peter Pan and we used them right after dinner!
IMG_8613_zpseafab464.jpg

It was around 8 o clock so we made our way back to the hub to grab our spot for the fireworks! Right on that little pathway between the hub and the plaza restaurant.

We watched Wishes but I didn’t take any pictures because I wanted to enjoy every last second of our trip. And of course during Wishes I bawled my eyes out. I just couldn’t believe this trip was coming to a close.

We waited for the crowds to thin out before we took a bus so we headed into Tomorrowland and rode our last rides of the night, the Peoplemover and Buzz! Where I won! :D

One last look at Cinderella Castle….
IMG_8635_zps7566c293.jpg

The line for AoA was crazy long, and POP had some standing room only so we squeezed right in on that bus and we were on our way! It was actually a very nice walk across generation gap bridge from POP to AoA.
IMG_8636_zps6a658048.jpg

I had been texting my friend @mamamouse all night and told her we would stop by since she was also staying in the Little Mermaid wing and had just came in earlier that day! We stopped in and chatted for a long time and it was really nice. See her trip report for some pictures! I’m so glad we stopped and had a good time! We said goodbye and we came back to this little surprise in our room! It was so thoughtful!

Thank you so very much! And thank you for reading my whole report! That really stinks they wouldn't let you take pictures inside the park. Granted I could imagine it would have been a lot of money like it is for Walt Disney World.

Thank you again! :)

It's time for my last post in this report...

Tuesday May 28th-Leaving Day

I couldn’t believe that today we were leaving to head back home. We got up around 9, our DME wasn’t coming until 2ish. We said goodbye to our Little Mermaid room, gave our luggage to the baggage check until our DME time and ate in the Lion King section for breakfast where we had our favorite Mickey egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on a bagel.

A few sketch close ups!

We wandered over into the Cars Section to take some pictures

The Cars section is definitely the most detailed and well done, but I have to say my favorite is still The Lion King and Little Mermaid.

We still had a few hours until DME came to pick us up, so we decided to take a bus to Hollywood Studios because we were going back to where it all began….

Walking by down that aisle…

What a beautiful sight.
IMG_8654_zps176ad2f7.jpg

We just sat on a bench on the beach along the Beach Club and just looked out over the Boardwalk…ya I pretty much lost it. We were so sad to be leaving, but we will be back for our 1 year anniversary….. :D (and me a few times in between!)

We made the sad walk back to Hollywood Studios for a bus back to AoA.
IMG_8658_zps82764e39.jpg

Before we knew it the Un-Magical Express came….
IMG_8660_zps189d1fd6.jpg

Time to go home, but we had a great trip and can’t wait to come back!
IMG_8662_zps71e2fa61.jpg

We made it to the airport and through security with no problems and plenty of time left. To keep the tradition alive from all of my previous trips…McDonalds is on the menu for lunch.
IMG_8664_zpsd0011b62.jpg

Our plane left 5 minutes late, but we made it back home with no problems just a little bumpy ride if I can remember correctly. We did come home though to some nice surprises! Welcome Home and Wedding balloons from my mom and a framed magnet of us on our wedding day from my Memere and Pepere. (The balloons are actually still in my house barely deflated and still floating in the air) . It made the homecoming a little sweeter.

Right now as I’m typing this I still have all my Disney receipts and such to go through from the trip. Not sure if I’m lazy, or I just don’t want it all to be over.

FINAL THOUGHTS
The Boardwalk-My new favorite resort by a landslide! Location, location, location, is the big thing here! I think the EPCOT resorts have become my favorite. Being able to walk to two parks and take the boat doesn’t get any better honestly.

AoA-Would I stay here again? Probably not. If I had to stay at a value, maybe. But I think from here on out I will never stay at a value resort again. There is nothing wrong with it, but I would rather pay the extra money to stay at Port Orleans or anything else. They did a really nice job with the décor and everything though.

Disney Cruise Line-OMG. I would 1000% do another cruise! The hospitality was just amazing I cannot say enough. Didn’t feel sea sick at all. You can feel the boat move yes, but it didn’t bother either of us. The food was nothing to write home about (except at Palo) and there is just sooo many things for you to do!

DFTW-Never had any problems throughout our whole wedding process! Everything was done right and I always had responses in a timely manner! Thank you!

Going to WDW in the month of May-This was the first time we went in May..would definitely do it again, especially for SWW!!! But I would avoid Memorial Day weekend…it was just CRAZY.

Last but not least, I want to thank each and everyone of you for reading this report and following along with me. Without you, I probably wouldn’t write one. I want to extend an extra special thank you to @Disneyfalcon for helping us out with this trip!! (Here’s to all the future trips!) @HollyBelle for doing what she did for me, as well as have Jason Angelini at her wedding and the fireworks cruise, because that’s where I got those ideas from to use Jason and to go on a Wishes cruise! (she did an Illumination one) @Fashionista007 for answering any question I had for her about DFTW throughout this process!!! And lastly a big thank you to @LuvsTheMouse for starting my love of Disney and never letting me give up on my dreams of having a fairytale wedding. Thanks Mom! I love you! (And to my husband -who will not read this most likely- for allowing us to get married down in the place where dreams come true!! He goes right along with my Disney craziness!!!!

Until next time folks! See ya on the Girl’s Cruise in September!!!!

Congrats on getting married and excellent trip report! Awesome photos at MK the day after. That would have been fun to do.

My wife and I did our honeymoon on the Fantasy last year in September. Almost did the wedding too but got talked out of it by the family. We are also celebrating our first anniversary with a trip to the World and will be down there the same time as you and some others after the cruise...

Hope to run into you guys and swap some stories!

TTFN!

TTFN!

You're welcome! :)

The Fantasy was awesome and we had a great time. I have a 3/4's finished trip report on it all...life got in the way of finishing it... We themed one of our showers Disney and the entire process from engagement to honeymoon was Disney-esque!

We are staying at Pop from the 12th-15th. The 14th is our anniversary... How bout you?
