The Fairytale & Dream Come True-May 2013 DFTW & Honeymoon Report​

Welcome to the very best trip report EVER!!!!! I can’t believe I’m sitting here writing this when I’ve been married for over two months now…yep that’s right! I went down to the happiest place on earth and got married!! Oh aaaannd I went on my very first cruise! (Apologies to my cruise ladies…that was supposed to be my first cruise, but I made a cruise a first for me and my husband!) So thanks for tuning in and I hope you enjoy! Here we go!!!!!!

WHEN: May 18-May 28, 2013

WHERE: May 18-23: The Boardwalk Inn, May 23-26: Disney Dream, May 26-28: Art of Animation: Little Mermaid room

WHO: There were a lot of characters that made appearances during this trip! Myself, my now husband Mike (who hasn’t been to the world since he was 12 and he is now 26), Mom (who you know from my many previous trip reports), Dad (his first trip EVER and first time to FL), Memere & Pepere (my grandparents whom are lovers of Disney & resided in FL for a few winters), Aunt (tagged along to help the grandparents), Mom-in-law & Dad-in-law (Mike’s parents), Brother & his gf (Mike’s brother and his gf tagged along for the journey too! It was her first time to WDW and they had a blast!)

Now everyone pretty much came in on the 18th and left on the 22nd (except us). The other characters will make appearances in a few places but I’ll only post a picture of us for now.

A little background on Mike and I and this decision before I begin…Mike and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We met in college through a mutual friend and the rest is history I knew there was something about him from the moment I laid eyes on him, and fortunately he felt the same about me. I did warn him about my Disney addiction way in the beginning & said if we get married it will be in Disney World. I guess he didn’t mind because well he let my dream come true! We were originally planning on getting married in March 2014, but since we were both already out of school and had full time jobs…we figured why not sooner! So about 7 months before the big day in October…we decided to get married in Disney World in May! We were so excited to get planning and thought it was so far away! But my, did the time come very fast! Thank you for tuning in and I hope you enjoy it!

Note: I did not take notes on this trip at all I was having too much fun to stop and write so this is going all from my pictures and memory!

During the wedding days of the trip, we used these awesome Times Guides that @HollyBelle made for us!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! Everyone loved them!!!

haha yay! Someone else who loved Christaan!!!!! We just couldn't stop laughing the more we watched that video...so funny! And no he did not do acrobatics before the shows!!!! That would have been awesome!!!! Glad you love it!

Sunday May 26th-Debarkation Day-but the beginning of the second leg at WDW

We were up bright and early to head off the ship. We said goodbye to our amazing stateroom and headed down to the gangway. We weren’t the only ones heading out early, and we were at the beginning of the hallway where Animators was.

The gangway opened at 7 to let us all off and we breezed through customs. We were one of the first families at the Walt Disney World transfers and we opted for a van, because we figured we would be waiting for a while for a bus to fill up. It took no longer than 10 minutes and we were already on our way….so sad to see the beautiful Disney Dream get further and further away from us….

But before we knew it we were seeing this sign again!

We went in and were taken away with the beautiful lobby!!!!

We checked-in but it turns out our room wasn’t ready. We were told we would get a text…but we’ll see about that.

We headed over to the food court so we could have some breakfast! Things were a little wobbly walking over…we still had our sea legs!

We grabbed our breakfast and sat in the Ariel section!

For breakfast we both had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a bagel. With MICKEY EGGS. I was sooooo excited about this!

I’m going to say here, it was a hard transition for us going from a Deluxe Resort, cruise then down to a value….ya I have to say I’m spoiled now and probably won’t stay at a Value Resort again….I guess the Boardwalk and the Disney Dream will do that to you….We were laughing how we got so used to having people wait on us hand and foot on the cruise that we realized we had to put our own plate away hahaha.

Since we had time to kill before our room was ready, Mike wanted to head to Downtown Disney! So we waited for a bus!...and waited…for about 20 minutes.

Our first stop once we got over to DtD was the Christmas Store! I had been looking everywhere for a wedding ornament, but everywhere on property was SOLD OUT. They couldn’t even get one online for me….so looks like I’ll be checking for one in September when we go. But I must say I love all these shoe ornaments they have been coming out with!

We headed into the Art Of Disney….I loved the pieces in here! I wish I could have all of them!

We ended up buying this and sending it home!

I also ended up purchasing a set up Mickey ears for a co-worker. He’s an older man who is almost ready to retire and I told him I would bring back Mickey ears for him…here they are being made! He was so excited when I brought it back for him!

Goofy’s Candy Co was next on the list and we drooled over all the yummy treats!

Looks like we went to Trend-D next but I didn’t buy anything!

But we did become Princesses in the World of Disney!

I remember buying a few things here, but not sure what.

We continued on our way to the Lego Store!

We moved on towards West Side to check out what was going on there, nothing much besides a man on a bench!

On a future trip I want to come hang out here!

We still hadn’t gotten a text about our room yet, but we headed back to the Marketplace and grabbed an ice cream at Ghiradelli!

We were getting bored at Downtown Disney and were itching to get to our Mermaid room. We headed back to the resort and figured we would give it a shot to see.

We headed towards the lobby and talked to an attendant. According to him our room had been ready for about 30 minutes…so much for that text. We went to see if our luggage was still there or had already been taken up to our room….we waited about 10-15 minutes for someone to come back out of the luggage area to tell us…oh we already took it up to your room…basically he went in to check and forgot about us..someone else had to check for us. Stupid.

So we made our way over to the Little mermaid section! Going past the Nemo Pool.

Unfortunately, after all this, our keys didn’t even work. We tried both of ours multiple times and kept getting the red light…so I was pretty unhappy that we had to walk all the way back to the lobby for them to tell us, oh they should work now, thanks now that I have to go all the way back where I just wanted to get to a park!

Our keys worked this time and in we went! This Mickey towel was very sad looking..it was so small!

We had a room with a king size bed so it looked like it was a handicapped room

Overall, we thought that the room was really cute, but there was already some noticeable damage and it’s not even a year old yet. On the wall near the window it had looked like someone took a black sharpie and made a long mark. And a few other minor things.

Out we went because we had a date with Hollywood Studios!

Did I mention I missed taking the boat over to Hollywood Studios? The bus is just not the same. The Studios was packed when we got there! The waits were all outrageous. Our first order of business was some food! We decided to try out the Caesar Salad Sandwich over at Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner!

The sandwich was HUGE but it was really good! I’d have it again!

We wandered around since the lines for everything were really long.

We went in just to cool off for a minute

Also working for a caterer that is voted #1 in the country for weddings under 200 (I am his right hand man and make sure the brides are taken care of to the fullest, we do many weddings a week)... your wedding was breath-taking and you looked stunning!

I wanted to meet Wreck-It-Ralph. I was hoping the line wasn’t too long, which luckily it wasn’t!

Vanellope loved my ring and was asking Ralph why she didn’t have one!

Mike wanted to watch the Hyper Space Hoopla again but from the front this time. We found some space and parked ourselves there…for almost 3 hours. But it was worth it!

We said our goodbyes to Hollywood Studios

And headed off to the Magic Kingdom!!! We arrived at the TTC and decided to take the ferry boat over. I love a nice relaxing boat ride.

We arrived and it was busy here as well!

We met up with @derelicte19 and her cousin at Casey’s before the fireworks. It was a mad house! We talked for a little bit then went our separate ways. We were watching the fireworks tomorrow so we went into Adventureland to get some stuff done!

Mike really wanted to meet the fairies so we went there.

Can you tell I just LOVE Tinkerbell..haha.

We stayed in Adventureland and went for a ride on Pirates!

Next up was the Jungle Cruise! I love it at night!

After our cruise, we needed to be replenished, we were famished! Luckily we caught Sunshine Tree Terrace before it closed and managed a Citrus Swirl!

We meandered into Fantasyland and saw Philarmagic!

We hung around New Fantasyland and took some pictures while waiting to meet up with @derelicte19.

We went for a ride on the Little Mermaid and we forgot to take a picture together! How could we!

We made our way out of the Magic Kingdom since it was just after midnight.

It was so empty in the lobby of AoA compared to earlier in the day.

We hit the sack because tomorrow was our last full day in Walt Disney World. We were so sad that our wedding/honeymoon trip was coming to an end. I don't want it to end!

Ryan and I said the same about the Values after being at Wilderness Lodge. I went from the, it's just somewhere to sleep mentality, to I'm not staying here again LOL. Although I do love me some AOA. How do you not belt out part of your world in that little mermaid shower lol

I was sad for you when you got off the ship! But it helps to be going back to WDW!
Isn't Atlantis beautiful? It's ginormous!
Palo looks yummy as always. We've had some quicker meals there and a lot that seem to take forever! Like you, we don't usually mind though.
