The Disneymooners...My Fantasy-tastic Disney Honeymoon!

Well friends, it's been about a month since my new wife and I disembarked from our 8 day honeymoon adventure to WDW and on the DCL Fantasy so I figured it was a perfect time to re-live it all for your reading enjoyment! With 500 pictures, three bags full of goodies, and countless memories, my wife and I had the time of our lives. I must say that this was the greatest way to kick off our lives together and I encourage everyone to try it...

Here are a few photos from our big day, September 14th... A lot of your wedding planning involved a Disney theme. Our showers, our wedding rehersal night as well as the wedding itself.

The wedding was fantastic and I couldn't have had a better experience if I tried. I married the love of my life and she shares the same passion for many of my interests and the biggest is an obvious one, Disney!

The planning for our wedding and honeymoon had a great assist from our(WDWMagic) fearless WDW/DCL guru, Tammy. She was instrumental in helping us plan for the honeymoon, but also helping our guests, friends and family contribute to our honeymoon, and for that Heather and I are greatly appreciative... Take a bow!! :)

After the wedding, we had to wait a long week for our honeymoon to begin. We counted the hours, minutes, and seconds to the day we were leaving, September 21st...We decided to wait a week after to get things in order for our time away and not have to leave the day after. It also allowed us to book our trip on the Fantasy and begin our "cruise career"(thanks sweetpee and hubs ;)) on the newest ship.

Many people encouraged us to fly down a night prior to the cruise in case of any misshaps and things, so we booked a night at All-Star Sports, where we stayed on our first WDW trip together, and then begin our cruise adventure the next day, Sept 22...

Sept 21st-4am was the "get up time" we decided on to get us to the airport for our 7am flight. Packing was finished the night before, so it was just a quick shower and jump in the car for the 45 minute ride to Midway Airport. We actually live 15 minutes from Chicago O'hare but Southwest flies there to Orlando and the fares were great for this time of year and no bag fees! :D We brought an extra garment bag for our suits and dresses so not paying an extra fee for the 3rd bag was good. Heather's dad got us there in no time(lead foot!). Check in and security was a breeze however the gate was at the other end of the terminal so we had to hoof it, thank God for moving walk ways...Got a bite to eat from our vacation staple food source, McDonalds and bought some water for the plane ride. He had about 25 minutes before boarding so we grabbed a seat and
relaxed...

Boarding was quick and painless buuuuut the departure was not! Details next!

OMG! I was soooo hoping you'd get picked for Match Your Mate! We had to do the dance off, too, but Tracey has the rhythm of a deaf person so that didn't exactly help us. LOL! I'm glad your MYM game sounded better than ours because even with the prodding of the cruise director and reminders it was adult-only right now, all 3 couples were totally holding back which made it not as funny as it could've been.

Soooo looking forward to Satellite Falls! Did that tend to draw in the mobs? Is it a place we need to try to get to early or during the first dinner seating???

Love love lovin' it, Billy!

Our show was absolutely hilarious... It was no holds barred! But Max was encouraging it to an extent, but the couples didn't hold back. Couple 3's wife was embarrassed but played along well. In retrospect, we thought that it was funnier with the couples up there. However, Couple 1 wasn't funny at all... But we had a good time there!

Satellite Falls was nice but not too crowded on the first day and we only made it up there one other time. We frequented Quiet Cove Pool and the deck right above it. Heather was complaining that the waterfall was noisy but maybe she has sensitive ears?????
I'm thinking that it wouldn't matter when you arrive up there, even the Quiet Cove pool wasn't that busy. We were able to find seating at any time we got there. The area right above it, directly in front of the Forward Funnel was a place we hung out a lot too.. It's not an"adult area" but kids were rarely there. There is a nice little wading pool that we liked...

Sept 23rd-Day 1 had been a great one and I woke up the next morning with a smile and a view!

The air was warm and the sea was as blue as ever! I had never seen anything like it!

The ship was really moving and the next two days would be at sea so after breakfast we planned on making the first day a pool fun day. I really wanted to try the Aqua Duck as soon as possible and of course the wife wanted to relax and tan it up by the pools... We made our way to Cabanas to have a good breakfast. I am not a huge breakfast eater, not that I hate the food, just my stomach doesnt function until around lunch time. But the selection was great, I stuck with the staples and so did Heather.

On our way back down to the state room we finally met our stateroom host. His name was Romeo, and he was from the Philipines. He talked to us about himself and we did the same about us for a bit. We also let Romeo know that, to no offence, named our dog Romeo..He got a kick out of it and he asked us if we needed anything at the moment but we didnt. Romeo was a huge help to us and was very attentive and did an awesome job the entire week and we let him know every chance we got. I had some good conversations with him during the week as well...

A quick change of uniform and we headed to the Pool Decks!

After hitting the drink stations on Deck 11 we found a great spot on Deck 12 for our first spin on the Aqua Duck...

The line wasnt very long so Heather and I headed to the entrance and up the stairs. We waited about 10 minutes to get on a tube but once we did it was a great ride. The first bit you shoot out over the side of the boat and down the flume and back up into the tube. Once you got to the other side of the tube, the ride turned into a lazy glide to the finish... We loved it and rode again later in the day.

We relocated to the Quiet Cove pool and Deck 12 forward where there was a small wading pool and a lot of lounge chairs directly in the warm sun! Heather and I took some more photos of us in this area but she will cut my hands off if I put any of them on this report, so I happily agreed not to... (yes dear:D). The small wading pool, which the name is escaping me, was techically not in the adult area but it wasn't frequented by kids most of the week. We met a couple from Canada and their 6 month old daughter and had some good conversation with them. We then wanted to grab a seat by the pool down stairs and get a few drinks at the Cove bar.

Romeo was awesome not only with this work but we talked with him every time we got a chance and he was very friendly. We took good care of him at the end of the cruise too...

The Cove pool was very relaxing and fun. The servers always make sure you are taken care of and if you needed a drink. Not too pushy but they were there for you when you needed them. The strawberry dacquiris and pina coladas were flowing and we were soaking up the sun... Lunch time crept up on us but we didnt want to rush to Cabanas because we figured it would be packed by now(around 1230) so I grabbed a few sandwiches for me and Heather from Flo's diner and had a quick bite to eat. I fell asleep right after that but I snapped a picture of the view. Rough life, I know..

Heather woke me up around 2 and said she wanted to check out Senses Spa and what it had offer and head back to the room. She signed up for a scalp treatment and massage for the next day. Heather owns a hair salon here in Illinois and she thought since she does those for her guests every day that she wanted one herself, for a change.

Headed back to the stateroom to get out of the hot sun and cool down for a while. Forgot to get a shot of the door for Tammy. She sent the Mickey ears for the door in her Kingdom Konsultant package and we needed to pay homage!
e46df6a9854499033148ec3be68fe286.jpg

The door also had a new sign on it from DVC. My mom and dad are DVC members and when we got in the room at night there was info saying "Welcome Members". So I was a bit confused as to why they sent that stuff, maybe they looked at the last name and sent it...

After a bit longer nap for the both of us, I woke up and got the IPad out and and relaxed on the verandah while Heather got ready for Formal Night. I knew I had some ironing to do for both of us before the night started so I checked a few times if our decks laundrette was available for use. It was only down the hall, but I had to walk down there a few times to see if the iron was being used. Third time was a charm after about 15 minutes wait and I got my suit and Heather's dress nice and pressed.

Tonight's dinner would be at Animator's Palate....we were very excited. Heather was anxious to see how the other guests were dressed. She got done around 7:00 so we headed down to the Atrium and see the goings on...The Princesses were out, fitting for formal night and the guests were very well dressed and ready for a great evening.
I grabbed us a drink at Bon Voyage and we had a seat and watched the fanfare...

You have me worried about the end of this cruise...:(

Love the Ears!! Woo hoo!

I bet they did think it was your parents. Especially if your Dad's name is Bill! Even when we're not sailing on points, they know we're onboard from the passenger manifest. Did you get the DVC gift?

Still enjoying this so much, Bill! I'm noticing a pink pattern with Heather.. gotta respect a girl with a love for hot pink (currently wearing my "teacher pink" because I have an Education presentation today and it's the first Wednesday of the month, where we pay homage to Mean Girls "On Wednesdays we wear PINK!" - lame but fun).

Your door and view are stellar, how could you not wake up with a smile!? And I love formal night.. you both looked great, and I'm with Heather - it's always fun to see what other people are wearing. You can never be overdressed (or over educated) as the saying goes!

Looking forward to what you think of the ports :) Hopefully you didn't get too squeamish on the ship at sea! I know on our Mexican Riviera cruise it was really moving..

I read all 4 pages of your report thus far late last night, but didn't want to post as I was afraid I wouldn't make much sense at 1 am! :D
My husband was born and raised in Park Ridge, so I'm thinking those must have been some super cheap tickets out of Midway! In 10 years we've only flown into/ out of Midway once coming from that side of Chicagoland and we swore never again. It is a HAUL to get to Midway from that side. We are O'hare all the way.
Your wife looked amazing on your wedding day - and those shoes!!! A total *gasp!* moment. So cool that you found them. And I loved the stickers on the bottom too.
Y'all looked amazing on formal night too.
Sort of jealous that you all got to experience the Satellite Falls. On one hand, I loved that area of the ship on the Dream just as it was - calm, breezy, relaxing. On the other, I think I would have enjoyed sitting there with my feet in the pool under the same conditions.
Can't wait to read more!

Thanks Kenz... Heather's favorite color is definately pink, hot pink... The pink in her hair is for breast cancer awareness. Her salon does hair extensions for 2 months for that cause. She raises a lot of money and she loves doing it.

There were some people dressed to the nines for sure on formal night...

That was one of the best parts of the day, waking up and seeing the sun shine and the blue ocean. The ports were awesome. But we didnt get to the first port until Tuesday, I got one more day at sea to finish on the report.

I was up watching the election, so I would have been able to see your response if you did! :D Glad you like it so far!
Heather and I live in Schaumburg, and it is definately easier to get to Ohare but Midway isn't too bad for us. But for Park Ridge, would be like walking out your front door right into the terminal...:) The prices were cheap but by today's standards on Southwest($295 RT) so you could call that fortunate...

Thanks for the compliments on the wedding...It was the best time ever and she did look awesome! That's why I married her!

We got our fill of sun and pool fun the other days, but Satellite Falls was a nice relaxing time even if it was cooler that day...
