The Disneymooners...My Fantasy-tastic Disney Honeymoon!

Well friends, it's been about a month since my new wife and I disembarked from our 8 day honeymoon adventure to WDW and on the DCL Fantasy so I figured it was a perfect time to re-live it all for your reading enjoyment! With 500 pictures, three bags full of goodies, and countless memories, my wife and I had the time of our lives. I must say that this was the greatest way to kick off our lives together and I encourage everyone to try it...

Here are a few photos from our big day, September 14th... A lot of your wedding planning involved a Disney theme. Our showers, our wedding rehersal night as well as the wedding itself.

The wedding was fantastic and I couldn't have had a better experience if I tried. I married the love of my life and she shares the same passion for many of my interests and the biggest is an obvious one, Disney!

The planning for our wedding and honeymoon had a great assist from our(WDWMagic) fearless WDW/DCL guru, Tammy. She was instrumental in helping us plan for the honeymoon, but also helping our guests, friends and family contribute to our honeymoon, and for that Heather and I are greatly appreciative... Take a bow!! :)

After the wedding, we had to wait a long week for our honeymoon to begin. We counted the hours, minutes, and seconds to the day we were leaving, September 21st...We decided to wait a week after to get things in order for our time away and not have to leave the day after. It also allowed us to book our trip on the Fantasy and begin our "cruise career"(thanks sweetpee and hubs ;)) on the newest ship.

Many people encouraged us to fly down a night prior to the cruise in case of any misshaps and things, so we booked a night at All-Star Sports, where we stayed on our first WDW trip together, and then begin our cruise adventure the next day, Sept 22...

Sept 21st-4am was the "get up time" we decided on to get us to the airport for our 7am flight. Packing was finished the night before, so it was just a quick shower and jump in the car for the 45 minute ride to Midway Airport. We actually live 15 minutes from Chicago O'hare but Southwest flies there to Orlando and the fares were great for this time of year and no bag fees! :D We brought an extra garment bag for our suits and dresses so not paying an extra fee for the 3rd bag was good. Heather's dad got us there in no time(lead foot!). Check in and security was a breeze however the gate was at the other end of the terminal so we had to hoof it, thank God for moving walk ways...Got a bite to eat from our vacation staple food source, McDonalds and bought some water for the plane ride. He had about 25 minutes before boarding so we grabbed a seat and
relaxed...

Boarding was quick and painless buuuuut the departure was not! Details next!

LOVING this report - best pre-work pump up a girl can have!

Heather's shoes are BALLIN' - the hot pink + sparkle heels are definitely hot. Legally Blonde-esque. You could do a solid bend and snap in those babies. Gettin' all the attention.

Your wedding photos are beautiful - congrats! So much happiness in those and the trip pictures as well.

This talk of Fastpass+ is really interesting - I'm not up on the whole process but it's interesting to see how it's working, and how it worked for you.

Gotta say, love that you have "cruise outfits" - and I know Kelly (@sweetpee_1993) will agree with me when I say that it becomes a problem.. when I go shopping now I look at clothes/dresses and say "that would be great for the cruise!". What cruise, Kenzie? You don't have a cruise booked.. BUT I WILL.

Aft jokes were popular on our family cruise last August.. "Move your aft" or "your aft is in the way" were two favourites between me and the sister.

Looking forward to more Fantasy pictures and more entertaining commentary.. just sitting here, giggling away..

Yes! Especially when there's this new-to-me "formal" night to consider. I could seriously be spending major bucks on stuff we haven't a prayer of wearing for anything else. This is why I'm leaning more towards a new standard for us: formal night=buffet dinner night.

Since I'm so directionally challenged anyway, when on a cruise I generally don't know my "aft" from a hole in the ground. :D

Eagerly waiting for the next installment!

Those round tubs are da bomb!!!!

Thanks Kenzie, glad to have you along... If you can believe it, I helped Heather pick those out...but she saw the Disney I Do on Pinterest, I think...

Wedding was awesome and I want to do it again and again..with Heather, of course

FP+ was a neat experience and I am looking forward to it future applications. It was a nice treat to have the CM's say "congrats on the honeymoon, etc" when you scanned your card..

Well I will say it wasn't a cruise "outfit" but a nice T-shirt no less...I dont want to be like Kelly too much(she's crazy...)JK!;)

Yes I am! With pride! I've long given up the matching tshirts. I think I got lazy. At this point the stuff I could get the boys to wear I wouldn't want to wear so no more matchy-match at least until the teenage cool-factor wears off, they have kids of their own (MANY years from now), and we can match 3 generations together. ;)

As we got into the stateroom, all of our shore excursion tickets, dining tickets and personal navigators were neatly laid out for us. As well at the gifts that our wedding guests were able to contribute, we got confirmation of those in the room. It was about 2-ish and we were starting to get hungry, so as soon as Heather was done with her business at the salon, we decided to head up to Cabanas for some lunch. We also wanted to tour the ship and get the lay of the land...Our bags hadnt made it to our room yet, but they were starting to be delivered on our hallway so we figured the time we were back they would be there...

A short walk to the ship's as...err..I mean, aft...and up to Deck 11 and the endless shrimp having goodness that is Cabanas:D ...One thing I did notice that for fans of the old chicken fingers that WDW used to serve, well..they have those on the Fantasy...so that, and all you can eat shrimp...I was in food heaven...So we grabbed a seat by the window and chowed down, well I did..Heather was a little more subtle in her eating...;)..Heather grabbed a "drink of the day" from the drink CM and got our liquor tab going for the week while I finished my lunch. We had about an hour before 4:30 muster drill so we started our tour of the Fantasy!

Browsed the shops, Mickey's Mainsail, Whitecaps and Sea Treasures...In Whitecaps are the luxury items and designer goods and liquor..also, basic sundries..I would have to hit that up later in the week for some sea sickness stuff....:( But I also spotted a watch that I had to have, a Micheal Kors chronograph watch and since it would be duty free I had to put it on my radar for later. I wanted to see what I could find at the ports before I made the call to purchase. It's dials made a perfect Mickey head but I am not sure it was its intention.. We scoped out a few other items we wanted to pick up for my daughter and family in Mickey's Mainsail and Sea Treasures and then checked out the Theatres, Walt Disney and Buena Vista.

As we made our way back to the stateroom, we started to see the "Robo-Cast Members" coming up the stairs to get in to their drill positions and we could hear the announcements from our cruise director, Brent getting us "excited" about the drill...So we headed back to the stateroom to drop our cameras off and check out where our assembly area would be. We were in Area I(eye) on port side. Pretty much directly under our stateroom on deck 3. By this time our bags had not arrived so we figured to head towards our area. We were directed by loads of CMs and had our Keys to the World swiped and checked and waited for the drill to begin...Took this from my phone...
90fe626fa4d6dd955332658a3748733c.jpg

Michael, our "drill instructor"(I forgot his actual title) sounded off on his megaphone and told us what to expect and to cover our ears at 4:30 as the alarm would be sounding...It was loud...Brent came on again and started the spiel and then his spanish counterpart repeated his lines...It was done in no time, and not a minute sooner because we were very close to each other lined up for the drill and I was gonna box some kid and his dad for talking and kicking me throughout the entire drill....

Calming down, we made our way to the stateroom to see if the bags were there yet, but they werent..No biggy..

It was "Sail away" time, so we decided that we would change into our swim suits and hit the pools for a bit...Grabbed some drinks at the drink stations and checked out the party!

Woot! Sailaway time!!! Tracey is addicted to going to Galveston every Saturday afternoon to be on the dock listening to the sail away party on the Magic. LOL! He's sick, I tell you! Sick!

Y'all covered some serious ground exploring before the muster drill! Good job! You got me worrying for you on the luggage not there yet. I think I waaaaay overstress when it comes to the luggage arrival on embarkation day. I'm sure our room steward thinks there's something seriously wrong with me with how fixated I get. I'm not going to be able to relax until I know every piece is there and accounted for! LOL!

We just wanted to get the clothes put of there! Some hadn't moved since that Thursday before we left! Two of our bags came when we got back from the pool after sail away. Our third came about 30 minutes later...

If I lived near the port I would do the same thing! I am sure he needs experience like that for his cruise career resume....

I have some time to kill before my weekend gets crazy, and I have 7 days worth of TR left so I want to finish off the first day/night for ya'll....(i sounded like sweetpee for a sec there:D)

We took up a great spot on Deck 13's adult area, near the cool Satelite Falls..Great place to be when pulling away from the dock! Clouds were rolling in and the sun was about to go down, so we just waded in the pool and grabbed a drink from Currents bar while the ship pulled away! Next stop Sint Maartin! The first two days we would be at sea so the next stop would really be the Atlantic Ocean... We went through the port and waved at the people along the dock...I think there was a group of people waving at the live webcam too as I remembered Kelly mentioning that on her TR. Pretty soon we were clear of the bouy and my first cruise had really begun!

We hung around the adult area for about an hour and I was getting used to the slight movement of the ship. That movement would become a problem later in the week...:(

Heather and I chose the later dinner seating at 8:15 so we had some time to relax and enjoy the area. At about 6:30 we headed back to the stateroom for another bag check and to clean up for dinner. When we got back to the room the first two bags had been delivered..Score! So unpacking would be part of the time we spent before dinner...

A few shots of the evening sky...

Our first night dinner was at Royal Court...

Royal Court is on Deck 3 Mid, and near Guest Services. We wanted to verify all of our credits and things were there and ask a few questions, so we headed down to the Atrium and grabbed a drink at Bon Voyage, the Atrium watering hole and Guest services.

We checked out the menu and right at 8:15, one of the servers came out and started to hand out the wet wipes and opening up the flood gates!

All of the hosts and some servers lined up in the front to take the guests to their assigned tables. We were assigned Table 115 and two great servers, Pete, from Jamaica and Ian from the Philipines..This cultural combination would be a recuring theme for Heather and I during the cruise...Details later!

Pete took our drink orders and introduced himself and Ian to us as well as his other tables...We were the first ones that came in for his tables so he got them pretty quick. We were always early or right on time for dinner, for obvious reasons but also so we could catch all of the adult activities each night.

Royal Court is a regal themed restaurant and had mosaic murals of Disney Princesses on the wall.Table 115 was right by this great mural...

The other tables in our section filled up as well as the rest of the restaurant. Heather ordered the french onion soup and I had the iced lobster and jumbo shrimp for starters...Did I mention my love for shrimp yet?:) Heather liked the soup but mentioned it was a bit too salty for her..I finished it for her and didn't notice it...My app was great and the bread service was nice as well. The bread baskets are shaped as Cinderella's coach, a nice touch...

Peter took our main course order at the same time as the appetizer so I ordered the Beef Tenderloin Filet and Grilled Shrimp(No surprise there!) and so did Heather. Nothing else on the menu caught our eye, so we stuck with just those two entrees..later in the week we also tried to share other selections on the menu at the other restaurants...Our steaks were very good and were accompanied by potatos and veggies...Good choice!

Another drink round for us after dinner and then I had the strawberry shortcake sundae for dessert and she had a Grand Marnier souffle..She really liked it!

Pete had mentioned earlier that he would provide a great service this night and as the week rolled on he would get to know us a little better. We were cool with that as were new to the whole thing..He previewed the next evenings dinner at Animator's Palate...

Before we went to dinner, I scanned the Personal Navigator to see what adult activities were going on tonight. The Tube, a London England themed club in Europa, the club and bar area was having a game show at 10:30 so we decided to head there after dinner...We finished up or drinks and headed to Deck 4 aft and Europa!!

A couple pints of Stella for us while we waited for the game show..."Match your Mate" was the name of show, it was exactly like the "Newlywed Game"...We took a seat near the front of the stage in hopes we may be chosen for the game...

Right at 10:30, our adult activities director, Max came out and gave us a roaring start to the show. Max is from Scotland and was very entertaining and funny and really got the audience going. So firstly, he explained the show, which was as I said like the Newlywed game. Max asked for couples that were just most recently married first! BOOM! Here we go! Heather and I were excited....until....a couple right in front of Max rasied their hands and he asked them how long they have been married, and the said "one day"... DARNIT!! That beat our week long marriage, but Max did ask us and then said maybe there would still be a chance. Next, he asked for the couple that has been married the longest. A few responses and he narrowed it down to a 30 year marrige. The last couple would be picked by the audience. He invited three couples, one was me and Heather! Still a shot! We were to have a dance off for the last spot! So the music began and we, one by one, had a little shake and then the audience picked...Now, if it was down to dance quality, Heather and I would have easily got the pick....however..there was a couple who was absolutely hilarious and awkward and it was a close call between us and them..and they got picked on the count of their hilarity!:D We were greatful for the opportunity!
cba715d34d92988324df9182e253c1bd.jpg

Couple 1 was the most recent, couple 2 was the audience pick and 3 was the longest marriage...The show was very funny and dirty at some times, and Max reminded us that it was a Disney cruise sans children, so anything goes!!! Couple 2 was absolutly hilarious(alcohol does that to some people) and they won the game on the count of points, but certainly deserved the prize! A couple's spa day at Senses!

After the show, the DJ kicked in and there was a good crowd out dancing the night away..Heather and I were getting close to the end of our ropes for the day, so we decided to call it a night... Awesome first day on the Fantasy and that was only the beginning of our honeymoon!
