The Disneymooners...My Fantasy-tastic Disney Honeymoon!

Well friends, it's been about a month since my new wife and I disembarked from our 8 day honeymoon adventure to WDW and on the DCL Fantasy so I figured it was a perfect time to re-live it all for your reading enjoyment! With 500 pictures, three bags full of goodies, and countless memories, my wife and I had the time of our lives. I must say that this was the greatest way to kick off our lives together and I encourage everyone to try it...

Here are a few photos from our big day, September 14th... A lot of your wedding planning involved a Disney theme. Our showers, our wedding rehersal night as well as the wedding itself.

The wedding was fantastic and I couldn't have had a better experience if I tried. I married the love of my life and she shares the same passion for many of my interests and the biggest is an obvious one, Disney!

The planning for our wedding and honeymoon had a great assist from our(WDWMagic) fearless WDW/DCL guru, Tammy. She was instrumental in helping us plan for the honeymoon, but also helping our guests, friends and family contribute to our honeymoon, and for that Heather and I are greatly appreciative... Take a bow!! :)

After the wedding, we had to wait a long week for our honeymoon to begin. We counted the hours, minutes, and seconds to the day we were leaving, September 21st...We decided to wait a week after to get things in order for our time away and not have to leave the day after. It also allowed us to book our trip on the Fantasy and begin our "cruise career"(thanks sweetpee and hubs ;)) on the newest ship.

Many people encouraged us to fly down a night prior to the cruise in case of any misshaps and things, so we booked a night at All-Star Sports, where we stayed on our first WDW trip together, and then begin our cruise adventure the next day, Sept 22...

Sept 21st-4am was the "get up time" we decided on to get us to the airport for our 7am flight. Packing was finished the night before, so it was just a quick shower and jump in the car for the 45 minute ride to Midway Airport. We actually live 15 minutes from Chicago O'hare but Southwest flies there to Orlando and the fares were great for this time of year and no bag fees! :D We brought an extra garment bag for our suits and dresses so not paying an extra fee for the 3rd bag was good. Heather's dad got us there in no time(lead foot!). Check in and security was a breeze however the gate was at the other end of the terminal so we had to hoof it, thank God for moving walk ways...Got a bite to eat from our vacation staple food source, McDonalds and bought some water for the plane ride. He had about 25 minutes before boarding so we grabbed a seat and
relaxed...

Boarding was quick and painless buuuuut the departure was not! Details next!

I have a bit of time to get another installment in (for Sweetpee;))...

Sept 27th-
Sleep in morning!! Well sorta... Today was a full day at sea and we had brunch reservations at Palo around noon, so we didn't need to get up for breakfast. We planned on going for another brisk walk on deck 3 and grab some lite bites from Cabanas when we woke up. After all of the wonderful fare on the ship we had, a good workout walk was in order... This time we did a bit of jogging about halfway around the ship... We saw a few runners/walkers that we did earlier in the week and had a few conversations with them...

Heather and I were looking forward to brunch and we quickly finished our walk and headed up to get ready. Tammy highly recommened it to us and it didn't disappoint!

We were seated right by the window so we could see the blue sky and sea going by... Micheal, our server from dinner was once again helping us today. He led us over to their wonderful buffet and told us all about our choices for the day. The buffet had breads, meats, shirmp, crablegs, caviar and the like.. You were also able to choose a hot entree that was served to your table. I opted for spicy italian sausage flatbread and Heather had chicken parmesean. Micheal brought some mimosas for us to sip on..Very nice! The food was excellent especially the seafood. My flatbread was very spicy and I could hardly eat it. I thought the sausage would be spicy but it was the entire pizza. Not a big deal 'cause there was plenty of shrimp and crab legs at the buffet!!

We needed a pic of the ships ....err, I mean aft ;)

There was a few things going on around the ship that we wanted to do, trivia in O'Gills and some photo ops... Heather wanted to hang out today and not go to the pool as we would be at Castaway the next day. I suggested heading up to Goofy's sports deck and play mini golf...

Now before we started, she said she wanted to play for real, so like every great husband, I said "ok dear, we'll play for real"..Little did I know that she meant it... She kicked my AFT!

She won! and for real! Not the husband letting his wife win,win..I mean she beat me....
After me kicking her butt on Buzz Lightyear earlier in the week, this brought me back down to earth :)
We headed to O'Gills for 50 movie quotes trivia and have Heather's celebratory drink.. We got there kind of early and watched the tail end of the Mixology class going on.. We had a few beers while watching the guests make martinis and mixed drinks...We tried a shot or two offered to us by the participants. Trivia time was at 4.30 and people started to file in to have a go at the prize. Heather and I did pretty well this time around and got 4th, but the guy that we thought was cheating was there again and low and behold, won again..What can you do.???

Dinner tonight was the Capitan's Gala at Enchanted Garden so we headed back to the room for a bit and got in a quick nap...

Awesome! I love Palo brunch best. Breakfast food is prob'ly my favorite so I can honestly say I like Palo brunch better than Palo dinner. Plus, Palo brunch doesn't take me as long as the dinner does which is another plus. ;)

Haha! Heather kicked your aft at Goofy Golf! Woot! That's awesome! Isn't that mini-golf course the neatest thing ever??? We only played high-wind, late-night, tipsy Goofy Golf which I plan to make right next chance I get. Heehee!

Awwwww...probable-cheating-guy sucks. Glad y'all still had fun. And naps. Naps at sea are the bestest ever.

I loved it as well, but a close second to dinner there. Both meals were fantastic and you can't beat the view of the sea!

Haha! I suggested some night tipsy golf but we never made it up there, if you know what I mean ;). Super fun though, mini golf on the back of a ship, watching the wake go by... Loved it..

Yeah the guy cheated with his daughter on a game that night too... They came in late and claimed they did well... BS if you ask me, but there was no prize so, they got it stuck up their aft!

We headed down to dinner around 7.30 and grabbed a drink at Bon Voyage and sat out on deck 3 for a while.
Dinner was at Enchanted Garden with the Captain's Gala menu, which meant Lobster!!!!

I was super excited for lobster so much that I had two full tails...They were served with rice and beans but Pete got me another tail by itself. Heather enjoyed the Fettucini and Parmesan chicken and Minestrone soup. I had some soup as well. The lobster was awesome and if I wasn't so full I would have had a few more tails... I had a sherbet sundae and Heather had the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Both were very good...

After dinner we headed down to the Tube for the scavenger hunt and dancing...The scavenger hunt wasnt like most would think but it was very fun. Max, our entertainment director split the room into about 8 teams. We hooked up with a few other tables. We were given a number and then he called out random items that we were to bring up to show him to gain points. He would call out our numbers and his assistant, Brandon would keep score. He called things like tattoos, 6 left shoes, lipsticks, gum wrappers,etc... He asked for car keys and only one person got up and got the points for it. Max then asked, "why in the world do you have your car keys on you whilst on the cruise"??? She was a bit embarrassed but claimed they were still in her purse.. Pretty funny..We had a great time and our team was second place because the car keys lady got first for her team...

By this time, we had got to know a server at the Tube, Carlos so he was very attentive to me and Heather and helped us out with our drinks the rest of the night. We stuck around for a while to dance and have drinks. Every other night or so they would have 2 for 1 drinks so we thought that was grounds for extending our time there;)

We called it a night around 2 as we were "feeling good" and were anxiously awaiting our next day at Castaway Cay!!
