We go back the third week of August. The week before school is our county fair. Growing up those of us in 4-H/FFA had to load our animals, tack and equipment on Sunday (the last day of the fair and everything had to stay in place until 8 pm) then we started school the next morning. By the time we were done clearing out the fair barn, a twenty minute drive home, unloading trailers and bedding down our animals in our barn, we wouldn't get to sleep until 1 a.m. It was fun though it was hard work.
FFA jackets were all over my HS.
Memories.
