Flan is okay, cheesecake is okay in small doses, and chocolate cake is...:hungover:

I actually got a semi-fancy dessert tonight. Key Lime tart from Boardwalk Bakery. Key Lime pie is one of the exceptions; I love that.

My parents shared a cupcake and my brother got a cookie. So the non-fancy dessert thing must also just be my family.

Salted Caramel Ganache from the Boardwalk Bakery is amazing. Stick a fork through the ganache and a soft salt caramel joins the thin cake as it oozes out. Yum.

It looks rather simple just sitting there. Ha! :hungry:

I love dessert but I rarely eat dessert. And I am like you, I tend to like it all, or most of it anyhow. Not too fond of Jellied fruit things though. Chocolate, I'm in. Mousse, cupcake, salted caramel coated in dark chocolate I'm in. I use to love those Oreo Bon Bons at Cafe May. :hungry: Via Napole has these lovely donut holes served with a creamer of melted chocolate and a creamer of fresh cream to dip them in. Oh my goodness.

RIP Oreo Bon Bons

You think he'd be used to it, but Hubby was appalled when I spoon-ate and then finger-licked the remaining chocolate sauce on our last trip. Truth be told, I could have easily just straight-up drunk a refill.

Canadians must still live "back in the day".
Most of us call it a "housecoat" for the gals; "robes" for men.

I've heard the term housecoat but I've never heard it used. Even in some of the higher end resorts we've stayed in around the country always have robes in the the closet, never seen it referred to as a complimentary house coat. Wonder if it goes back to the days when heat wasn't what it is now and people wore layers indoors in cold weather.

This video is especially funny to me, as Hubby has two recently retired cop brothers.
I can't imagine either one of them doing this.
One is a miserable SOB, who referred to himself as a garbage man - as in, all he dealt with was human garbage.
And the other is a stiff, stick-up-the-behind type.

Anyway, enjoy:

I on the other hand required a refill of the fresh whipped cream. It was like a little squirt this time vs the time before. As soon as he put it down I told him I was going to be needing some more of that. :inlove:

Okay, for future reference, we'll just order double of BOTH!

Via Napoli was merely "okay" this trip ... likely not going to make the final cut on our next trip.
Probably going to try Teppan Edo instead.
Yachtsman and Narcoossee's are our new favourite 1/2, bumping The Wave down to number 3.

On the news this evening:

Man caught on a Walmart security camera filming up her skirt.

So creepy.

My DD was at Macy's trying on work clothes a few weeks ago. In the room next to her was a guy in there with his wife. They have those shutter type doors and a foot off the floor partitions. I went and asked for a manager and security telling them I had my daughter next to these people. The sales lady pounded on the door and told him to get out immediately or she was calling the police. He came out saying she just wanted him to give opinions and the sales lady said that is why there was a couch outside the changing area.

They had this problem at the waterpark where my DD and DS managed a couple years ago in the family dressing room. They now have floor to ceiling partitions in all family locker rooms. Targets by us have gone to this too.

Creepity People everywhere.

Well, the desserts at Teppan Edo are nothing special, but the rest of the meal is always fantastic.

I've never understood the love for Via Nappoli. I can get better pizza at a place two minutes from me, and it's not nearly as expensive. My dad had it for this trip, but cancelled it after none of us really wanted to eat there.

I was very disappointed in the quality slip of Via Napoli this last trip too. But not the dessert.

I agree. Probably one of the worst dessert options of TS.

The entrees are so good at Teppan Edo. I've never ordered dessert there, one I'm too full and the best thing was a scoop of mediocre ice cream. Pass.

Ditto. The food was still good, but the restaurant was noisy, strewn with un-cleared tables, and kids running around everywhere.
Hubby says we didn't have a single bad meal this trip; but in his ranking, Via Napoli came in last.
I think I have to agree.

My one Korean friend says that, at least in Korea, dessert is not even a thing, so my guess is that Japan is similar in that respect, hence the poor desserts. They have a shave ice stand downstairs, so I'm good.

Time for tea, a little Janet Evanovich, and an early night.
Up again at 5:30 for one kid, 6:30 for the other. Hubby offers, but his inability to go back to bed renders that unfair IMO.
Good night Peeps.

@StarWarsGirl95 - keep the pics and reports coming.

Hopefully we get some new BAH pics tomorrow! I was pleasantly surprised there was progress this morning.

Boy, that marker sure helps ya feel more secure though. They could use a different marker other than a toothpick though.
Just so surprised that someone hurt themselves with it.

Although my dad used to take it and poke me and say "Here's your allergy shot!" So I guess people figured out how to do something stupid with it.

My dad is very mature FYI.

That looks like too much chocolate...

It is very deceptive to look at. There is the thin layer of ganache on top. Then there is very thin wall and a thin bottom of cake. Then there is this wondrous ooohie gooie salt caramel hiding behind the chocolate. It is amazing is you love fresh, real caramel like I do.

Here is a photo I found of the Disney food blog cracking theirs open.

OK I'm going to upload a photo of the the crowd expectations for you by date and park, plus the overall combo.

View attachment 79847

Note: The Second half of your trip is Presidents Day Weekend. It varies but for our school district that is a 4-5 day weekend as we combo it with teacher institute days. Many families bolt for warmth that weekend. Add in you have Valentines Day Weekend too that same weekend.

I'd be doing every E ticket you'd want to ride those first 4 days. As you pick an AK day I found unless there is EMHs that park is pretty empty by 3pm.
EMH?

is the S in the image for hollywood studios right?

I think I will do MK on the 11 and AK on the 12.. the rest.. well depends if I have time left lol.

Oh, more proof that Disney deals with stupid people on a regular basis.

For allergies, when they prepare the allergy-free dishes, they put a toothpick-like stick that says Allergy in the food. They used to just leave it in the food when served. We've come home with a collection of them; I have no idea why my dad likes saving them.

At BOG, when my food came out, they said that they have to take those away now. Apparently, someone hurt themselves with it.o_O
how does someone hurt themselves with a toothpick? sounds like a dumb excuse from a classic suehappy fraudster.
