Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Is she really a member of Mensa? (I think my membership must have gotten lost in the mail . . .)

Yeah, she is proud of it but never speaks of it, she was admitted early under the Gifted Youth qualifications. The organization has its pro and cons and it is a membership where after you are accepted you must pay dues to.
While applying to Universities it is a plus, jobs that could go either way as it is looked at some as an obnoxious organisation. She was for the most part mute until she was 3.5 years old so discovering how bright she was during her 4th year despite the therapy multiple times a week to teach her to speak was kinda overwhelming to me. She continues to amaze me everyday. She grew up to be a bright, intelligent young woman. Dang I enjoyed her graduations from both High School and College.

Did you know you can still apply to Mensa with your previous scores?

You know what I think is going on? The Land used to be a peacefui oasis (before Soarin was added). I probably would have noticed table top details back then, as I was mesmerized the the beauty of that pavilion, looking up at the hot air balloons gently moving, the fountain in the middle of the room, etc.

But now, the place is just mobbed and noisy, with so many extra people who come for Soarin; and it's a battle just to find an empty seat somewhere. So all the subtleties (such as the design on the table tops now), are
lost on me . . .

So old that I remember the old kiosk area of Seasons. It was always dead in there.

I'm happy you're happy. :)

When I woke up this morning, I saw on the news that the Pats won a game last night, too, so I think they're the team that plays in a Super Bowl (whenever that is). I'm happy for local people who follow football, but I can't stand listening to days on end of conversations about it at work, until that final big game. Luckily, today is the holiday, and I'm off from work today, so don't have to listen to it.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
That looks delicious! I would only modify it slightly by getting rid of the sesame seed bun and replacing with a plain, white bread one; and I'm not sure what kind of peppers those are, so I might bypass those. What I really like, though, is adding some chopped onions--never thought of that before. :hungry:
For hot dogs and hamburgs, my dad used to chop up onions, put them in a bowl, and add a bit of vegetable oil and salt and pepper. Sooooo good.
Any leftovers, could be fried up the next day and added to whatever ... leftover potatoes, eggs, steak ....

Off from work, and yet you're up at 5:30. You be crazy, girl!

Your DD is very impressive. I can honestly say I never knew anyone who was a member of Mensa, but I have known some highly intelligent people, and I guess they probably just never thought to apply.
