Question: does the fan help some while wearing the mask? This heat is killing me wearing a mask.

Yes, and no..unfortunately.

Yes, because you can fan your face to cool it down.. but that doesn’t really help with the breathing.
I have a high tolerance for being hot and uncomfortable, but even I got dizzy after a while. We left for about an hour to go get Chipotle and eat in the car, just so we could have a mask break in the AC. We were in line for a ride when I decided I just couldn’t do it any longer, I wasn’t feeling well.
The break helped, and we went back in time for 3 more rides and then the 4th of July fireworks display.

One thing with Cedar Fair’s new Covid policies- No shows. So no break for AC unless you’re eating at one of 3 indoor restaurants, but it’s nearly impossible to find seating with the social distancing , we had to stand with our trays for about 5 minutes before seeing someone get up. Also, you are only allowed to remove the mask to eat, then it must go right back on... not too much of a break.

We had a great time despite the masks and heat, but I don’t think we’ll go too often, nor to any outdoor places that require a mask the entire time.
I don’t know how it could work at WDW... I think a lot of people are going to suffer dehydration, heat exhaustion, or heat stroke

War zone and 3 different parties with large sound systems:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: I have to be out of the house early tomorrow morning:mad: Early by my standards;)

Well, that's obnoxious. Intermittent fireworks here from 9 - maybe 11:00. Gave dog his (vet prescribed) meds to calm him down. At least with the air conditioner on in the bedroom, it drowned out some of the noise.

But on a happier note, Figgy, did the boys see Joey Chestnut win the Nathan's Coney Island hot dog eating contest again??!! :joyfull: (I think it was carried via ESPN on Saturday. Due to covid restrictions, no large crowds allowed.)

Below text from CNN:

Joey Chestnut gobbled down 75 weiners and buns in 10 minutes to win his 13th title. Somewhere around the 8-minute mark, Chestnut made history by eating his 1,000th career dog. :p

Don't know how you two managed the heat. :jawdrop: But, very happy that you and T had a fun day together. You always seem to find fun activities that you can both enjoy.

I read your post ahead and saw the photos of the "live" fireworks. That was a great way to end your day as well.

Meanwhile back here, I watched on TV last night some shows about the 4th including the Capitol 4th (PBS); Macy's 4th of July show; a local show here with an orchestra; and, a variety show of entertainers and Wash.DC fireworks on CNN. I kept flipping channels so I could cherry pick the performances, etc. The only thing is that it's never quite the same watching fireworks on a TV screen, versus "live" outdoor events.

The boys never miss a chance to watch their hero eat:rolleyes: I've tried explaining to them he doesn't eat like that everyday, hasn't worked yet:banghead::banghead::banghead: Which is why I'm rope dropping the supermarket with a sprained ankle and no sleep

Wet grass. It's not bad at all, just a little sore but I have it wrapped and my dh will do all the lifting. Thank goodness it's a short list to get us through until Wednesday's farm market. If avocados and citrus weren't on the list I would have been able to send him.
Hmmm... Just curious is that injury going to mysteriously be healed as soon as the heavy lifting is done? ;)

The fireworks lasted about 25 minutes, was a really great show and soundtrack. We didn’t have the best spot, still good enough, though!

This is the only night the park is doing fireworks, at least in July. Every other night closes at 7pm, from what I’ve seen. Have no idea what August will be like.

Glad you could get on the coasters you wanted to ride and you got to enjoy fireworks. I watched the fireworks from DC on tv last night. My 2 younger kids were running around the outside of our house watching fireworks that people were shooting off.

I feel like I'm in the middle of a war zone.

But on the bright side, I celebrated my night with a British TV show episode. 😂 Which I do every year.

It literally felt like Beirut here last night... my house, yard and car are full of debris, and we didn't do any fireworks. I was outside at one point and the neighbor across the street did a big fountain that reign debris and hit me right in the eye... it was in the corner, and no damage done thank goodness... but I had to be a meanie and tell him he needed to push it back to his yard, and not in the middle of the street.

Not too many people shoot off fireworks here, just some for about 20 minutes around 10pm. The people shooting them off were the two members of the city council that live on my street. Kapono wasn't a fan of the noise but I got some good snuggles from her as she was looking for safety.

Fireworks started before dark here. Don’t know why people spend all that money and do not wait until dark to shoot them off. It lasted until midnight. People spent a ton on these because it looked liked disney around here!

Right? We have a neighbor that kept shooting the loud ones off during the day.... why? I can't even imagine how much people spend on fireworks. To me that's like smoking... light a dollar bill on fire... same result!
