Same thing could be said about AE with the power.

Hey. Would you mind elaborating on that just a little bit. I don't understand what you mean "with the power". Thanks.

Stitch is supposed to be the most expensive AA in disney history. This beg one more question. Is he called Stitch or Experiment 626?

Both, actually, which I found weird. Upon arrival, he's identified by the computer as 626, but when he starts running around the chamber, he calls himself Stitch...which, according to the movie, he didn't get that name until Lilo gave it to him...but that's thinking too much, and besides, when was Disney ever concerned w/ continuity :p That, and "Expermiment 626's Great Escape" doesn't have the same ring to it.

I finally got in stitch today, and I'm not 100% about it. It was a very well executed and very pretty... waste of time. The AA's are great, but the comments are lame (ie- It's my Mother In Law! from AE). I'm sorry, but fighting over a Chili Dog isn't funny. I also don't like how they did NOT stick to the Lilo and Stitch story line, from the movie, to the sequel, to the animated series, but rather picked and chose what details to keep and omit.

And no pics from me... I wasn't even able to pull my camera out of my pocket without the CM telling me no photography was allowed. Maybe next time.

Not Impressed At All

I was fortunate to get to ride SGE on 10/24. I took my 4 year old with me and I hate to say but he was scared to death! He shook the entire time. He was in tears as we left. I also noticed that several CM's were escorting guests off during the show as their little ones were also scared. It took me over 3 hours to get my son to go on any other rides. I really felt I was in AE alll over again. I have to say but I give this one two thumbs down. I would have thought that disney would have tailored this one a little more to the kids. I talked to a CM and she told me that there have been several complaints that the ride was too scary for the kids. Hope this information helps!!!

IMO, i found it was tailored towards kids. Looked more at the 8-13 year old set.... 4 seems a little young for this type of attraction.

The attraction, while tamed down, still uses the EXACT same technology as AE. Thus, you must be prepared for dark spaces, loud noises, and other effects.

The didn't reinvent the wheel here...as Dave said, 4 seems a tad young.

But if it's too scary for the under 5 set, and according to several reviews, pretty lame for anyone over ten, just who did they do this for?? Sounds like they now have an attraction for a very limited group--those ages 5-10. While I'm a believer that not every ride needs to be for everyone, that seems like a pretty small target group.

It's too bad that SGE is so technically similar to AE. I know that I would have enjoyed the show more if I hadn't been constantly comparing it with its predecessor. I imagine that those who weren't all that familiar with AE or perhaps had never even seen it will love the show. It is still very different from any other show out there, and it's a pretty fun one at that.

I also was fortunate enough to be in Tomorrowland when SGE opened on 10/24. It was our last day so after a week of continually pestering cast members standing by the cue and especially after the "screening" was down on 10/20, we were ecstatic about being able to experience the attraction. We actually went twice. I'm still on the fence - I loved AE, but I also love the Lilo/Stitch movies and shows. I thought it had a lot of long, dark periods where smaller kids could be scared, but during those times, Stitch is making comments so you can hear him. I think if you hadn't seen AE, this would be fine. My husband did not like it - he's an AE fan. My son, however, who thinks Stitch is the best character to ever come out of Disney (he's mid-teens) LOVED it and would have went again and again if we wanted to stand in line. The story kind of leaves you hanging. They show Stitch at Tomorrowland in an Astro Orbiter and he jumps off - I think they should have sent us "recruits" out to find him at WDW, but instead they just "release" us. Since this was a special sneek peek, maybe they'll change the end? I kind of doubt it. The other thing they need to do is explain right away about the shoulder harnesses - those of us who have experienced AE know that they are going to come down by themselves. I noticed many, many people trying to pull them down when they first sat down. Also a warning - those in the front seats are going to get the most spit on them!

All in all, it's a good attraction, better if you haven't been on AE.

I miss AE as well...it was fun, but I think I can see the Stitch show a few times per day as apposed to AE, which I'd usually do once or twice. I found the shoulder restraints applied a bit too much pressure for me when Stitch bounced around the room.

I don't think a 13 year old would enjoy it, but would find it rather boring, IMO...Stitch seems to be more popular with the younger crowd anyways.

We'll just have to see what happens after it opens to the general public.

I am sure it will appeal to Stitch fans as well. Like I said before the AA is supposed to be the best. I mean AE the alien looked rather well....Fake.

Youre .... well, quite Biased in your opinion. (Thats as polite as i can put it)

Most kids havent ridden nor heard of AE. They are there for stitch and stitch alone. You just seem more content with bashing the ride then realising that someone might actually enjoy the attraction.

And BTW... I saw all these old, red seats and restraints from the old chambers just sitting around backstage destined for scrap. AE is dead and gone. Get over it.

I don't know why AE fans are not allowed to have an opinion on SGE. I can't say anything bad about it because I haven't seen it, but NemoRocks has seen it. He wasn't comparing it to AE in that post. He simply said that he thought that 13 year olds might think it is too "kiddy" for them. And he even said that Stitch is more popular among the younger crowd. It IS possible for someone to make unbaised points about something.

Again I'm not talking about ME, I'm talking about others that may have liked AE better than SGE (And they have seen both).

I'm not personally attacking you, but it's really upsetting to me to see all these posts (not just from you) that make it seem that all AE fans are just bitter and that's why they are giving SGE negative reviews. I think those are the people that need to get over it.

Agreed....I like Alien I wouldn't miss it when ever I am there. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

In what way was I bashing the attraction in my last post? All I said was that I didn't think 13 year olds wouldn't like it because they may find it quite 'lame'....doesn't sound like "bashing" to me. And yes, I do realize that there are people who will enjoy it. In fact, I truly hope that guests DO enjoy it. If not, then, well, it was a waste of money and a perfectly good attraction could have lived on for years to come.

DX, great post. I also don't seem to understand why we must be criticized for our own opinions on the attraction....I don't come out here and sumbit posts criticizing one for not liking Journey Into Imagination with Figment or The Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management just because I liked it and they didn't......

(BTW, they have the seats on eBay right now....going for $24.95 if I'm not mistaken)

Yep. And if I hadn't spent that money on Tennessee vs South Carolina tickets, I would have already bought one of them. It sucks being a poor college student
