Man, seeing that just makes me happy.
D23 should be good...And it would help them out too.
Let me get this straight. Jason Surrell is the man behind:

-Who Wants to be a Millionare?
-American Idol experince
-The stitch show in tomorrowland that everyone hated
-An unused idea to turn the driver in the great movie ride into a generic film geek

Does not inspire much confidence im affraid.
Oy...Interesting...:dazzle:
I'm still not sure why the skeptics refuse to see that things are changing. When you look at DCA, the movies Disney has in the pipeline, the new DVC's in Hawaii/DC, it's quite apparent that the efforts of the Iger administration are starting to go from concept to drawing board to reality. Yes it has taken time. Quality always does.
Disney is fine. It's WDW that isn't.

-Everything George Lucas has been involved with since 1989 has been garbage

But EVERYTHING he's had any association with in the theme parks has been absolutely perfect, IMO. From Captain EO (for it's time haters ;) ) to Star Tours to Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (although it's time for a change) to the Indiana Jones Adventure (Best attraction in Disneyland) to of course his somewhat limited involvement in Alien Encounter (Best attraction to ever be in any park ;) ), I have full faith in any attraction with the Lucas name.

Well said! I have faith in Star Tours 2, I really think it will be great.

Also, as far as prequel references go, I doubt it will be completely prequal oriented but will contain references to places, aliens, and people from the prequals most likely.

I have heard it will be a journey though all six. Icky, IMHO...:dazzle:

They picked an interesting time to announce it especially since the science fiction genre is enjoying a major revial thanks to the films Star Trek, District 9, Moon, Avatar and next year's Tron 2.

This decade was predominatly dominated by the fantasy genre with the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter headlining. On top of that the SW prequels blew which didn't help the cause at all .

Are you operating under the assumption that it will be announced at the D23 Expo, or did I miss the announcement?

Jason is a talented guy. I don't think you base a man's career on a few projects like Stitch's Dance Party (or whatever it was called) when he was only part of it ... when everyone from Francois Leroiux to Phil 'Why can't I just park the Escalade on Main Street' Holmes and many others had to sign off on it.

The buzz on ST2.0 is very good. While I believe in seeing something before I judge it, I trust the folks who have told me. It should be a wonderful transfromation, but it's still going to be a simulator ride when all is said and done.

And anyone here who speaks JTese? I'd love to know what the hotel projects in Hawaii and D.C. (which may not happen for years!) possibly have to do with WDW ...

Everything.

The quality you see going into DCA and the new DVC's are very indicative of what is in store for WDW. And shining examples of the standards being set by Iger and Co. Liberty Square was only an appetizer for WDW. :slurp:

You do realize that it was only by the ingenuity of the Imagineers that HM turned out as well as it did, and not because of some Godsend budget, right?

Just look at the Space refurb for all the "standards" of Igar and Co.:brick:

Stay tuned.

I see the wallpaper story is reaching legendary status now. While a great chapter, it's only a very small piece of the HM restoration. And "ingenuity" is what Imagineers get paid for. It's their job. So let's have a bit of perspective.

I really can't wait to hear your defense of the new and not improved Space Mountain, jt. It should be one for the ages.

I've already posted it but will again.

Eddie Sotto told us less than 1 in 5 guests to the MK experience Space. I believe the project was scaled back and those funds are being used to benefit more guests elsewhere in the MK. Perhaps a new Fantasyland or the over the top Jungle Cruise enhancements that are rumored. Or both

Time will tell.

Are we even getting a SM track replacement to make te ride smoother? That'd be worth A LOT.
Yes.

Inpart, but also because it was one attraction dear to the heart of the esteemed leader of the MK.
