i agree with most of your points. I will say however that you can let your guard down a bit with ST2. It will be one of the better attractions to come out of Glendale in over 10 years. I realize that isn't saying much but from what I've seen ST2 is a nice concept; from creative to hardware i think you may be pleasantly surprised.

Sounds good.

It's kinda sad how back in the late 80s and 90s, Disney was the king of simulators and 3-D effect films. Now that those technologies are dated, Disney is still searching for a new niche besides rehabs of popular attractions. Hollywood Studios is a good example of how what use to be amazing (Muppet Vision, Star Tours) are now very dated and a lot less interesting (I still really like both). Toy Story Midway Mania is Disney's first step to making better hybrid attractions. Maybe Star Tours 2 will bring the traditional simulator back into the spotlight. I'd like to see it...

I agree. I hope this update gets ST back to where it was. Coasters and dark rides just tend to be more timeless.

Agreed. Anyone know of any other things that could be coming to MGM Studios.

A monsters inc. coaster and a redo of the Great movie ride were in the cards for awhile but the monsters inc. coaster has been cancelled and the Great movie ride refurb has been put on hold.

A new version of Star Tours and the removal of that big ugly hat are the only things to look foward to at the Studios in the near future.

Man, I hate all the hot air in here...It's all stinky, and hazy, and smells like stupidity and crushed souls...

Somebody turn a fan on!

Surrell is also behind the awful GMR script updates a few years back. We have him to thank for such awful lines as " Mummies....the world's first rap stars to make it in the movies!" and "No it's not George of the Jungle...it's Tarzan!"
