So you assume people haven’t read them? Why would you assume such a thing? On basic fact, affirmative action is discrimination. As an aside, and you call your bluff on your hyperbolic posting, can you please show me a post that says racism doesn’t exist? I will wait patiently

Your points are goal post moving at best. Using a source like the one that was provided, to substantiate any point, makes it less credible. Specifically, when one looks at the bias of that source.
If you acknowledge racism still exists, shouldn't we put in place programs to assist the people who are being disadvantaged by the racism? Or do the racists not discriminate when it comes to jobs and educational opportunities?

You are conflating issues. Just because it exists- doesn’t mean that people are being victimized in some sort of institution. You are conflating racism & institutional or systemic racism, which I do not see evidence of.

Further- the burden of proof is on you to provide evidence that any minorities are discriminated against in jobs/ college acceptance etc... I think you’ll find, the data won’t help you much.

So the Disney company was emboldened to be racist by rereleasing a "white supremacist" film, because Ronald Regan opposed affirmative action? (as that's the only example you give that was done or publicly known of in 1986)
White supremacism was more popular in the USA back in the 1980's. We've matured more as a country, although I will admit, that's a hard one to prove considering our current POTUS. But our current POTUS does prove that white supremacists are still heavy political players with the evangelical right leading the way. Trump loves to court them.

Aw well, this thread had a good run on the Disneyland sub-forum for a decent period while it lasted.

You said racism was the norm in the United States, can you please cite a source where the majority of Americans were racist (and I'm not looking for "X famous person was secretly racist!")

What does any of this have to do with the log flume ride with the singing/talking animals?

People are racist, but there are no consequences of the racism? I'm not sure what the burden of proof is on a Disney forum.

Evidence? Anything showing that your statements are based in fact?
There's a difference between proving a fact (evoking burden of proof) and supporting an opinion. After reading the posts above this one, I realize I stepped in something I shouldn't have. Let's just say I disagree with your assertion that "On basic fact, affirmative action is discrimination" and leave it at that.

Discrimination is discrimination, regardless of who it targets or favors.

Fair enough- we can respectfully disagree :)

Will The Denver Post suffice?:

That’s not a Denver Post article. It’s an AP opinion piece that ran in the Denver post.

The article was written by Russell Contreras of the Associated Press and appeared in The Denver Post. Perhaps you do not understand how the AP works. The AP is a nonprofit news agency that is owned by affiliated newspapers, television and radio stations in the United States. The AP shares news stories among its members.

And contrary to your assertion, this is a news story, not an opinion piece. Most people recognize that the many cold and hard facts in the article make that abundantly clear. Aside from the fact that the subheading at the top of the article states in bold red letters, "NEWS".

And here are two more sources for you to complain about:

You seem to disagree with the facts presented and you feel entitled to make up your own facts and call the article an "opinion piece". That is a common tactic of the alternative right.

I wasn’t complaining, merely pointing out you were wrong. You still are. It is an AP editorial piece masquerading as news that ran in the Denver Post. “Ran rampant” is an opinion. Whether you or I agree with it is irrelevant...because it remains an opinion.

Asking if the Denver Post would suffice is either a mistake or disingenuous, as the source is the AP. The Post, like others, run articles from other sources. It doesn’t make the Post the source.
