What is a Dumbo Spinner:shrug: and why does it make you want to hurt people?:)

A dumbo spinner is any type of spinning center spoke type ride, (dumbo, carpets, dino)

The reasons they are violent is the spinning ride is cheap, hastly put together, and in the case of aladdin get in the way of traffic flow to an area

Everyone seems to know that the new land at DAK is a go, on hold but ready, any day now, imminent, etc., etc. All good news.

However, anyone able to say what that new land is actually going to be yet?

So far, the Beastly Journey to the Center of Australia seems to be the most popular rumor.

My moneys on Journey.

Sorry Insider, but I just do not foresee any sort of monorail expansion unless the materials and construction methods are radically changed to save costs. And then we would have to see a reworking of the existing infrastructure in order to cope with additional destinations.

Note I said that it has a possibility within the next decade... not that its being built in the next five. Besides that, the junction point to DHS is extremely short in distance.

As for the new land in Animal Kingdom, the plans have always been Beastly Kingdom in the southwestern plot and Australia in the far northern plot. I'm not privy to which is being built at this point, but I've heard various people say that Beastly Kingdom isn't going to happen so I lean more towards Australia.

I just want to know what ride we would get. DAK needs rides. Not more exhibits.

Just to speculate.....

Volcanoes are more "South America", whereas 20K is more "Austrailia".

Now if I were boss, I'd convert Dinoland to Austrailia, keeping Dinosaur, Nemo and the fossil dig, and replacing Dinorama with exhibits, shops, eateries and a new animal trail.

I'd blow everything out of Dinoland except Dinosaur and have the remains scorched with acid and blown into deep space. Then I'd make Dinoland a real themed forest Dinosaur themed, and make it a small land within in a land, Beastly Kingdom.

Dinoland would be awful if it was some kind of cheezy prehistoric Jurassic Park...

I've always loved man's fascination and exploitation of Dinosaur mythos rather then trying to replicate the ACTUAL time. Countdown was it for me, even though the ride is awful now...

I like your idea better!

I wouldn't expect any of these things just yet ... most ... eventually ... some not at all.

Star Tours will likely be the first because it is done. It just needs a resort to say 'do it.' So it will definitely happen. Monsters coaster is as good as definite, but timing on that is more iffy.

I'm still not sold on Mermaid happening at MK, despite the fact I can already see Rasulo citing it as a great example of why the ONE-DISNEY reorg is so smart and savvy.

Imagination has died and been reborn so many times, I could see it never happening ... same with the whole F-Lans redo.

DAK will get its expansion land. It really has to. But since construction was slated to begin a while ago, I'm betting this may be put off for years right now.

Monorail expansion? HAHAHHAHHAHHAHHAHHA!!!!

I'd love it. And it gets tossed around every 5-6 years and then dies as more magical buses join the fleet.

There's a route laid out for expansion, footers were even planted because Eisner and Wells planned on expanding the system by the mid-90s, with a second station at EPCOT with a spur to the Studios and one for the EPCOT Resorts ... I actually saw the plans many moons ago and if I recall correctly the Resort station was basically across from the YC Convention Center (no fanbois, it was never going through the Swan and Dolphin, sorry!)

But I'd say there's a better chance of the Dow hitting 5,000 or 'W' admitting he may have made a mistake in the last eight years than there is of having any monorail expansion in the next decade. Not happening. Put a fork in it!

It's the same one that's been in place since DHS was built...
`74 is right - the original MGM monorail spur was from Epcot, psssing either side of The Land, behind the Y&B, between the S&D and the Boardwalk to a station in the parking lot behind Indy. As for timeframe... how long is a piece of string? TDO know the traffic situation on the road network will just get worse but there`s a zillion things to do first.

I think all of that would be awesome if it actually happened...especially a Fantasy land refurb. I love it no matter what, but I think adding some rides/shows that are based on more recent movies would be awesome.

Or maybe something involving Cinderella more... it's her castle after all!

I'll second this, but let's go farther.

Completing the park clockwise starting with Camp Minnie-Mickey (CMM).

CMM becomes North America, Brownstone National Park to be specific, with a Grizzly Peak Ski Lift Coaster and animal trails.

Then our next stop is South America, ala Rio Escondido, with an Amazon River Ride and/or a water flume waterfall ride.

Africa gets Pride Rock for the Legend of the Lion King.

Conservation Station becomes Europe themed with Jules Verne, HG Wells and Cryptozoology. (Mysterious Island rides could still be adapted to this). Throw in Mount Prometheus or the Matterhorn (it's different enough) and we're golden.

Asia gets a few touch ups.

Dinoland becomes Australia with Ayer's Rock/Uluru.

Add back in the Discovery River Boats and a Nighttime Water Parade and you have an amazing stateside park to rival DisneySea with Disney's New Mountain Range.

I don't particularly care for DinoLand either. To me it's a great place to walk through on my way to something else.

But it does have a huge appeal to a lot of children.

It's like the movie Cars to me. I don't get it, my friends and other parents don't get it. But you pop it in (walk towards those dinosaurs) and the kids go Ape S*#%

^^Funny thing about those kids - they're always letting "having fun" cloud their judgment.

I keep trying to impress on mine the importance of uncompromised back-story, themed-only coaster rail, and the historical position of the Disney park experience as being the "great American anti-carnival," but they're so darn hung up on having a good time.

Rebellious little schmucks.

Awesome. I really love the CMM idea as I think Grizzly Peak really needs to find a place at WDW. Canada would also work as would Tom Sawyer's Island if they got rid of the paddle wheel boat and enlarged the island.

I love your AK ideas and I'd only add a "PolarLand". It could go anywhere as it could be an indoor only attraction. Something like that deal they have at Sea World but much bigger and Disney-fied. Think belugas, polar bears and penquins!
