Rumor: Disney World Indiana Jones Show Closing To Make Room For Star Wars

If Indy leaves, it should go out with a bang. Indy has had a very long run, and it has seen better days. There was more action towards the beginning of its life, and several things have been removed. The show is essentially the same, so if you have seen it a few times, you can bypass it. Yet there are still packed crowds at Indy.

True or not, Indy can be replaced, hopefully quickly and hopefully with a people eater of an attraction or even two or three. Star Wars? Maybe. Cars? Possibly but they have Pixar place to do something with.

It is safe again for the short - medium term.

Good to hear and I hope you are right.

With so many other boat anchors throughout the park like the Sound Stage, Studio 1, the whole backlot tour area, why would Indy be removed? Indy is still quite popular and draws plenty of guests to nearly fill the theater.

I'm guessing that they will stay and simply be integrated into Hollywood Blvd as their "land".

I see this as most likely.

Regardless of where the surround land goes, would anyone else be disappointed to see Echo Lake itself go? It's the only real water feature in DHS (which even lacks water rides), and for that matter it's really one of the only natural and open-feeling spaces in a park that otherwise feels very narrow and tightly built. I'd miss it, personally.

Oh, I agree. Echo Lake absolutely should stay.

Who, one might reasonably ask, is it that you think is "panicked" over a Star Wars land in Hollywood Studios?

The 'fear' over a Frozen overlay of Maelstrom stems from the fact that - even if you think it the greatest idea since sliced bread - it is thematically inappropriate for World Showcase. You apparently are mistaking those who advocate upholding standards of show and presentation for fear.

I was pondering this today and I have evolved on WS. In today's very mobile world WS has lost the original reason it was built. Most people can easily afford going to the places represented. There are far fewer checkpoints for instance in Europe making travel as easy as in the states. Globalization has happened since 1982.

So to give WS attractions more of an appeal to younger guest's makes sense now. And I support adding attractions like Frozen and next-gen character M&Gs. Great way to educate the young about other cultures which should be more emphasized IMO.

And the cool thing is WS can be transformed in the evenings to appeal to adults in a similar way I think Disney Springs will. Everyone wins. Plus we would get a more balanced guest distribution between the parks.

PS- Sorry Epcot Explorer ;)

If it's successful (which we know it would be just because of the IP itself) that WOULD be the dedicated location. No one would tear out a ride to make a better version in another park when the current ride is already a success. That's why it shouldn't happen to begin with and we should get the big ride that wouldn't be shoehorned into Norway NOW.

Maybe, but they may have decided to take WS in a new direction. More family based until later in the evening.
