Rumor: Details on Disney's Hollywood Adventure

Well, there's your reason.
Either way, I'm rather annoyed by (this theory's) lack of Muppets and One Man's Dream. Both are favorites of mine.
I'd honestly be surprised if Muppet Vision was one of the first things to go - especially with a new Muppets TV show coming to the park. It would actually make sense if Disney tried to expand that part of the park for the Muppets. Makes sense though if that will be part of Star Wars. But I feel like Star Wars won't be in that part of the Park.

Okay, I'll have to go through this news sentence-by-sentence...

Say goodbye to the Disney’s Hollywood Studios you have come to love over the years, and get ready to welcome with open arms the biggest theme park expansion Disney has ever set out to do. Details of Disney’s Hollywood Adventure are set to be rolled out at this year’s D23 Expo in Anaheim come August, but we’ve got the exclusive on some of the secrets The Mouse was trying to keep under wraps until then.
So, the name we're going to get it "Disney's Hollywood Adventure"? All right...

Let’s start with what goes… Basically everything. It’d be easier to list what is going to be sticking around, as that list is much shorter, so here you go – The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster, Toy Story Mania and the Great Movie Ride. If an attraction is not in that company, it’s not going to last. And yes, that even includes Muppet Vision 3D and the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, with things like the Magic of Disney Animation already confirmed to be on the cutting room floor.

But fear not, Disney lovers. Not all change is bad. What is in the works is something that should inject some new energy into the park, with two new STAR WARS attractions tapped to be in the works, including a Dagobah centerpiece for where Echo Lake and Gertie the Dinosaur currently reside. Details on what those attractions will be have managed to escape me for now, but, with STAR TOURS and the Jedi Training Academy, which I hear will be relocating indoors to an existing building, already in place, you’re looking at four STAR WARS attractions on the ground inside the park, not to mention the possibilities for dining and shopping experiences that would mimic what you’d encounter in that galaxy far, far away.
I'm not the biggest fan of Muppet*Vision, but getting rid of it seems a bit disrespectful considering it was Jim Henson's last project. Honestly, I hope that the news that every attraction except the five listed above will be kicked to the curb means they're getting rid of that awful Frozen show, too.

Indiana Jones will not be staying away from Hollywood Adventure for too long. He just won’t be doing it in a stunt capacity with the rumors of the long-standing show closing up shop finally coming true. However, an updated version of the Indiana Jones Adventure that can be found in Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, will be breaking ground in Florida finally. So there’s that to look forward to.
Indiana Jones Adventure coming to Walt Disney World? THANK YOU!

As for Pixar’s presence, Pixar Place will continue to grow, with three new attractions being added to the mix, and that doesn’t even count the expansion of Toy Story Mania that is currently in the works. In fact, sources tell me that construction may already be underway, hidden from public view where the Studio Backlot Tour used to exist. That would make the time from announcement to completion feel much shorter, a strategy Universal has successfully employed in recent years for their theme parks.

I assume part of that will assume the Toy Story Playland stuff?

Oh, and that doesn’t even include the new nighttime show being lined up for EPCOT to replace Illuminations or the new attraction that will be kicking Journey Into Imagination to the curb.
Please tell me they're bringing Dreamfinder back. Though I'll settle for Figment teaming up with the cast of Inside Out (just as long as Figment is there, I'm happy).

So yeah. All in all, I'm satisfied with this news. Can't wait for the D23 Expo!

So...say they keep the Muppet Courtyard as is and expand Pixar back by TSMM/Backlot Tour, Pizza Planet will seem even more out of place than it does now. Would they retheme it? Or leave it alone and just ignore the inconsistency? Or do they open a new one (hopefully more like the one in Toy Story because that restaurant has always been a massive disappointment but anyway) back by the new Pixar area? Or what if they do get rid of Muppet Vision and the courtyard becomes Star Wars. Kind of the same thing. Do they recreate Pizza Planet with (hopefully) better theming?

The article only raised two concerns for me. First, I hope we are getting a JII 4.0 and not a new IP. Second, if Illuminations is replaced, the replacement better not be Frozen Showcase: Elsa Ices the World.

Why won't they announce SW details at WDW this year at D23?

The movie isn't out yet.

Don't believe the hype. Don't fall for click-bait.

Disney's Hollywood adventure? Unlikely.

Muppets? No word either way.

Frozen? Staying for as long as at least the next movie.

Indy? Pipe dream. 15 year old pipe dream. They're not going to drop a 15 year old attraction into a dated and quiet property like Indy, especially since they haven't had a successful film since Holy Grail.

TSPL? We're still not sure if that is what "Pixar" means.

Figment/inside out? Again, nobody has heard anything within the budgetary process.

Remember the track record people on this site have vs .... Well everyone else. People come here to get what's really happening.

And what's really happening? At least $3B. Star Wars. Pixar. Nothing else has been leaked through the usual sources....

The only thing true on that article is the budgets, Star Wars coming and Pixar coming.

Everything else is a compilation of things old and outdated...

What exactly is being said about IllumiNations? Hard to keep up with all of these threads.
the last part of the article says: "Oh, and that doesn’t even include the new nighttime show being lined up for EPCOT to replace Illuminations or the new attraction that will be kicking Journey Into Imagination to the curb."

This brings up a point. I think there should be a moderated thread called something like "relevant information from the @WDW1974 threads. When something like this comes up, it could be cross posted by a moderator, and locked. That way, you could read the info without having to wade through dozens of pages of other stuff. The person who posted this could be forgiven for having missed it in the other thread. It's tough to dig for nuggets in there, sometimes. I would appreciate an aggregator, also.
I've got a better idea... How about moderate that thread so it's not a free for all. That thread sucks it's about anything and everything

My personal opinion is if this is completed as suggested in the linked article, it's still a half-day park; they need to add attractions, not remove them.. And while the actual attractions may be better than what we have now, the cohesiveness/theming of the park will be severely negatively impacted. I think they are making a gigantic mistake by not keeping the "looks like a studio tucked behind Hollywood" aspect of the original design. And the new name is uninspired. And this is coming from a guy who is about as big an Indiana Jones and Star Wars fan as you can find.

Muppets would blend well into the Star Wars additions with a new show. Three words: Pigs.....In....Space

I would love different Star Wars land in different areas of the park. The first land could be back where LMA is located focusing on the new movie. The park could have a peoplemover type of transportation taking people to
the different lands and count as a ride. Then the second land could be up by ST and the Indy stunt show. The park has potential to be a big draw if they don't hold back and do it right this time around.

To me getting rid of Muppet vision is a slap in the face with all the recent money on revamping the Muppet franchise with two movies and new tv series this fall. You would think Disney would show faith in the Muppet by keeping the attraction. Personally I don't know how much of the article was real I guess will have to wait to get the answers until d23 and until then this is noting but rumor and not real. (Well except for the name change any new rides or closing rides is just a guess.)
