Lots of great Disney Specials lately on Travel Channel. I am making higher quality videos as a result. Don't miss Travel Channel tonight. From 5pm til 9pm, it is all Disney! :sohappy:

DisneyJedi and I are splitting the responsibilities.
DisneyJedi will be capturing the video's and encoding them with Divx for posting to Disney-Central
I will be capturing them and turning them into SVCD ready and posting them to alt.binaries.multimedia.disney
(Popkid - if you would like the SVCDs on the D-C site let me know and I will load them there too. Since they average 600MB each I wasn't sure if you wanted both Divx and SVCD on the site. Just let me know)
I think the best show in the line up is Undiscovered Disney at 5:00pm PST, 8:00 EST. The commercials today say that tonights showing is the premiere of this show.

Make sure you have the latest divx codec (5.1) from www.divx.com installed and use the old version of the windows media player (it should be in c:\program files\windows media player\mplayer2.exe). Even if you install the latest media player the old one sticks around as mplayer2.exe. I use that to play my AVIs. The newer players seem like more bloat than actual good performance. See if that works for ya.

Alien Encounter
I apologize if anyone has post regarding this attraction recently. I've only scanned a few pages back. With the impending demise of Alien Encounter in it's current form next week, I was wondering if anyone had high quality video of this attraction. They are generally pretty adamant about not filming, and god knows I've tried. I think, though, that there would be opportunities depending on cast members working and time of day, etc. I'm looking for the entire pre-pre-show, pre-show, and attraction, hopefully in TV quality format. I'd be willing to finance (i.e. pay for postage to RU42) a media-to-digital transfer rather than settle for a low-quality rip, if someone has a tape. Or maybe it's been done already. I'm going to miss this attraction and would love to keep it close by when needed

If someone has it, I am happy to make a rip of it.
There are captures of the queue tv shot and several of the Skippy scene. However, I have not seen much from the show itself.
There is one I have, the creator is Justin and it is in WMA format. I think I may have downloaded it from A.B.M.D at some time. It is a decent rip of the actual show itself. The hard part is that the show is in the dark for most of the time.
If no one else comes forward I will upload the version I have to #Disney-Central and/or A.B.M.D

I'd love to see the video of the first preshow (the one on the TV monitors). If that is what you are talking about when you said "the queue tv shot" I'd really love to know the name of the file on #Disney-Central so I can definately download it. The only current video of the first preshow I've got was the small version on Digital Disney. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

i actually (for the first time EVER at WDW) was told by a castmember to stop filming the pre-show with SIR and SKIPPY. i was told filming 'damages' the attraction

Sadly, I doubt if it will ever be available. Now only if they would put out attraction videos instead of crappy sequels, but I guess even the sequels will sadly make more money than the attraction ones.
I think the reason they make attraction videos are to torture us. When you are in line, you don't really watch it (and usually you can't even hear it), but then when you get home you want to see it again. Oh well, bootleg while you can I guess, its the only way.

I have posted a SVCD ready version. It is located in !DizUploads in the RU folder in the Shows Subfolder.
(Also in that folder are WDW Undiscovered, Great Hotels Grand Floridian and soon to be added Great Hotels AKL - all in SVCD)

And furthermore, there are DIVX AVI versions in the specials folder... the Disneyland secrets and Wilderness Lodge (redo @ 175MB) being the latest additions. I have 4 more of last week's Wayne Brady shows at WDW to add still.
