Props removed from Adventurers Club, signage removed from Bet Soundstage and Comedy

Just out of curiosity, because I have never had the pleasure of visiting the AC, was there an age restriction to the club. I know I wouldn't have been allowed in most of the clubs in PI but if it were to reopen I would love to go in. In the case of it reopening I would still be well under 21 so I was worried that I wouldn't be allowed to go in. Has anyone here ever seen teenagers (with their parents) in the AC?

Teens and younger kids were welcomed to the Club when accompanied by a parent.

He is my thing...for your everyday posters, yes, the "I-know-something-you-don't-know" can't be so annoying. But I know that Steve bends over backwards to update the site as soon as he can without damaging sources. That is what this site is about and it's the bottom line. It's what makes the site's gears go round. I am sure that Steve will break the news when he can. It's good for business and that is the business he is in. But Steve doesn't have to gain creditability. It is something that shouldn't be questioned. It just goes unsaid. It's really not fair to question the owner's credibility. Especially when he is the most credible poster here. So Steve, I have been around for years. A lot longer than my join date shows (lurker). I don't know if I have ever questioned anything you have told me. I might not have always agreed with your opinions, but you word always seems to be pretty golden. Thanks for doing what you do. I appreciate it.

The way any rumor of any validity is disseminated is often with winks, nods,a nd a good dose of cryptic speach. Although I see the points made earlier by Krack, generally when a poster comes straight out and says something is happening, they are usually trolling.

All of our insiders have a level of non-disclosure which actually makes things intriguing and keeps us guessing.

Questioning Steve's credibility is usually not a good idea.

Just a bit of info about a couple of things that have been mentioned here in this thread.

Auditions.
These are for some fall and halloween entertainment offerings that are coming to DTD. They are not for a return of the AC.

Props.
Reports of props being inside the building are incorrect. They are long gone, both inside, and now outside. There are construction items from the removal, like ladders etc, and bits and pieces of the bar equipment.

Or, another option is that Steve hasn't been given the final go-ahead to report what he's been told. And keeping this sources happy for the long run of their ongoing relationship is more important that satisfying someone whose curiosity doesn't go much further than the opportunity to decry whatever news comes next for PI/HW. Steve has been running this site for 15 years, and may like to keep the flow of information ongoing for some time to come.

Considering he hasn't edited or deleted any of your posts condemning him, I think "shut down negative discussion" can go out the window as well....

And seeing as how this is his site, the "cry for attention" angle isn't really working for you either. Nor is he one to gloat should what he knows be officially released by Disney any time soon.

You don't like how Steve runs things? There's plenty of other forums out there, where your incessant negativity would fit right in.

this...

The place was a zoo for its last few months of existence but that was due to the fact that it was closing. Prior to the announced closure I would define attendance as good. It always seemed busy when I went. It was rarely packed to the walls but it always appeared full. Unfortunately, a full club does not necessarily translate into a profitable club.

Jeckyll and Hyde is, from my understanding, an almost direct copy of the AC in premise at least.

Thanks Master Yoda for the insight on AC.

Jeckyll and Hyde is fun for an annual visit. It seems to be suffering lately though. I went last October during what should be the busiest month. Only the grand salon on the ground floor (there are four, the grand salon, the library, the laboratory and the attic ) was open. Most floors I've ever seen open are three and that was four years ago.

Would be horrible if Disney brought back AC for the fans and nobody showed.

So, since things are moving along (in the form of disassembling apparently..) the next question on my mind is - when will Disney unveil these new plans? We knows Staggs said "in the weeks and months ahead..." But does that mean the fall conference next month? Or next spring or summer?

We cannot live in the past. We have to move on into the future.

You don't have to forget nor forgive, just... move on. :)

Nope. I don't have to move on.
I will hold my grudge, and vow to cause as much trouble for those responsible as I can.
I shall seek revenge.

It is going to be later than next month.

I watched some AC footage on Youtube and do not understand the appeal at all. It looks kinda stupid except for the theming which is AWESOME.

I also agree with Prince^ about fans not showing up again if it were to reopen. I could see this being another Tiki room. Everyone wants it back until its here. Then complain complain complain......

Disney fans can be EXHAUSTING ;)

It's difficult to see and explain the Club's appeal without actually being there. Watching footage on youtube does not do justice to the charm of the place.

That being said, I'm one of those people who's of the "move on" group. I was sad to see it close, but it's time to let it go.

If ya don't like what is posted by anyone, jog on. Nobody forces anyone to stay here.

I amazed that with the many forums I go to, the blatant hostility many people show towards one another. The arguments that start, and the pure seething hatred focused on people amazes me.

I come here to see what is new and occasionally post replies. I don't really read too much into things. And as far as insider news, well, insiders can be fired for divulging information to anyone. That is why they have to have their identities hidden.

As to anyone's intention to mislead others, I sincerely doubt the person of a website would do something so inappropriate that it would jeapordize one's reputation. Because after all, since we are online, all we can go by is a reputation and track record.

I don't think it is very wise to bite the hand that feeds you.

just sayin'

Steve does a good job, or we wouldn't come here.....

Good answer!

Meaning you have no clue what's going on, but you post this so when whatever's going on is announced you can say, "Yup! This is exactly what I thought they were doing!"

I actually find your comments rather insulting. You have probably forgotten that you are a guest here on my site. Since you dislike the way I post and run the site, I would suggest you leave and post elsewhere.
I'm sorry if you were insulted. I will go elsewhere.
OMG...I am SO glad I read this whole thread...it was almost as good as when Thrawn got booted!

The Adventure Club was not designed to be viewed from a distance or watched online. Unless you have immersed yourself in the experience for a couple of hours, wandering from show to show, I don't believe you will every understand the appeal.

  Thanks Lee for taking up the fight for all us kids who just recently (within the past couple years) turned 21 and thus never really got to experience AC the way it was meant to be experienced. (Although I did visit when I was like 7!) :sohappy:
