If you are referring to the trees in the middle of the hub, no, they were removed to allow a better vantage point for Wishes. All you see now is Cinderella Castle in plain full view, no trees.

By the way, the Epcot pics have now been scanned. I'll try and post them later on this evening.

If you look to the bottom of the second photo, you'll see me wearing my oversized blue Kansas City Royal baseball hat.

The "original" Journey Into Imagination with the "original" paint scheme.

I'm sure almost everyone here may recognize the original Kitchen Kaberet show. I remember this like yesterday, with all the singing food groups. I sort of wish it was still there.

The France pavilion. I have a model Eiffel Tower from this trip. It still resides in my bedroom with all my other WDW memorabilia.

Looking towards the France pavilion. Not sure where in World Showcase this was taken.

Two images from a character calvacade through World Showcase to promote Mickey's Birthday. The characters traveled around in one of those old defunct World Showcase double-decker buses. I have several more photos from this show that I need to scan yet. Meanwhile, enjoy part two of this look back to WDW 1989 and classic Epcot Center.

These are some pretty good quality pics for them being 21 years old! You can definitely tell what time period it is by the clothes. :)

Glad you all are enjoying the pics! I think the Swan looked complete, the Dolphin appeared to have been under construction, if that's what you meant.

Yeah, it's amazing how people will line up to ride an attraction that's actually good. I seem to remember the line to the original JII stretching outside during the trips I took in the '80s as well. Thanks for the pics!

Yeah but come the mid 90's no one was in line for it. That was the problem with JII it was not a thrill attraction and once it became cool to line up for non-thrill attractions again they had changed it....twice!!!!!

I love JII and they do need to do something with it!
