What great pics. I went to WDW for my first time in June of 1989 too! My parents bought my sister and I that same Daisy Duck hat. I think it is still in my parent's basement somewhere in fact. Although since I have moved out my mom has been pitching all of my toys but she saved all of my NKOTB merch for me.:D

Great pics!!! I remember meeting Mickey in his dressing room...and I so had a Goofy hat like that! I also know that we have a pic of me and my brother and sister taken in front of the Duckberg school too!!

Me (with the Mickey Ears) and my cousins getting our picture with Mickey in his dressing room.

I still have that Donald Duck hat!

I have fond memories of that birthday show. Such fun. They really need another live show like that in the Magic Kingdom that combines live performers (with live vocals- not the prerecorded crap they use now), live music, and characters.

Thanks for sharing your pics, looking foward to the ones from EPCOT! When people ask me when is the best time to visit WDW, my answer is usually "1989" . If only I had a flux capacitor and a DeLorean so I could follow my own advice.

I didn't realize how popular 1989 and WDW come together around here. It's nice to hear that other people still have merchandise from that time period. I still have my "Mickey Ears" that I was wearing in the pics, as well as the 1989 Magic Kingdom and Epcot guidebooks (yes, they weren't the guidemaps, but the books). I think those were well put together than the "guidemaps" that they have now. My cousins made it over to MGM but we never did (I think my parents thought I was too young at the time to experience the place) so I don't have an MGM Guidebook. I don't even know if my cousins still have those hats yet lol.

I know there are alot of people here who can't wait for the Epcot pics. I'll be busy tonight but I'll begin to scan them sometime this week.

Same here! I love to see old photos from EPCOT Center, which is why I get giddy whenever a thread like this pops up.

So, did you just forget about the parks for 20 years or so? :p

And you are in for quite a surprise :lookaroun
Hahaha -- no, didn't forget, just had other stuff going on unfortunately. I've been planning a trip since the day I found out we were going to have a baby -- that was 3 years ago -- and we're finally going to go in November!
