BTW, its the Swan hotel that was in the background, not the Dolphin.

These pictures are AMAZING! I love EPCOT Center!

He said the Dolphin is under construction in the background of that picture...which it clearly is. Swan is there too though.

Looking towards the France pavilion. Not sure where in World Showcase this was taken.

Somewhere on the north side of the UK. That`s International Gateway under construction in the distance.

And the Imagination line is for Captain EO, not JII

Thanks for clearing that up. I've never realized that the construction of the International Gateway was evident in that photo.

My sister and I had those hats too! I wonder what ever happened to them.

The bill on the hat was a hard plastic. I have it in a sealed bag in my parents' attic. I need to go up there and dig that up sometime.

I was thinking the same thing. I remember being scorched waiting out in the sun for Captain EO, but being well shaded for the never ending line to see JII.

We had our 2nd trip to WDW not too long before this...b/c I remember seeing the Swan under construction. Brings back memories. Thanks!

I love looking at the older Disney pics! Not only is it fun, to me, to see the way the parks have changed so much but I also like seeing how much the people have changed. Fashions have changed so much since then! Even the way the characters are dressed and how the character heads are designed. But:lookaroun I am still in awe on the new character heads that blink and "talk" lol.

Are they actually using those now in WDW? I saw something about they were testing them out, but didn't know that they were using them yet. We're going back in December and I know my son would love to see them!!!

Thanks for the older pics! As soon as I saw the one of Mickey's birthday show, I said to my husband "I went to that show when I was little!!" and I also had my picture taken in his dressing room as well! I should totally find them and post them as well

Nope, my parents figured I would be too young to experience the place. And besides, they only had two attractions at the time (Great Movie Ride and the Backstage Tour). My first visit to MGM would have been in June 1995.

There will be more pics coming soon of the what was then called the Walt Disney World Village, as well as misc Character pics.
