Photoshop Pages

Thanks everyone. The exposition hall page is one of my favorites as well, I like the colors. Mouselvrmom, it's a great place to slip in and get out of the heat and crowds. Every once in awhile we'll see a character in there who is on his/her way out to do meet and greets.

Not only was the service great with shutterfly, but I didn't think the price was too bad, especially considering the quality of the printing. It's $30 for the first 20 pages and then $1 per page after that. Plus, at one point they had them on sale for I think $23, and I've gotten emails with deals like $10 off purchases of $30 or more so that helps.

Butterfly18237, I use Adobe Photoshop CS3, which is a great graphics editing program. It's a bit difficult to get the hang of at first, but once you get some basics down it gets much easier.

I haven't posted in a while because things have gotten busier at work now that students are back on campus. I'm sure the beginning of the school year has had this affect on many of you!

So here are a few more from the first book.

Liberty Square:

Animal Kingdom (these are the dimensions before printing, so on the printed image the silhouette at the bottom does go all the way across and doesn't stop at the edges):

And the Animation Academy (I don't know if I could choose an overall favorite, but this would certainly be a contender for the title):

Those are all great, Hollybelle! I think I love the liberty square one the best! I love your picture in the center. Just beautiful!

Thanks ladies. I really like that picture as well, and I think the quilt background gave it just the feel I was looking for.

Here are two more from the first volume.

Chef Mickey's Character Dinner (as you can see in the one picture Chip was giving the loser sign. He saw that I was paying for dinner that night and he wasn't too happy with Brett. This carried on for 5-8 minutes. Once we thought it was over and he had moved on, I was taking a picture of Brett and Mickey and Chip jumped in to once again to remind me that Brett was a loser and I should choose him instead! I'm so glad we caught it on camera):

And one from the character series, Miss Daisy Duck:

Thanks! We met Princess Daisy at the Pirate and Princess Party (clearly, as if the way we were dressed wouldn't give that away!), but I believe the same Daisy can be met at MNSSHP this year. I do kind of wish they would give her a different costume for this party, as all the other characters seem to have different ones. But hey, she wasn't even at the MNSSHP we went to in 2006, so at least there's progress!

Hmm, you think princess daisy will be at the mnsshp, huh? We would love to see her! In fact my middle daughter was standing by me when I was looking at your pages and she mentioned that she loved that princess daisy and how we had never seen her before.

I found the info here:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=349006

Now, I noticed that the Mickey and Minnie costumes are new, Donald's is the same as previous years and Daisy's is the same as the one we met at the Pirate and Princess Party (2007).

What I don't know is whether or not these are the meet & greet characters or the parade characters. The year we were there the parade characters were dressed differently than the ones we could meet (for some reason I'm thinking that parade Donald had a jester outfit on?). Not to sure.

I do hope that your daughter will get to meet her!! I'm sure many trip reports and MNSSHP updates will pop up now that the first one has come and gone! Hopefully, by the time October rolls around, there will be ample information about character meet & greet locations and more.

The two most recent pages are great!

By the way, where did you find the "walking animals" for the bottom of the AK (green) page?

Thanks for the info. We character stalkers need to stick together.

I'll for sure have to keep my eye out for reports from the first parties so that I can know what to plan for.

I, too, love your Liberty Square page and also your Chef Mickey page. I like how you added the hats to your heads!!

Thanks! I really like that picture and even though there weren't any characters in it, I wanted to tie it in with the others.

I cut them off the entry sign (below), multiplied them, merged the layers, color overlayed them with black (opacity 100%) and added a stroke. I did the same thing with the WS countries on my first Food & Wine page. I really like the effect. If you don't already have a photo of the sign, please feel free to use this one.

Here are two more of my favorites from the first book

Peter Pan Characters (looks like I might have to redo/update this one now that Tink is rumored to have a meet & greet on the way):

And Camp Minnie-Mickey @ Christmas (I love all the trees, and think it's great that they even change them up some from year to year) :

Wow, Hollybelle! It really sounds like you did a lot of work on that animal kingdom border! You must have a lot of patience.

I love, love, love that map on your peter pan page. And tinkerbell is a nice touch too. And of course, your christmas page is lovely as well.

Thanks for posting some more pages so that I can at least look at others pages if I can't get any done myself. :)

Actually, even though it sounds like it was a lot of work, it really wasn't. Many of those steps took only seconds. Now cutting out the trees on the Camp Minnie Mickey page, that took patience! Because there was no clear cut definition between the trees and the greenery they were surrounded by.

I love the map, too. I believe I found it on google images and then took some chunks out of it to make it look used.

I feel the same way about getting pages done. All the ones I'm posting were previously done. I'm hoping my trip in a couple weeks will help motivate me to finish some pages when I get home!

That map is really neat! I also like all the christmas trees!! Great pages again!

Thanks!

We leave in two days for the Food & Wine Festival, Expedition Everest 5K and our first stay at the Contemporary. Yay for conferences at WDW and for a great boss (work is picking up the tab for part of this one)!!! I'm even excited to see the conference facilities at the Contemporary...one day for conferencing, three days for playing. Can't beat that!

So here are the last few pages from my first book. Hopefully when we return I'll be more motivated and inspired to work on Volume II.

Blizzard Beach:

YOAMD (the first go-round, most of these were taken December 2006 at the current Epcot Character Spot):

And last, but certainly not least... The Scary Apothecary:
