I am pretty sure packs are still alive and kicking in all amusement parks.
I never wore one. I use a small jansport back pack its perfect for me.

My husband wears the pack in our family. He keeps his wallet, phone, sunblock and snacks in there. I carry the camera bag which is heavier then the pack. Last trip, I politely insisted that he carry the camera bag too. I carried the actual camera tho. We did do the back pack thing one year and it was just too much. To unzip it and dig around for whatever it was you were looking for.

I think fannie packs are great, but when I am in the parks, I need something a little larger so I can carry a bottle of water, camera etc. I use my pack when I go to the casinos or the beach and I only need my keys, money and such.

I have worn one, but I try to hide it by layering my shirts. I'll put on a tank top, then the pack, then a looser woven shirt over it. (don't need to bring attention to my backside!!!) This year, I found a cross body bag that I like so I'm going to try that. But the convenience of a pack outweighs what people think about it.

I used to wear the one that they would give you when you checked in using the American Express card as part of the white glove treatment. Now I'll still wear an expedition everest one that I keep our video camera in on certain days.

I remember getting many of those. Actually while cleaning out some old stuff I found one still wrapped in its original plastic. I can't make my slef use it but I still cant throw it away. I did however wear a belly pack when my family and I went to WDW until about 1995 when I bought a mini backback at Disney. My dad use to wear a pretty big belly pack as well, it even held the video camera which at that time was not very small. Now I just wear a sling thing that I can get into with out removing and I do not have to take it off on any ride. The belly pack always seemed to be in the way when I sat. They always made for pretty goofy looking pictures too.

My youngest bought a new pack at WDW in March (she's 9 & it's a princess one) she can keep her autograph book, pen and handsanitizer in her own little bag. Depending on our plans I can go between a Grumpy pack (camera, sunblock stick, hand sanitizer) or the small black backpack we got at AK. I take either one of those everywhere we go...the zoo, the science center, local amusement parks, etc. I can't stand to carry a purse and have it sliding off my shoulders. I don't wear cargo shorts...although my husband does, but he doesn't like to be loaded down like a pack mule.

DH will be lugging the camera & bag across his shoulder. I'll probably have the video camera & bag around my waist. Otherwise, I would have a pack. Now, I'll have my DD's small, clear backpack across my shoulder to hold her autograph cards & Sharpie. I might try to see if I can shove those two items into a pack. Then I can wear a pack & camera bag around my waist and be really fashionable!

Has anyone ever noticed the over abundance of pack's(belly bags) at WDW. I think this must be the only place they are still used.

Does anyone on the boards still use a pack when they go to WDW?:veryconfu:veryconfu:veryconfu
I have had a hip pack for the longest time, I see them here in jersey too, what is the problem?

Used to but I switched to the cargo shorts to bypass security. But everyone else in the family wears one. The ladies call it a waist purse. I still wear one while biking and no it is not flourescent. We really don't care what we look like at WDW. It's about comfort and convenience. Without grossing anyone out, of course. :D

I use a MEC pod sling pack that looks sort of like this. Probably even a bit smaller. You can easily swing it around to your front for rides and easy access. It's perfect.

Ditto on this sling pack thing. Does the exact same thing as the pack (same cargo space, etc) but w/o the stigma. Swings around to the front easily for rides unlike backpacks. Used it on a trip to Europe, too, and can't do vacationing without it.
