Nothing coming in 2010?

Well- to the average person just seeing the yeti with strobe is fine.

No, it's really not. I heard so many "That's it?" and "Lame, the yeti didn't even move!" the last time I was there.

And no, I wasn't the one saying it.;)

And the Yeti AA doesn't completely make or break the ride imo. That's a bit overboard.

To say that completely disregards what the ride is about. The entire queue and ride build up to an encounter with the legendary beast, and now, you can barely see it.

Like I've said before EE is like an action movie without a climax currently. Having the Yeti broken breaks the rides story and payoff.

The thrills or the theming?

Past the ascent there's barely any theming.

The ride is about encountering the yeti... and you still do. I just don't think the 5 seconds before the ride ends makes or beaks the ride. The yeti still gives me at least the effect of movement and sheer awe of its size, but maybe that's just me. I've also been on the ride quite a bit my last 2 trips within 2009 and I haven't heard anyone complain about the yeti.

Where do you suggest themeing past the big lift? The ride is in the dark and going too fast for the extra themeing to be worth it.

You encounter him if you're lucky enough to actually discern what it is the strobe light is illuminating.

Tell that to the guys who designed Big Thunder.;)

I'm not telling you what you need to do. Don't put words in my mouth. Telling you what you should do is completely different. Stop trying to stir the pot and make something of nothing.

Same difference in my book. You are the one that started it and brought it backup with a comment to EE.

Stand at the photo area on any day and listen to the people that are complaining about the Yeti. The Yeti not moving is a big deal.

This statement is defending mediocrity at its finest. :brick:

QFT! Disney used to put show before anything (except safety). Sadly, that isn't the case anymore.

Yep. It`s just you. You encounter the embarrassment of Glendale. The big frozen fluff has generated a lot of complaints.

There is one person who has a possiblity of getting banned this evening and it's not Pumbas...
And when that happens, the BanHammer will be there.

BanHammer, because banning with words just isn't as satisfying.

I take it you're implying me to which I ask you one question 'why?'

And what gives you the right to be so rude and blunt? That was a really low thing to say.

 I'll listen more next time I guess.

I'm not starting anything. Please drop it and quit trying to make me out like I'm trying to control you!

It isn't a statement- it's a question. Where would you put extra themeing where you aren't zooming by?

I had no trouble whatsoever seeing him on my last 2 visits both in B mode and I have REALLY bad eyes

maybe I'm just lucky though

EE goes way faster than BTMRR... way faster. And on EE's outside portions you can barely turn your head to the left or right for the mere split seconds you are out there and not in another cave. There's a major difference. Still- I would like to know where you not braxter would put this extra themeing. :animwink::lol:

You can literally see metal beams and inside the backstage portions of the mountain when you are going backwards. They should've added rock work in the area to prevent that and the light leaks from occurring.

I agree, I have seen this before. And if they don't add rock works at least find where the light is reflecting off of or coming from and stop it. I always notice for a split second seeing a wall or something when first going backwards- but I thought maybe it was just me... :lookaroun

Speed isn't the point. You still whiz by a lot of what's on BTM, the point is it's there. You feel like you're on a mountain, not a coaster. And that's my biggest gripe with EE. For everyone saying it's so highly themed, the illusion of being on a mountain is really lost after the drop. You can tell you're just on a roller coaster.

I'd start by putting rockwork in the helixes and such. Hell, I'd enclose the whole thing. That'd be better than what's there.

Add my vote to those saying that BTMRR, M, SplM and SM are more themed than EE. I'd noticed the interior beams and light pollution from the very first ride, and of course they've never gone away.

Total win with this post!!!!

That's what I would think.

What's so climatic about a static figure?

It just like the Trex in JP over at IOA. The first time I saw the Yeti in A mode it was an amazing site WDI at its best. Now imo it is no more impressive than an other AA in WDW!

Just because EE goes faster doesn't make it more thrilling. Also I think the theming of BTMR is better than EE anyway. It is as simple as this without the Yeti EE doesn't hold its own.

Yep, just like SE now. I dont think Disney any longer knows how to mask this kind of thing, or they just dont care sadly, its cheaper to let it show. :brick:

I just think that the red rock work lends itself to looking more realistic anyway. The white? Meh.

Agreed. To me, most of EE themeing takes place in the queue. Most of the ride is very poorly themed. The whole going backwards portion, and as you stated after the drop, the illusion is lost. I don't think they need amazing themeing while you're moving backwards since its in the dark (or should be) anyway, but something to prevent light leaks would help.

And I have never heard other guests complain about the yeti, but that could obviously just be a timing thing. I know I have complained about it though.

I think it is funny that the inside of the Matterhorn is themed better than EE also its Yeti works :animwink:
