NewfieFan's trip of a lifetime ~ Sept. 16 -26!

Ok, so I'm a little anxious to tell you all about my trip... honestly, I'm not ready to write the TR yet b/c I don't have my pics loaded yet (my computer is in another town) but I just had to check in with you all and let you know that everything was amazing! We only got back late last night and we're all tired! I have lots of pics to share and a few good stories to tell. I hope you like long TRs b/c this one has the potential to be loooong! So stayed tuned... I promise to get the TR up and running as soon as possible!

I'm loving your trip report so far! It looks like you all had a ball! Great pictures by the way! :sohappy:

I, too, love your countdown calendar! What a neat idea to take the castle scene setter or whatever and add days and such to it! It looked really nice! I'm too close to my next trip to whip something like that up now, but I will definitely try to keep it in mind for our next upcoming trip.

Loving the trip report so far. And btw my b/f was reading over my shoulder when I spied your brother and said "wow" (outloud-oops) his response was "oh great another redhead" (I have a thing for reds) Can't wait to hear more.

Hello to you fellow east coaster! This was my first trip in Sept. and I loved it, the wait times alone make that time of year great!

Subscribing!

We were at MK the same day...it was our 8th anniversary. :D

You must have been married in 2000!?! So were we - our anniversary was back in April, though! Happy Anniversary!

I'm loving your trip report so far! It looks like you all had a ball! Great pictures by the way! :sohappy:

Thanks so much! Make sure you post a pic if you ever do a countdown wall/calendar... I love to see what people come up with!

Great trip report so far. I'm enjoying it so much! I especially love the MK morning pictures, the lighting is so beautiful!!

MK is so beautiful early in the morning - it almost makes up for the loss of sleep!:snore: Thanks!

Thanks! He's a slight red head - the sun actually makes his hair redder... so in summer he's more of a red head than he is the rest of the year!

Great report. I do not think I have ever seen Peter Pan at 5 minutes.

I know I was amazed at some of the wait times that I saw during my trip - it was great! And thank you to you too!

I promise I'm going to try and write more today when I get a chance!

Day 2 continued...

After Philharmagic we didn't have much time before our ADR at Crystal Palace so we hit up the carousel

This was my kids first time on the carousel and their only complaint was that it was too short! I would have taken them on it again (there was no wait) but we had to heard over to our ADR. Before we left my son spied the sword in the stone and had to give it a try (he just saw this movie as well).

He couldn't understand why he couldn't pull it out!

We didn't have to wait long for our ADR at all (I think I was expecting long waits for meals) and Uncle Matt finally showed up to meet us! This was the first meal of our trip and our first meal together. I don't think my bro was too excited for the character meals (I think he thought they were just for kids) but his attitude changed pretty quick...

He loved it and so did my parents! If you'll remember I stated that my parents or my bro hadn't even eaten on property before so this was their first experience. Everybody thought the food, atmosphere, entertainment, and service was great! It was such a fun meal together! My only disappointment was that Anna was afraid of the characters! Normally, this would upset me a lot but I took it surprisingly well. I wanted this to be a great vacation for everyone and so my daughter didn't like the characters than "oh well"! She was fine as long as she was up in someone's arms when they came around. I would just tell the characters that she was a little nervous and they would just wave or blow a kiss to her. Now my son is a different story... he loves the characters and he's not happy until he's hugged one! Here's a few pics our meal...

It was good times all around! And my daughter still had fun, she enjoyed the parade of characters and kids around the room!

Normally, at this hour of the day I would be heading back to the resort for a rest/nap but my parents and bro had just started their day and wanted to keep going. So, my hubby and I decided we'd try it and see how the kids would handle it. First we bumped into the Family Fun Day Parade and paused to watch it. My bro was itching to ride a ride so we headed over to Tomorrowland and saw this character along way...

fulzrr.jpg

It was a very cool experience! My dad asked if he knew Wall E and his answers were too funny - it was very cute!

My bro wanted to ride Space Mountain and it had NO wait (at 1pm in the afternoon)! My mom and hubby took the kids over to PPS again to play while they wanted for us. Well, they could have sat outside and waited for us b/c we literally walked on the ride and rode it! My bro rode it again but my dad sat out the second ride and I went to get the gang over at PPS. Well, I couldn't fine them!!! I panicked a little b/c I wondered if I had heard them wrong and they were actually somewhere else in the park. Anyways, I walked back to Tomorrowland to get dad and Matt and then we all took off to find them. And we found 'em... right where they said they would be... at PPS! I have no idea how I missed them - I looked everywhere around that area and didn't see them first time around!

Everybody was a little hot and tired at this point (especially me) so I suggested we ride the train to take a little break. When we got to the train station I discovered that my son had lost his hat in PPS and nanny & daddy didn't even notice (nobody keeps track of stuff like mom)! We boarded the train and took quite a few trips around the MK to relax and cool down. There was just one problem... I wasn't cooling down. I should have paid more attention to my own body but I didn't... my daughter had fallen asleep on the train and I wanted her to have a little nap so I didn't say anything... BIG mistake. Suddenly it felt like the pit of my stomach fell out and I thought I was going to pass out. I put my head forward on the seat and my husband asked me what was wrong. I looked up and said, "Ummmm, I don't feel well!" He took one look at me and knew what was wrong (he's a doctor by the way). I suffered from heat exhaustion - my body had lost the ability to cool itself down. We left my parents and my bro, and my husband took the kids and I back to the hotel.

After an hour in the hotel room lying down with a cool cloth I felt much better - I learned my lesson! We told my parents we would meet them at 7:30 to watch the fireworks together. They had a great afternoon while I was "recovering", they rode Splash and BTMR to name a few! I bought some Casey's fries for the kids (they hadn't had supper yet) and they were good! The fireworks were amazing (as usual) and my parents couldn't believe how beautiful they were!

We walked around the MK looking for somewhere to eat (I didn't know all the CS restaurants closed at closing - makes sense though)! So, I told everybody we could get something back at our foodcourt. On our way out we notice a party in Tomorrowland so of course we check it out. It was some sort of prize that people had won that day. They got to stay in the park one hour after everyone else and ride selected rides or something like that!?! Anyways, the CMs had no problem with us hanging around for the party. It was so cute... they were playing music and Mickey and Minnie were on stage dancing. My daughter loved it! We watched for a bit and then decided to call it a day but not before a few last PhotoPass pics by the castle all lit up!

We spent the night at our resort in/by the pool and eating pizza... ahhhhh, vacation! Despite the few bumps in the road it was a perfect day in WDW!!!

(I promise not all days will be this long... this was an eventful day and I wanted to tell you all about it!)

I love long reports ;)

Thanks... I do too!

Me too! :animwink:

More! More! We want to hear more! (please:))

I promise there's more coming - I've been so busy since I got back home. We're in the process of a move, I've had company, and I'm trying to get my son caught up in home schooling (he did have two weeks off ;)). If I get a chance tomorrow I may write another day!

Thanks for reading and thanks for your patience!

If any of you are still out there... I haven't abandoned the TR! We just moved and it's been crazy. As soon as things get a little more organized I PROMISE I'm going to finish this TR. I also should have my PhotoPass pics coming soon, so I'll be able to add those!

Thanks for reading!

Without further ado I give you...

Day 3

We started the day at...

This morning didn't go exactly as planned as well. I wanted to try and catch the opening ceremonies for AK but we were running a little late! We still arrived at AK just as it opened but we were missing my brother this morning (apparently my dad snores and he wasn't getting any sleep)! I was really excited to show this park to my parents, especially my mom because she loves nature, plants, birds, etc.

We paused for some PhotoPass pics on our way into the park...

And I love this pic!
My dad looks like he's thinking... "I'm too old to be a father again!"

Here's me with my mommy & daddy

I suggested we head for KS and get a FP for it. But on the way we bumped into this character...

Aidan was very excited to see Terk - Tarzan is one of his favorite movies!

We continued on and then we bumped into some more characters...

So far the morning was very eventful and exciting. Finally we made it to KS! We could have got in the stand-by lineup but I wanted to relax and walk the trail first - and we really hadn't had breakfast yet either. The Pangani trail was quite nice and we got some nice views of the gorillas. We stopped for some fruit while we waited for our return time. KS was great... all the animals were out and about! The giraffe was really close to the road and we saw the baby giraffe up close as well (which my daughter loved)!
After that we headed over to CMM and we noticed FOTLK was just starting but they said we could still get in the theatre! I enjoyed this show even more this trip! My daughter clapped along the whole time and loved it. My parents loved the show as well and thought the monkeys were great!

Our stomachs were telling us it was time to eat so we headed in the direction of Flame Tree BBQ. It was sooooo good and my parents were impressed with the food - they thought it was pretty good for quick service! We had nice seats down by the water with a great view of EE. My son liked the fact he could hear the people screaming!
My mom took this pic (I can't take credit)...

We decided to call it a morning at this point but on the way out we noticed the wait time was only 5 min. for...
2ujnlvt.jpg

I've always wanted to see this show and my parents pushed my hubby and I to go see it while they watched the kids. I thought the show was awesome (and I'm terrified of bugs)... so we convinced my parents to go watch it as well.

It was a great morning at AK. My parents loved everything they saw and now they wanted to show it all to my brother!

Will continue Day 3 in another post...
