New 40th Parade and Castle show

Personally, I'm sad to see both go. We only just got CDCT it seems, and we've only been doing version 2 since May of last year. I very much enjoy the parade, and even when I'm not working it, I'm watching it. Its a must do everytime I visit the Kingdom.

Same with Dream Along. I very much enjoy it. It has pirates, it has princesses, it has villains. Something for everyone.

We've had the same floats and roughly the same parade since 2001.:dazzle: I really like CDCT for the music, but it's time for a change.

Exactly... And plus, by the time the 40th comes along, it will be 3 years with it. Once the parade hits a decade... Man, I hope they don't do this with all parades!

I really wouldn't say we "just got" CDCT at all, it may be a new incarnation, but it's still an old parade. It's basically the same as the 2 parades before it, with new music and a few more float adjustments. After a decade it's about time this parade left, any more changes to it to make it presentable as a "new parade" would just make it a laughing stock. It's already ridiculous that Disney has been running the same floats in the same parade for nearly 10 years, but it's quite an insult to the intelligence of the paying customers to give a parade the BARE MINIMUM of changes and expect them to accept it as something new.

Maybe it's time the big crystal castle float was retired as well, but I do like the concept of it, so maybe a new float which fits the same purpose as a general "finale" float could be designed and built.

Guess it's a matter of opinion then, because I think ours is better looking then Tokyo's. I dislike the dark color and the stage is way to big. It takes away from the castle.

Hey wdwfan22 !,

Our Castle Forecourt Stage at Walt Disney World`s Magic Kingdom may look better, but Tokyo Disneyland Park's Castle Forecourt Stage has MORE Space for BIGGER and BETTER Productions and Numbers in their shows.
The Dark Color on Tokyo Disneyland's Castle Stage may be off, and The Size of Tokyo Disneyland's Castle Stage may be way too big in width,
BUT, hear this ...... AT LEAST THE BOTTOM LEVEL OF TOKYO DISNEYLAND`S CASTLE FORECOURT STAGE IS SOOO WIDE, THAT THEY CAN PUT ON A BIG SHOW WITHOUT HAVING TO SACRIFICE ANYTHING IN THE SHOW BECAUSE OF THE MANY FUNCTIONS AND BIGGER SPACE TO WORK WITH ON THEIR STAGE UNLIKE WHAT WALT DISNEY WORLD'S MAGIC KINGDOM HAD TO DO WITH THEIR RENDITION OF CINDERELLABRATION " CINDERELLA'S ROYAL CORONATION " DURING THE 18 MONTH LONG, 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF DISNEY THEME PARKS WITH DISNEYLAND`S 50TH ANNIVERSARY THE HAPPIEST CELEBRATION ON EARTH IN 2005 - 2006 BECAUSE WALT DISNEY WORLD'S MAGIC KINGDOM CASTLE FORCOURT STAGE CANNOT HOLD AS MUCH.
Trust me on this. If the bottom level of The Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Castle Forecourt Stage was as wide as Tokyo Disneyland's Castle Forecourt Stage, then should the NEXT TIME something like this come about, and Walt Disney World had to import a Castle Stage Show from Tokyo Disneyland, It would at least hold a bit more water and match up better with The Tokyo Disneyland Shows. In other words, Walt Disney World`s Magic Kingdom would not have to worry much about having to sacrifice and end up taking away from the spectacularity of the shows.
To put it to you in another way, Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom would be able to do a better job with their Castle Stage Shows if the Bottom Level of The Stage was extended to be made a bit wider, so that they would have more space to work with. That is all.

Agreed in full. I hate the current stage. Has the Gold Arches from HCOE, the Tents, ugh. Clutter. At least give us Tokyo's, where it looks like an extension of the Castle.

And has pyro.

And shoots water.

And has Vapor screens.

And catches FULLY on fire.

:D

Hey EPCOT Explorer !,

I have ONE wish for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. And that be They Replace That Junior Sized Castle Stage we have now for a NEW, WIDER IN LENGTH CASTLE STAGE that gives them More Space to work with,

That elevates up.

And Animates.

And like you said, That catches on fire.

And Has Pyro.

And Has Viper Screens.

And Shoots Water.

A Stage like this that is SO Ahead of its` time that you could put a real life snake on the stage and NOBODY would notice it, unless they heard its` Hisss .

The kind of Castle Stage that you will ONLY Find at Tokyo Disneyland.

Tokyo... You seen the size of their hub and forecourt? That`s how they can accommodate such lavish shows.

While it's true that Tokyo can hold bigger productions do to the fact the stage is so huge, I personally do not want to see this in Florida. I think the overgrown stage takes away from the castle. I'm fine with our productions being the way they are.

So, what year did DAWM start?

It is a family favorite of ours, will be sad to see it go.

A great memory from last year.

At the point where the fab four are asking whether people have dreams,
the soundtrack has a little girl saying "I want to be a princess!"

At a showing last October, this huge burly guy, obviously in the know,
yelled out I WANNA BE A PRINCESS at the top of his lungs at exactly the right moment.

The crowd laughed, and I thought Minnie was going to laugh her head off, it took everything "she" had to keep it together.

Pretty funny stuff.

Length?

I'm going to ask this even though it might seem like a silly question, is the 40th Anniversary going to be all year long? From Oct 1, 2011 to Sept 30, 2012? We're planning a trip for April of 2012 and it would be nice if the celebration was still going on.

Supposedly more than 1 year. The FLE is supposed to open up in celebration with the 40th in 2012, so I can only imagine it's sticking around until 2012/13 for Tink

We're almost in the middle of the year, I'm guessing an announcement should be expected soon. I'm surprised they didn't save Captain EO and the new Toy Story Mania additions for the 40th.

I'm surprised the 40th isn't all about "everything old is new again" with EO, the Electrical Parade and whatever else Disney can find in the basement.

Then again we are getting Star Tours 2 and the Fantasyland expansion...so they wouldn't help the "theme".

18 months. At least. Probably 24. Running from basically the 39th to the 41st.
