New 40th Parade and Castle show

40th will probably be announced in the fall like in October? Thats usually their big press event month.

i hope details get released soon cos i wanna start planning i would love PoD to come to WDW!

My Disneyland friends tell me that the dismantled and stripped down remains of PoD are in DL's boneyard, and they are not pretty. There was a rumor a while ago (when it was still running) that WDW would get it, but now, it would have to be salvaged and shipped for that to happen, rather than just shipped.

DL is running Celebrate! A Street Party. And yes, the PoD floats were apparently destroyed and dismantled a few months ago.

Awhile back I heard that the opening, Beauty and the Beast, and finale floats were kept in working order, similarly to how Disneyland Paris kept floats from their previous parade in order, but the rest were destroyed.

One of my friends who saw the PoD floats in the boneyard specifically mentioned the BatB float, or rather, the little that was left of it. :shrug:

its a shame they couldnt re-image some floats and still use the PoD music. oh well, i suppose we have to wait till something is announced.

Most likely a new parade will premiere in Fall 2011.

I hope we get something new and on the scale of POD or even better. We've had some bad parades these past few years, I think it's time Disney repaid us here.

I'd like to see an old "Kids of the Kingdom" style show for the castle and a
40th parade with floats based on each land of the MK featuring the characters riding our favorite attractions. Parade music based on the attractions and not movies as the 40th should be a celebration of the MK.

Our Castle Forecourt Stage at Walt Disney World`s Magic Kingdom may look better, but Tokyo Disneyland Park's Castle Forecourt Stage has MORE Space for BIGGER and BETTER Productions and Numbers in their shows.
The Dark Color on Tokyo Disneyland's Castle Stage may be off, and The Size of Tokyo Disneyland's Castle Stage may be way too big in width,
BUT, hear this ...... AT LEAST THE BOTTOM LEVEL OF TOKYO DISNEYLAND`S CASTLE FORECOURT STAGE IS SOOO WIDE, THAT THEY CAN PUT ON A BIG SHOW WITHOUT HAVING TO SACRIFICE ANYTHING IN THE SHOW BECAUSE OF THE MANY FUNCTIONS AND BIGGER SPACE TO WORK WITH ON THEIR STAGE UNLIKE WHAT WALT DISNEY WORLD'S MAGIC KINGDOM HAD TO DO WITH THEIR RENDITION OF CINDERELLABRATION " CINDERELLA'S ROYAL CORONATION " DURING THE 18 MONTH LONG, 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF DISNEY THEME PARKS WITH DISNEYLAND`S 50TH ANNIVERSARY THE HAPPIEST CELEBRATION ON EARTH IN 2005 - 2006 BECAUSE WALT DISNEY WORLD'S MAGIC KINGDOM CASTLE FORCOURT STAGE CANNOT HOLD AS MUCH.
Trust me on this. If the bottom level of The Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Castle Forecourt Stage was as wide as Tokyo Disneyland's Castle Forecourt Stage, then should the NEXT TIME something like this come about, and Walt Disney World had to import a Castle Stage Show from Tokyo Disneyland, It would at least hold a bit more water and match up better with The Tokyo Disneyland Shows. In other words, Walt Disney World`s Magic Kingdom would not have to worry much about having to sacrifice and end up taking away from the spectacularity of the shows.
To put it to you in another way, Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom would be able to do a better job with their Castle Stage Shows if the Bottom Level of The Stage was extended to be made a bit wider, so that they would have more space to work with. That is all.

IM GOING TO WRITE IN ALL CAPS AS IF IM YELLING BUT NOT REALLY CUZ IF I WAS YELLING A SENTENCE THIS LONG I WOULD PROBABLY PASS OUT AND DIE CUZ I NEED MORE LUNG CAPACITY WHICH I COULD HAVE IF I HAD WIDER LUNGS LIKE THE STAGE IN TOKYO AND MY LUNGS WOULD HAVE PYRO AND MIST SCREENS AND WATER CANNONS AND BE ALOT BETTER UNLIKE WALT DISNEY WORLD'S MAGIC KINGDOM LUNGS WHICH CAN'T HOLD AS MUCH YOU HAVE TO TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!

Im tired of the whole celebrate and party theme!!! Its old its generic and somewhat obnoxious with a dj etc, lets move on.
Can we not have something more classic Disney like the parades use to be? Parade of Dreams looked and sounded nice I would have been okay if that had come here but I guess something on the scope of the 25th anniversary parade would be good. No more rehashing old music and redressing floats. Tokyo constantly gets amazing parades (look at their easter wonderland parade, wow) and we go for years with nothing new. It use to be that every 3 years a new afternoon parade was to be introduced (thats what we were told on the keys to kingdom tour a decade ago) and its been pretty much a decade since a new afternoon parade, maybe even longer??

Not to mention TDL has special parades and castle shows for most holidays, anniversaries, everything!

MK needs a new parade badly. It's just so boring and old. They have rethemed the parade way to many times. All new floats would be great.

I know I am really dreaming here, but... shouldn't one of the floats for the 40th have a float honoring one of the classics attractions that as been replaced. Like say a Mr. Toad Float... where he is riding the car through one of the scenes from his ride. :shrug:

Holy flashback, Batman! I downloaded "The Lottery" on Mousebits awhile back...it was a funny little movie, and it brings back memories of my early 90s trips to WDW as a kid .

MK is way overdue for an entirely new parade, and I'm really hoping they don't disappoint. Although I do love the music from PoD...I'm lucky to have seen it on two trips to DL. Now that music is in my head! Welcome to our fam-i-ly time, welcome to our happy to be time...
