NBA Playoffs

So I was right about the Hornets losing in 7 games...just happened a round early.

Just 4 teams left, and David Stern still has ratings dynamite (Celtics-Lakers) or ratings kryptonite (Spurs-Pistons) as possible finals matchups.

I gotta tell ya...the officiating is absolutely horrendous. The Celts/Cavs series was a joke. At least the bad calls were split...and definitely went both ways...but David Stern really needs to look at the officiating problem because I don't think it's just be coincidence that all of these "home teams" are winning.

I just can't believe that the home record vs. away record is so heavily towards one side because the teams play THAT much better at home.

Ya know... I strongly disagree about it being split...

I'm not saying no bad calls went against the Cavs... not saying that at all... but the bad calls... like the really bad calls... the mind-blowingly bad calls... all went against the Celts...

Pierce's charge in game 6 will go down as the worst call I've ever seen made be an nba official... especially in a playoff game... we were watching that one on comcast sports net but we flipped over to ESPN to see what they had to say and they were livid about the call... it was just terrible. You took the chance at winning the game right out of the celtics hands...

Lebron gets almost every call... except they did a few times stand ground about not making calls for the King, and a couple times he did get hacked and not get called; but I think that evens out for him in the end for everytime he doesn't even get touched and it gets called...

When Lebron BLATANTLY grabs Pierce's jersey and prevents him from getting to the ball.... just... how do you not see that... how... it's awful...

and then in the first game when Lebron flopped out of bounds when Posey was a full foot away and the ref called a foul... ahhahaha Jeff Van Gundy was calling for a Lebron suspension in order to get the "flopping" around the league under control... sooooooo true...

The officiating in the NBA in every game is sooo far beyond awful... I cannot remember the last time I watched an NBA game where I thought to myself "that game was officiated, relatively speaking, well."

every Celts game seems to get worse and worse... it's just awful...

Stern is in desperate need of fixing this problem... no one in the entire world is worse at their respective job as a whole than NBA officials...

________ Bavetta was born in 1939... HE WAS BORN IN THE 30'S!!!!!!!!!!!!

how is he capable of officiating an nba game... he isn't...

I don't mean to take anything away from LeBron because he really is an incredible player...but...he does get a LOT of calls...and "no-calls" on him. Why is he so heavily protected? Is it because the NBA needs those "superstars" so they do it to pump up numbers? That Pierce foul/no-foul was just pathetic.

I almost broke my TV when Pierce got called for that charge.

Funny comment earlier on ratings dynamite and kryptonite. A Lakers/Celts series would be huge.

To continue with the refs...

I think it's kind of funny (and maybe anyone who watched the game last night might agree about this...)

I mean you have two teams play and 10 guys on the court... those doing exceptionally well stick out... those doing exceptionally poorly stick out...

well how about when a ref sticks out... has that EVER happened before?

Joey Crawford is hands down the worst ref in the entire league; and I'm honestly not sure why he's allowed to do playoff games when he was suspended last year and he sucks anyway...

the other two officials called a great game... every single AWFUL call was made by Crawford... 100% of them...

there was a 2 possession sequence where KG didn't even come close to making contact with Rasheed and Crawford calls a foul... and you see Rasheed smiling like "wow i just got a gimmee..." the announcers thought the call was on him because they didn't know how it would be on KG...

then... KG gets it in the post, gets hacked by Rasheed 3 feet from Crawford... no call... and then Rasheed strips the ball out of KG's hand (KG recovers the ball...)... clearly made contact with only the ball, again three feet from Crawford... and he calls this one a foul...

Rasheed also had an obvious all ball block called against him... Rasheed probably got the worst end of the stick on the night from Crawford (and why? Because Crawford holds grudges/judges players and calls games based on that...)

the "blocking" foul called on PJ Brown when Rasheed was backing him in was ABSUUUUUURD... why was it absurd... BECAUSE HE PROVED HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE RULES OF BASKETBALL... and again, Jeff Van Gundy sitting there saying on national television... "the official needs to understand the rule in play, that isn't a foul, if anything, it's offensive, it's in the rulebook"

NBA Officials have NEVER grasped the concept of "the defensive player is just as entitled to any space on the floor as the offensive player is..."

Ref's do not understand this... PJ Brown is holding firm while Rasheed is jumping backwards into him... must be a block right Crawford?

Anyways I'm not compaining about calls because we won... but I just have zero faith in the officiating which is terrible... and again, I'm openly admitted that Rasheed got the absolute worst end of the stick last night...

Win or Lose...the refs are taking the games out of the hands of the players. They play all year to make it here, and then the rules "change."

ah... there it is...

hahahaha that was essentially the point I tried to make with that 3000 word essay i just wrote...

exactly what I was getting at... the refs are taking the games out of the hands of the players...

not to sound bitter, but Pierce's charge in game 6 did EXACTLY that... you took away the Celtics chance at winning with that call whereas you don't make that call, or call the block as it was... the Celtics very well can win that game

If anything good is to come of this series...one thing is for sure...it will be long and exciting.

I have a lot of respect for the Pistons and what they have done...and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this will play out.

Didn't watch much of the game. Last time I saw, the Lakers were down by about 20. Turned it on with 2 minutes left and it was tied. Great comeback.

I forgot they were playing and when I turned it on they were down by two, 81-79. Heard they had been down by 20. All that matters is that final score.

I hate the Spurs.
