Trip Report More Fun than I ever Imagined on the Re-Imagined Magic!

It’s time for a trip report on the brand new Disney Magic!! Okay not-quite-as-new-as-if-I’d-written-this-report-in-October Disney Magic!

Sorry. I’m only a couple of trips behind now at least! :D

Who: Myself, Heather and Missy! Here’s our (bad) phone selfie!

What: The inaugural sailing of the reimagined Disney Magic. It actually wasn’t supposed to be the inaugural sailing but the inaugural sailing was cancelled due to damage the ship sustained when crossing the ocean. I hated that for those booked, but I was not sad to be the first ones onboard!

Where: A two night cruise to nowhere out of Miami! Short and sweet. Our motto was no time for sleep! We could sleep when we got home.

That ear looks a little big, but I bet if she tried the mouth, it would fit just right. Hehe

Oh snap!!

What a great tour you are giving us of this beautiful ship along with great pictures. This is really making me think on how I can convince my family to go on a Disney cruise.

Happy to help, mrdrift! :)

I was the most anti-cruise person I knew. I thought cruises sounded like nightmares, trapped on a ship in the middle if the ocean with nothing to do but go buffet to buffet eating. It was @Disneyfalcon 's report from the Dream preview that captured my imagination. I wanted to see all the little details of that incredible ship for myself. Tammy's photos are amazing but they only capture a tiny glimpse of the entire thing she's shooting. There's only one thing to do: GO! Go experience these incredible Disney creations! It will blow your mind. Words do it no justice. If you can go, GO! You won't be sorry. ;)

What Kelly said.

Coke Zero SCORE!!! Thank you, DCL, for the hip/thigh friendly mixer. ;)

Oh my at the kids club areas! I think Andy's room truly shows just what Disney is capable of. I want to go play there! Would it be the utmost in creepy to wish that was my room??? I'd so live every day as a toy in Andy's room. I would!

Pooh on muster drills interrupting our immersive tour! The adult in me says, "Emergency procedures aren't optional" but the kid in me says, "Phhht! They look like they can swim. Or tread water, at least." LOL!

Coke Zero score!!

Right? I totally agree. That whole area is so Disney!

I feel like they should be optional after you've seen say more than 4? :)

Hey now woman, look who's talking...it takes a big mouth to eat those giant swirls of ice cream you know :p

I really pity the child (adult) that doesn't try out Andy's room. That place is da bomb.

Oh snap again!!

It was da bomb dot com.

Yay, another Tammy TR !!!

And here I thought Andy's room on the Fantasy was awesome, this one looks incredible. I can't wait to show these to O, he's gonna love them. Perhaps we will be booking another cruise sooner, our Toy Story loving little boy really needs to see this !! It looks like so much fun, I wanna go right now !!

It really is a shame that you had to travel with such boring and unexciting girls, hee hee :)

Can't wait to see more....

It's incredible. Seriously, Oliver would be in Heaven. This room has him written all over it!

It's sad to be so bored on trips. :)

Just have to say- LOVE the Andy's Room pictures! Especially with the Potato Head pieces

Aww, thank you! And for the record, you would love the Magic. She is a beautiful ship (I think I may like her more then the Dream)

Thank you, Joanna!

Things that are awesome:
Disney
Coke Zero
This trip report

Lol!! Thank you, Billy! Are you a dad again yet?

Tammy, I saw this up on the boards here and I want to read it so bad right now because I love your reports, but I am going to wait until after we get back from WDW that way it will get me excited for our trip next year on the Magic and the post disney depression won't be as bad :) But I wanted to post here that I did spot it! :D

Well of course you are busy right now!! It will be here when you get back!! :)

The funniest thing was happening when we took pictures of the screens. They always showed up with crazy colors! Standing there it was black and white. But through the lens of a camera, all kinds of hidden colors showed:

Loved the details:

After we finished, we stopped by the room for our sunglasses. Carnival was leaving!

We went upstairs ostensibly for the Sail Away Party, but I think in reality it was to get more cokes and snacks. We passed @DisneyJoe enjoying the festivities and stopped for a selfie!

Oh wow! I've been itching to see more! YOu never disappoint!

Animator's looks really great! Have they brought the animation magic show over to the Magic yet? How cool is that about the surprise ghost colors on the screens. Like magic. On the Magic. Who knew???

Love that they expanded O'Gills. I loved that space on the Fantasy. The O'Gills beer is good, too. Yummy!

Hi, @DisneyJoe !!! Good to see you!!! Being in one of Tammy's selfies is such a cool thing. Or at least I think so. :p

The shops are gorgeous! I'd be itchin' to shop, too. I always am on sailaway day.

Beautiful sailing away pics. Gonna be awesome to sail out of Miami.

The new Cabanas looks amazing. You did a fabulous job capturing it. The stairs that come up into Cabanas, I think those stairs were there before. They were kinda incorporated into a serving station in the back. You know back where the secret deck was on 7? I think there was a stairway back close to there. This is that same stairway. Mostly we don't remember them being open for guest use all the way up into Topsiders because then they'd have had to station a CM there to hand out the sanitizing wipes. We did enter Topsiders once using the back steps one time. No idea what the circumstances were but I do remember a small stairway here.

Wow! YOu do pick some awesome friends! I love how thoughtfully they incorporated a funny story into a gift. So sweet! FYI for @polymissy & @DisneyHeather, my birthday is coming up in a month. :D Just in case and all. :D:D Juuuust kiiiiiding. :hilarious: Sorta. :joyfull:

I've heard they've been testing the new animation show recently! It's definitely set up for it!

Magic on the Magic.

Selfies with Tammy is way cool. Lol!

Were they behind the dessert section over there on the left? I must not have ever seen them! What do you know!

They're awesome. Everyone needs them as friends, especially at birthday time. :)

Love trip report and the cruise pictures. Can't wait to see the dinner pictures and the night like aboard the Magic. That is truly magical with black and white boards having color added when looking through a camera lens. What else would you expect from Disney :). Will be watching for more of the report.

More magic from the Magic is always good on a Monday morning! :)

I love how bright and colorful the new chairs at Cabanas are! And Animators looks really cool! I recognize those knives and plates too, from the Dream... and the knives from my kitchen! :)

What an awesome birthday surprise from Heather and Missy. Those two are pretty cool gals, I must say! They're WAY too shy though. Someone oughta help them come out of their shells a bit! ;)

Magic from the Magic!

I love Cabanas! It's one million times better than Beach Blanket Buffet or Topsiders. This is one update that the Wonder is desperately needing!

Oh good point. I recognize the knives from my kitchen!

They are awesome gals. It's too bad they're so devoid of personalities. :D

Tammy - Wow, here I am sitting at the Orlando airport waiting for my delayed flight home after an awesome DCL/WDW vacation. As I was starting to get that dreaded post-trip depression I came across your trip report. What a boost. I love Tammy trip reports.

How awesome to celebrate your birthday on DCL. Also not a fan of the chandelier (if you can call it that). Love the extra shade areas too. The new Magic looks spectacular although I've never been on the old Magic. (It's on my list). Your pictures (as always) are wonderful. And thanks for sacrificing your dinner prep time for the extra photos.

Keep it coming. I just may have to book this ship next.

Well I'm glad I could help with the post Disney blues, Kris! :)

It was great timing for my birthday! I highly recommend celebrating a birthday on a cruise. :)

You are definitely going to have to try it!

I found a thread on the other forum that discusses the secret/not-so-secret stairs. I'll send you the link. Apparently there's a set of stairs on the classic ships from inside the buffet respectively down to 8. Then, there's another set of stairs from 8 down to 7. I knew I'd seen the stairwell going up from 7 near the entry door to the old secret aft deck. What you're describing sounds sorta right. I can't remember if the stairs were off to a side or not. I seem to recall seeing them more center but I could be wrong. YOu know how it is when all the ships start to merge together in your brain. ;)
