Monsters, Inc. DHS Coaster coming soon?

I don't see the need to use up all of the backlot tour on one attraction based on a movie that I have no desire to see. Of all the PIXAR movies to base half a park on, you choose Cars? Better things could be done with the land, something that is a precious commodity for Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Also, I prefer for the parks around the world to have some sort of uniqueness to them. Let Carsland (awful name btw) be exclusive to DCA. Find something else to help sell plushes and pins at DHS.

Well, if you haven't seen the movie yet... give it a chance! It does have a good storyline!

And what would you do with the land?

We complain when another park gets something and then if they bring it here we complain that it's a clone. Can't make us all happy! I have no problem if they copied the whole darn thing and dropped it in DHS... doesn't bother me a bit.

Although, I have to agree with you on one thing... the name is dumb! Something with Radiator Springs in it would be better!?!

I defiantly see something Cars coming to DHS. It's the #1 boys brand for Disney, has another movie on it's way, and an amazing online world coming out this month or next month. It's only going to become more popular from this point on.

It has to be different somehow. Each resort should have some originality and a unique image. Are you a supporter of the Disney Parks campaign?

No, not even for a second... it's an insult really! But wanting an attraction from another park is not the same as a t-shirt with Disney Parks written on it! And even when they do "clone" attractions they usually have small differences (even if it's just the facade, queue, etc.). So, it's not like it's the EXACT same thing you would see in another park!

When I visit WDW I want my merch to say WDW on it. I want it to say the name of the ride, attraction, whatever... and I want it to have a reference to WDW not Disney Parks.

But if they want to bring Carsland to DHS it would thrill me to no end!!!

It was a joke. Chill.
It wasn't funny.
Depends on the scope of the project they choose to go with. As I said, it wouldn't necessarily be a direct lift.

No. Everything I have heard would indicate that LMA isn't going anywhere.

As always, subject to change at the whim of the powers that be....

Of course not, Lee...With TDO you ALWAYS get the smaller scaled back version!

Agreed with both. DCA needs a big, unique dark ride more than any other Disney park in the world now, since it really doesn't have any. From what I've heard, how successful the new DCA will be will determine the fate of the entire Disneyland Resort (DCA Phase 2? New hotels? New park?).

Let it keep Carsland.

I dare TDO to come up with something just as extravagent and unique for Hollywood Studios... something related to the theme of Hollywood.

:sohappy: Excellent point. Though Carsland looks great, it would be a odd fit for DHS. Something unique would do the trick.;)

And DL's success? Insured with DCA2.0. ALREADY people are positive about the resort.

Am I correct in my outline of what would be potentially used in Carsland?-http://www.twitpic.com/yeser
No. LMA would stay, as might Cat Can.

Think behind Studio One to World Drive, and north east to the parking garage. Depending on the scheme it may or may not include the tour entrance and water tank.

I agree the theme could be better park-wise, but if Pixar Place is to become a proper `land` it would fit. As Lee said, it may not be a direct lift of the DCA version, pretty much how our and DLs Splash Mountains differ. Or Pirates. As a theme and concept though it is a perfect E Ride.

But Studio One would be first.

Well, if it's like SPM, we'll get the longer, better one. If it's like POTC...We get the shaft.

As for theme...? Eh, I guess they could pull a Star Tours and leave some props around. If they really wanted to get technical, they could construct the rock work, and leave the other half undone. A perfect reference to that original idea for "movie mountain", where half of the Mountain for a coaster was done, competed and ready for "shooting" and the other half was left as a set. :D
