Monsters, Inc. DHS Coaster coming soon?

Actually, it's quite possible.
A substantial amount of prep work has been done (some fairly recently) for the ride, and the project is currently in a state where it could move ahead very quickly at the first sign of a green light.

As Martin said, two things are working in it's favor:
- Idol hasn't drawn crowds to the park. Mangement had hoped that guests would make a special trip to DHS for Idol, but that really hasn't happened. It started qute well, but has begun to fizzle a bit, I'm told.
- TSMM is a huge hit. Wait times have been far higher than anticipated, and the solution they keep returning to is to expand Pixar Place sooner rather than later. MI being the first step, then the Backlot Tour making way for further expansion.

Count me as thinking it's getting more likely by the week.

Cool. I hope it's true. DHS needs PIXAR Place to have 3 or 4 nice rides. Would really complete the park.

I had a similar experince two years ago at a Roger waters show, poor beast is now graffiti covered, much like the toy story Q

How was the Roger Waters show? Sounds like he did some stuff from Animals (a terribly under-rated album).

i hope they do something to alleviate the crowds back there if they do go through with this. When ever i go it bottlenecks pretty bad.

Just from reading the past few Unofficial Guides, it seems that Jim Hill is not always right. I remember a few years ago, he said Space Mountain would soon be under going a major rehab and that it would be renamed "Rock It Mountain".

Not saying he is wrong about this, I've just learned to not 100% believe what he says.

In Jim's defense, there *were* plans for Rock-It Mountain. The infrastructure for it was even installed in Disneyland's Space Mountain, including the sign that had both titles built into the fiber-optics. (I've seen the pics)

But for reasons that are escaping me at the moment, the idea fizzled and died a very rapid death out in Anaheim. (I believe the only Guests who ever rode it as Rock-It Mountain were Grad Night attendees) Even now, there are effects in Anaheim's mountain that aren't used at all.

So don't blame Jim for Disney changing their minds at the last minute. (Though I'll admit he does sometimes present *plans* as being a bit more concrete than they may actually be at that time...)

The last time I was at DHS, there were lights on in the Hot Set building, I tried to peek inside and didn't see much, but I did see what looked like an office room near the front. More than likely something is being planned for that building very soon and hopefully Monsters Inc is the answer...

You never even saw it once! I'm with Servo on this one, you cannot complain unless you've experience it.

Sometimes I feel like the only Doom and Gloomer defending this solid C/D ticket, but Spirit likes it also.

I'm not talking about the quality of the attraction, I'm talking about the fact that they invested into the building, the CM's, the promos, just for it to close in three or so years.

What about the HISTK playground? It's so awkward- I wish they'd retheme to abl or just demo it!
Long term...if everthing stays the current course, look for it to get a "Bug's Life" makeover.
It will mark the boundary of Pixar Place on that end.

It has arguably some of the best rides in the whole resort. HUGE people pullers,ToT,RnRC,TSMM. Those, coupled with MI coaster and Star Tours 2.0 would give this park HUGE numbers

I agree. But I think the bulk of the great attractions are shows. Notice the word attractions.
