Monsters, Inc. DHS Coaster coming soon?

No. LMA would stay, as might Cat Can.

Think behind Studio One to World Drive, and north east to the parking garage. Depending on the scheme it may or may not include the tour entrance and water tank.

I agree the theme could be better park-wise, but if Pixar Place is to become a proper `land` it would fit. As Lee said, it may not be a direct lift of the DCA version, pretty much how our and DLs Splash Mountains differ. Or Pirates. As a theme and concept though it is a perfect E Ride.

But Studio One would be first.

Is this assumption a little more accurate? (Red = Cars, Purple = Monsters, Yellow = Backlot/CC, Green = LMA)

The only issue I see with Carsland/RSR going in is that two major objects would be in its way: Working departments, and the LMA "test track".

With the $ being put out for FL in MK I doubt there will be anything significant built for a few years. If DHS does get MI coaster or some other Pixar ride I would not expect much more to immediately acoompany that. Esp. not Cars ride, that's way too big to put in DHS unless they really plan on expanding. Plus you're talking many more millions on top of the actual ride for the theming.
HISTK playground is fine, I don't think they'll spend money to retheme it. It's very popular and always crowded when we go.

Why do I have a feeling if we get anything monsters Inc it will just be the clone of the dark ride at TDL?
Don`t know why you have that feeling. The suspended coaster is ready to go. It just needs the full nod. The ride system and vehicle looked neat.

Yep. Pretty much. The bungalows and backstage facilities there are all proposed to be removed (and some moved elsewhere)

Though the Studio one project would only take up the existing building space and the open spaces directly adjoining it. The bigger picture is for later major expansion.

Martin, do you happen to have a picture of the ride system and vehicle proposals, or could you direct me to it on these boards say in aprevious post or something?

All rumors point to the coaster, but you have a point...Why didn't TDO just cheap out and build this as the same time as Tokyo? Helps costs.

TDO seems to have a desire to take frugality to a whole new level- and far too often it seems.....

Nice to see an outline, but if the Backlot Tour is going away what would go there? Also is the plan for the Monster's queue to wrap around the back of the Studio One building (entering to the left of the building and to the right of the backlot tour) since TSMM throws out traffic out to the main area when it is busy?

The Backlot would become the main focus of Pixar Place. And yes, the MI queue may not enter via what is today the front of the building.

Because TSMM is the cheap version of Hide and Go Seek, and DCA paid for a lot of TSMM. Orlando got the cheapest deal of them all.

I should have known!:dazzle:

Interesting how TSMM and Hide/Seek are the same systems.

to clarify it's called Ride and Go Seek in Tokyo and Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! at DCA.

This is not true. Aside from running on a dark ride style bus bar system, the vehicles and carriages and everything else is completely different. They were originally planned to be the same, but they quickly threw it out the window for a completely different kind of vehicle.

Also, Both Midway Manias cost roughly the same, $50 Million each I believe. Ours was not cheaper, most of our budget went on placemaking and details whereas DCA's is more sparse because of the ground-up nature of the facility. They both came out even really.

Yup, here is a comparison.
