Tokyo Disneyland: Monster's Inc. Ride and Go Seek!

The details and props look really cool but the concept just seems so.....blah. I don't see how that would be any fun. What would the point be of putting that in the the Pixar area when TSM is already there. They are both pretty much the same concept but TSM is way better. If they were to put a Monsters Inc ride in, it should be the coaster.

Correct me if I am wrong, but all you do is go around pointing a flash light looking for monsters right? Whats so fun about that. And when I say way better I am talking about the point of the ride. Monsters Inc looks awesome with all of the details and everything but the overall point of the ride just seems boring.

It's more like Hide and Seek. When you point the light at something, if there's a monster behind it, the AA appears and does it's motion.

the AA's are some of the best I have seen for sure in Ride and Go Seek. i would love to see them incorporate a little bit of fast coaster action then slowing down to go into rooms where you use the flashlight with the AA's

Actually I think that scar was right about how Tony Baxter basically killed of Western River Expedition and not Pirates. Apparantly Tony Baxter worked on the model with Marc Davis and they were going to try to put in the train ride first and then WRE later. However, Tony was focused on the train ride and Marc on WRE. Later when WDW attendance went up some higher ups came to see some of the attractions that were put on hold. At first they liked it with both the train and WRE and were going to build that, but then I think that Tony came out and said how he hated the idea of a plain train ride, and how he would do it. Apparently, the higher ups liked Tonys idea a lot and decided to have it built as a stand alone attraction without WRE.

It's been "off" the drawing boards and was actually being planned at one time but I think it's been tabled for now. A friend of mine works for Barton Malow in the Detroit area and was on the team that was working with Disney Imagineers.

did your friend share any details with you?

Yea, this is the impression I got from the book. But who knows?

I think we would hear the same things we hear about MILF after a few months. I like MILF, but most here say same old jokes and get rid of it. I can't see the same things popping up over and over again being fun after a few rides. TSMM is always something different if you know some of the right targets to hit. I'm for a coaster or perhaps a multilevel ride that uses doors as portals to different rooms on different levels. In essence, more than one version of the same ride. Kind of like ToT is never the same ride twice. Remember the scenr when Randall is chasing them through all the doors and they keep going into different bedrooms. That would be cool, different, new and imaginative.

This is what i'm hoping for, with RAGS as a basis this could really be an amazing attraction.
