Monsters, Inc. DHS Coaster coming soon?

Amen.

Excuse my noobish Disney lore knowledge, but is it safe to say Tony Baxter killed off any hope of WRE in MK by concepting BTMRR? From the Disney Mountains book it sure made him out to be the one that killed it.

Nope, the demand for and building of Pirates basically killed it. The higher ups thought it was basically the same ride, and therefore no reason to build WRE.

Wasn't WRE just put off for a later date because of Pirates and then BTMRR came up?

It's possible. The last refurb originally had another scene in it, but it was cut.

I doubt it would be possible to lengthen it to that of the others.

Well couldn't they always enlrage the show building or rip some scenes out and try to say what they could do to lengthen it.

Thanks for the link to Martin's videos. Fantastic work. Wow.

Man, if the MI coaster and or Carsland does get built they better not cheap out on it like they did Pirates, Mansion, Space Mountain and SSE refurbs.

I think I just answered my own question with that list ...

I think the demand for pirates indeed killed it. BTMRR is just the "replacement"/filler for WRE, which should have been made, stupid floridian public wanting pirates:brick:

Can't agree with that, Pirates was a high commodity, seeing how well it did in DL.

To the "stupid floridian public", it was like getting shafted. MK opened mius one of Disney's biggest achievements. (Oh, look! It's happening again!)

The only difference? Disney LISTENED.

Wait a minute, I cannot let this go unnoticed. The Mansion refurb was not done poorly or cheaply. It is the perfect example of what Disney can STILL do when they plan and budget correctly.

I was thinking the same thing myself, the Mansion refurb was done very, very well. Space Mountain .... not so much.

Yea agreed, and honestly, the vast majority of the SSE refurb was great as well.

Weren't people complaining because only half of what was planned was actually done? I don't think I mentioned anything about it being bad... Just that they cheaped out on it.

Things were cut, but that happens with literally every project. HM still came out as the best refurb in a long, long time.

I so hope this is true. DHS is probably my favorite park. I love it and the theme and this would be great in pixar place, but down deep I can't believe its happening
