its amazing because people didn't care this much when they ruined the living seas

Agian, they made learning fun for kids. Nemo has a lot of accuracies in it. Disney worked closely with Marine Biologists to make sure of that. Now, kids are interested in marine animals and helping them and learning about them instead of "kung fu killer video games."

The person who created this thread has all ready been put in her place, crashed, and burned. Could this thread be locked and close already? I'm tired of everyone agreeing that this person is wrong.

Well, the films were degenerating, anyway; and Disney needed to replace the mythology scenes because they were never explained, and tended to confuse Guests.

I don't know if someone has already said this or not, but why wait all this time to say something of this nature about the referb? I mean we've known for months that it was going to be redone with the 3 Cabelleros, didn't you have any idea that it would turn out something like this? It shouldn't have taken the video to tell you the refurbishment was going to be along the lines of lightening up the attraction and making it more animated and fun.

I don't agree that they ruined the Living Seas. Turtle Talk is great and the Nemo ride is passable. The ride they had before was non-existent.

As for ruining the Mexico ride, how is that possible. The original was lame. Lets be real here.

Ruined The Living Seas? Man, that's surprising, at least for me I found it to be be a vast improvement and I thought it was real good in the first place. And as for El Rio, the fact that it's lame is pretty much the appeal. I loved that ride and I hope to love Gran Fiesta. Sure El Rio Del Tiempo wasn't overly thrilling but it was the most private place in Disney World.

The ride was outdated and not well attended. It needed updating in a bad way.

But I can't believe you would write a letter after only watching a video. You must be one of those people.

I am dying of laughter here. Seriously, I watched...sorry, I can hardly type right now I'm laughing so hard.

Okay. I was one of the ones who liked the old ride, and thanks to a thesis, knew what the heck was happening at the beginning of the attraction. I am going to miss the old song, but...for a B/C class ride (I say it splits the posts), it's actually pretty good (my humble opinion). My favourite part - the misty tunnel at the beginning - gone, but as long as it protects 'the show', I can live with that.

But until I see it in person, I am going to withold my letters.

Remember...THEY are the ones who decided to make the park educational to begin with so of course, thats what we expect when we go there, right? Or were they lying?

Oh those lying Epcot people really make me ANGRYYYYYY!!!

I hate when I go to Epcot because there's always like 50 Cast Members standing by the gate yelling "THIS PARK IS EDUCATIONAL ONLY! NO FUN HERE! GO BACK HOME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LEARN A LOT OF THINGS" and then I get all excited thinking I'm gonna leave the place with a first class education and maybe even a diploma. But then once I'm in the gates, I have all this fun and go on rides and sometimes I even hug Mickey! THOSE LIARS!!!! :fork:

And I thought I'd really get an education just by using one of my Magic Your Way ticket days. :(

I think I'm going to write a letter too, because the Epcot people are hypocrites! They say one thing and do another. UGH!

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm? :lookaroun

And let us not forget, learning must always be boring.

You know, Disney works pretty hard to work in a lot of accuracy into thier attractions and movies so that not only are they entertaining, but also interesting and fun. I would much rather learn through original and engaging methods than having a teacher read to me. Cut Disney some slack, they are only trying to make learning fun for the children of the world, you'll thank them one day.

Before anyone reads my rants, I just want you to know that these are my two cents and I don't find that no one is right or wrong. The OP has a right to rant and to vent about things like these. Obviously disney is in it for the money but I think they could've done a little bit better then just tossing donald into the ride. Writing a letter to disney is a little silly but I think I know how she feels.

I'm not trying to sound like a prude here but I prob will end up sounding like one, but I found nothing on that video to be entertaining nor educational. "Viva Donald?"" Give me a freaking break. 9_9! As an epcot employer and a mexican, I feel really sick just watching that video.

All I really see is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and another way to promote Los Three Caballeros. They're posted all over the freaking ride now. The original ride was pretty bad, but at least it had some decent sterotypes of us. I rather see the 80's clips promoting the beautiful islands and the mayan temples and our small traditions then see donald and his chumps being promoted as a cheap "fiesta" Ugh, that wasn't even a fiesta.

Come down here to south texas and I'll show everyone a real fiesta.
Children won't learn from this, they're going to be buying the stuffed donald with a sombero and that's it.

As for this...this video:

:hurl: :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: :hurl:

And no, I'm not over exaggerating, that's how I really feel.

I'm glad japan hasn't let disney taint them seriously. Oh goodness, I could only imagine the freaking sterotypes there.
Look at their wonderful tin toy display and before that it was baseball. Look at chinas new hall!! That's beautiful history right there. Now that I think of it, all the countries have their beautiful displays and are all rich in history and culture. Sure a little sterotypical, but better then mexico. Why not Mexico? We're not just not a bunch of sombreros and margaritas you know ~_~

I watched the video and thought the over lay was decent.... Of course, you cannot get the full feel of the ride after a video so I will make final judgement in May when I visit WDW..... The OP needs a chill pill....

This was a ride that needed a change to update it. On our last visit, I let the kids go without me b/c it was kind of boring to me. I watched the video and from what I can see it looks much better and I think that children will like it even more now. It will be a while before I will see it in person, but I will not skip it like I have done in the past.

Much of the critique of Epcot by many is the serious nature of the park, and general lack of fun. We all know better here. I'm a huge fan of Epcot, just the way it is. But I think for the rest of the world, bringing in Disney fun and identity will make Epcot even more successful. Its still Disney. It needs to be.
