Magic Kingdom Changes

It wouldn't be so bad if they cut the fireworks to only Fridays and Saturdays. It would make more sense that way. I know people expect it now, but it just doesn't make sense. People will still come to the parks whether or not there are fireworks.

BLASPHEMY!!!

J/K... I've been going to Disney "multi-yearly" for the past 33 years, and I remember when the Fireworks were once or twice a week only... of course, there was no Epcot, MGM... oops, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom.

And you did'nt need to call 180 days in advance to go eat at a restaurant!!!! oh those days!!!!

Good thing you didn't, as it would have been a waste of time, seeing as how no one has bothered to answer me yet.

Once upon a time, Kevin Yee sugeested that Disney may cut direct bus service to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Instead, all of those buses would be diverted to the TTC, where Guests would need to transfer to the appropriate monorail. It was only ever a rumor.

As for the topic at hand... I like the idea of having special entertainment in each land that merges together into one parade at the Hub. That concept could be very interesting.

Just because something goes away do not mean that something will not be brought in to replace it. Many, many things have come and gone over the years, relax and sit back...see what happens.

Right, 20,000 Leagues was replaced by Pooh's Playful Spot, Horizons was replaced with.... :veryconfu Woody's Roundup will be replaced by Woody sitting in a lawn chair:lookaroun

Horizons was replaced with Mission:Space which, despite some naysayers IS a successfull ride-attraction. Although I would have preferred to see instead the breathtaking "Space"-Pavilion originally planned for the Horizons-building, I like it.

I meant to invoke the Body Wars ride not Horisons. I am not even sure Body Wars is the right name....I have been up for 30 hours now.

Now THAT would be a tad different I believe. Yes people would still come but a lot of the magic would be lost. Fireworks are an essential part of the WDW-experience.

MK didn't have nightly fireworks for a while from 2001 till Wishes debuted in 2003.

The same can be said for Fantasmic, as it also didn't play nightly during that time. I am 98% positive about this as I recall having to pick the nights I wanted to visit the studios back then.

I believe Illuminations was 7 days a week, but I can't recall during that time.

For the month of August, or rather the second half of the month of August there will actually be MORE showings of Woody's Cowboy Camp, Dream Along With Mickey, and expanded hours for entertainment meet and greet offerings. There will also be two showings of the 3:00 parade, one around 7 Pm. All this is to make up for the fact there is no Spectro for a few weeks...And the entertainment department does the happy dance (about Spectro).

They are refurbishing the Liberty Bridge. The afternoon parade will be slightly adjusted in terms of floats and will start and end in Town Square. All the floats will go up Main St., should fit around the hub for a show stop before heading back down Main St. Due to the size of the Spectro floats, this is not possible, so Spectro will be down for a few weeks.

The funniest part of the announcement, for me, was that constructions will be done during all three shifts. During the time the park is open, the audio levels of the Castle show will be adjusted to hide the noise of construction.

Will DDCT have an actual "Show Stop"? Or, will the floats just stop around the hub for a time untill they can get back on Main Street?

May be true, but you can't deny that current marketing has built that up as an expectation. Ever see a commercial with the castle at night and there isn't fireworks going off? Soarin' anyone?

Once upon a time mk only had fireworks during peak seasons such as spring break, summer, memorial day weekend, thanksgiving weekend, & christmas week. Over the last 10 years or so we have gotten used to having nightimte entertainment, get over it, if wdw went 25 years without fireworks evernight at mk & no nightime entertainemnt at the studios, & anyone remember the alternating illuminations & spectro magic back in early 93, or late 92?? one show one night & the other the next night NOT EVERY NIGHT....

There were fireworks at the studios when they first opened, I don't remember how many nights a week, but they did have them.

If they have a show stop it's going to be a 100 people deep around the hub. I remember that's what happened in DL for Light Magic, there were two places where the floats stopped for a show and those spots were packed.
