Magic Kingdom Changes

My family LOVED Woody's Cowboy Camp. My wife and son were picked to be in the show and it was a major highlight to our trip.

I am very disappointed in this announcement.

Disney really seems to be slashing a lot of attractions that involve real people e.g. cutting Fantasmic to two shows a week, cutting Pocahontas and her Forrest Friends, cutting Woody's Cowboy Camp, cutting bus service.

I know Disney is a public company trying to keep the stock price up, but the strategy of charging MORE and providing LESS is never a good long term solution.

If the special touches that Disney is famous for begin to disappear, so will my family.

And many more like us.

One thing most dont realize is that these types of attractions are really there to hold peoples attention and take preassure off of the traditional attractions. When the crowds dwindle, so does the preassure, therefore they are not needed.

There is also talk of reworking these entertainment offerings. There is talk that each land will have a special show that will start and then work their way to the hub. Once there they will all march down Main Street and have a grand finish like Family Fun day. Currently, Woody's Cowboy camp will be staying through August and will be used to make up for lack of parade in that area. Family fun day may or may not be going away. If it stays it will have a reworked ending. One that's not all American as this creates a stand offish image to individuals who are not of American decent.

I really don't care. If WDW management want's to save money buy cancelling such minor shows it's Ok by me. I would only care about cuts concerning the major parade or of course the attractions.

Just because something goes away do not mean that something will not be brought in to replace it. Many, many things have come and gone over the years, relax and sit back...see what happens.

I'm not that upset about either of them going, although my children did enjoy both - doesn't take much to entertain small children! But where can a child see Jessie from Toy Story 2 now? The only place we could track down Jessie was in WCC. Does anybody know when the show is ending? I'm traveling in Sept. and would love for my son to see Jessie again!

Exactly. Yes it is news... but there is no need to blow a gasket over a minor show that is going away.

Now if they cut-back on the fireworks displays to once or twice a week.... then we can start breaking out the pitchforks and torches.

I won't miss either.
Me as well. I just saw both once and that was enough ... and I am pretty sure that they'll replace it somehow. I don't think that they have to cut it due to financial reasons - they weren't any major parades. Maybe we'll see both again with a different make up soon?! Who knows ...

Cheers,

Once upon a time mk only had fireworks during peak seasons such as spring break, summer, memorial day weekend, thanksgiving weekend, & christmas week. Over the last 10 years or so we have gotten used to having nightimte entertainment, get over it, if wdw went 25 years without fireworks evernight at mk & no nightime entertainemnt at the studios, & anyone remember the alternating illuminations & spectro magic back in early 93, or late 92?? one show one night & the other the next night NOT EVERY NIGHT....

BLASPHEMY!!!

J/K... I've been going to Disney "multi-yearly" for the past 33 years, and I remember when the Fireworks were once or twice a week only... of course, there was no Epcot, MGM... oops, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom.
